Marino still hold the record for most games with over 450 passing yards.

Most passing td's in first 3 years. Somewhere around 100.

Most games over 400 passing yards.

Most season 40 TD passes (tied) with Manning and Brees.

Even some of the best QB's that played voted Marino the best...his strength, pocket awareness, accuracy, size, and raw talent put him ahead of the rest. What he did with 2 receivers and 1 running back was amazing.

duper Clayton and nat Moore were a great threesome but Duper was way better than the other 2

we all use the eye test to some degree.. Marino threw so many big games away and always blamed everyone else... Good to great somewhere, but not top 10 imo... Davis wasn't even around for most of Elway's career.. Dolphins had better defense's in that time period,,Marino also had a lot better coaches then Elway...Reeves pretty much put the reigns on him for a lot of Elway's career.. Elway got to what 5 or 6 SB's winning 2 with arguably less talent..Marino got to 1...OK ....gotcha... Elway it is....BTW, not sure why Andy Luck is even in this thread when discussing this topic

NO! You're wrong! You're just trying to come up with numbers and facts to prove a point. Just like Elway had more pro bowlers on offense, more all-pros and hall 0f famers on offense he also had a better defense! Marino's defense finished within the top ten in scoring 4 times and yards 4 times! Elway's defense finished within the top ten 8 times in scoring and 6 times in yards allowed!! It's not even close 8 thousand yard rushers to 1 for Marino! Marino played his entire career on a one-dimensional offense in an era were running the ball was huge, and receivers and quarterbacks got killed!!! It's not even close to compare the talent around each player!

I hate when a great athlete is downgraded by many because he never won a championship....Bunch of crap.

Marino is 1 of the best.

so if we don't have him in our top 5 or 10 its a bunch of crap... to me that's a disservice to greats that have done more.. We all have our own opinions my man

Yup! Championships matter in golf and tennis, but in team sports, it's just ridiculous! Especially football! Great players can't even play defense/offense or special teams!

Oh boy Check the numbers! You said Elway had more pro-bowlers WRONG! You said he had more all-pros WRONG! This is quantifiable! You said better defense well wrong again! Last time I checked a better defense gives up fewer yards and points!

Elway #1 Marino #15-20......BTW , some of your #'s don't sound right to me....No way you could come up with real accurate #s , and never countered the big edge Dan had with coaches.... Dan was a choker....plain and simple

Winning shouldn't be the only thing. Bradshaw has 4 rings but that's because he had the best team, look at all the HOF'ers he worked with. Bradshaw definitely wasn't the best QB for sure.

Just because they don't sound right to you does not make them inaccurate!! Coaching edge is hard to quantify! Dan had Shula who one could argue was past his prime! Elway had Reeves during his prime (won coach of the year award during his tenure in Denver) and Shanahan during his prime! Shanahan is a greater offensive mind than Shula! Shula's teams in a 28 team league or greater finished in the top ten offense only 3 times without Marino! Shanahan's team's without Elway finished in the top ten offense 8 times! 6 with Denver 2 with Washington. Better offensive mind! Anything else!?!?

One can say Elway choked away 3 SB's.
