As far as the shotgun, how many shots do you get?

as far as the concealed carry goes, the class would get me that designation but I can't imagine I'm ever actually going to be walking around with the gun. I think the main benefit for me would be having it in my car. I envision it just being under my drivers seat. But even then, wouldn't I want the gun to be locked up?

Seems like a tough decision. I'm definitely not going to leave a loaded gun in my car not locked up. But then in the 1 in a 100 chance I need it, I can't imagine I'd have time to reach down for it and get out of a locked case.

If you can get a concealed carry permit that's Great .. otherwise the gun MUST be in a Lock Box at home and in your Car ( Trunk ) and..... wait for it

UNLOADED

Not sure if different States have different Laws ... guess they do... but I believe this is the case in the U.S overall

Oh and remember... If you get the concealed carry Permit in State A, it doesn't mean you can carry in another State.

Might as well carry a squirt gun.

Concealed probably a 9mm or a snub nose .38

home protection shotgun

take a class get comfortable with your gun. If you e never handled one there's a certain ick factor to it. You'll get o er it by learning how they function and simply handling them. I never had a firearm...took a class..got carry permits in multiple states now..use to carry daily now every once in a blue moon. Nice to have though just in case

Thanks man....means a lot coming from a player from the SEC.

Sorry you can't recognize humor.

I'm having a discussion about not being able to leave an unlocked gun around because of a child and you respond with a joke implying the child will only make the mistake once. If that's your idea of humor, it doesnt surprise me in the slightest.

Its like you have a contest with yourself every night trying to be a bigger dickhead than the night before.

You need more disciplined kids.....or more gun smarts.....an unloaded or locked up gun is damn near worthless.

It doesn't have a thing in the world to do with "disciplined kids" when it comes to newborns. So you're advocating keeping a loaded unlocked gun around kids regardless of their age or ability to appreciate what a gun even is.

Sounds like you're the one with no gun smarts.

But please carry on being a jackass.

I'm in the minority at the RX but don't have one and don't want one.

Live in a safe neighborhood that has it's normal petty crime here and there. I mean, unless you have a genuine concern for your safety or the safety of your family on a daily basis, why get one?

Some of these jagoffs just carry one around because they can and it's their "right." I don't care either way, just a dissenting opinion from a guy that knows how to use one better than most but doesn't think he needs one.

Mark down this date. April 25th, 2015. The first time we have ever agreed on something.

Get a grip dude...i'm not saying leave it laying around. Have a safe place out of the reach of children.

And save the name calling for your wife/babies mama....it carries ZERO weight with me

I actually agree with this for the most part which is why I dont yet have a gun.

I guess my thinking is what is the harm in taking a class and learning proper gun safety then putting the gun in a locked case in my nightstand just in case? In a perfect world (and most likely), I would never touch the gun again.

Actually your quote earlier in the thread was "safety off...at the ready at all times" which would imply it might not be out of the reach of children at all times. i don't envision a way to keep it immediately available "at all times" yet constantly out of your child's reach at the very same time. You're asking for a disaster.

I agree...most people don't need a gun. I pick up and deposit decent sums of money and would not even think about it without a firearm. People are wasting money if they buy a gun and lock it away.....by the time you realize what is happening it is likely too late.

Might as well keep a machete or cheap sword under the bed.
