I saw Bill O'Reilly grill Obama on his plan for progressive tax rates that would increase his taxes. He said that was socialism, that it was income redistribution. I don't care if it is. People are rich because they won the genetic lottery and have the ability to earn more than others, because of superior looks, physical abilities, brains, or a combination thereof. Which of course came from God, not from anything they did. And don't tell me they got it through hard work. One can only work so hard. Most blue collar workers work harder than any white collar worker who makes twice as much.

We are already giving all kinds of tax breaks to the rich. We got rid of personal welfare, but the corporate welfare continues.

Tax the rich. The poor ain't got no money. Just ask Robin Hood.

Um. I got where I am through a lot of damn hard work. I've spent 10 years
getting 3 college degrees. Why should the government take my hard
earned money and give it to someone who chose not to go to college,
and party while I was studying?

And don't tell me they got it through hard work. One can only work so hard. Most blue collar workers work harder than any white collar worker who makes twice as much.

That's got to be one of the stupidest things I've read in here, at least in
the last hour.

Don't forget parents and connections. How many people with mediocre skills earn loads of money just because they inherited a fortune or knew people that helped them get (and hold) great jobs? I heard you can even become president without any merits just with connections. ;-)

hes right

...I agree. Time to take the top bracket back up to say 45%.

All this shit has to eventually be paid for.....bailouts, disasters, dumbass overseas occupations, policing the world, helping the poor and distressed overseas, maintaining your ability to pay future obligations......all WITHOUT the Pubby dominated strategy of printing a bunch more of worthless money.

Shitfire, the fiddler is wanting his money guys.

If Bill Clinton didn't ...

Yup ... everything is Clinton's fault.

Unlike you, I don't cheerlead and kiss ass for any political party ... except maybe Huckabee.

I don't care for Bubba ... I think he is a criminal and a perjurer ...

... but to blame this on him (when it was a Repub Bill that led to this mess) is kinda childish. Grow up.

it creates jobs. period

Show us under the Dumbya reign how many jobs we have gained over the Billy boy years. Not just a bunch of service slave shit, quality jobs where college is required.

They've allowed those to go overseas in record proportions.

like i said top bracket needs to be taxed heavily. economy has always run better that way. this idea of cutting taxes for everyone is stupid.

McCain: I'll Cut Deficits Like Reagan (Who Tripled The Deficit)

once reagan realized how stupid he was for the huge deficit he ran up due to those top bracket tax cuts, he taxed the top bracket again and recovered. the top needs to be taxed, will be taxed heavily for the economy to be on solid footing.

I couldn’t have said it better.

:lolBIG:, Ya'lls phony hero seemed to side with Biden back in his day....

Ronny was a socialist by your definition then:

"The share of the income tax burden borne by the top 10 percent of taxpayers increased from 48.0 percent in 1981 to 57.2 percent in 1988"

45% is a fucking bargain with all the debt we've run up. Take the bargain, don't saddle my kids with insurmountable debt folks.

Typical Democrat response, call me childish, tell me to grow up and feed me an innaccuracy. Like I said, we're cool with you blaming it on Bush, we know you're wrong and we just let it go. It wasn't a Repub bill, it was ACORN, Clinton and his cronies using crooked studies to make crooked laws that forced banks like Countrywide to loan money to low income people with no credit scores and no verifiable income or be found guilty of discrimination. Under Clinton, low income loans grew from $1 billion to over $300 billion.

Thy do not know what thy speakith about

Growth From Reagan Tax Cuts
Tax cuts do not create federal deficits; greater government spending does. That is the message tax-cut supporters must hammer home, according to political analysts and economists. Otherwise this truth will be drowned out in the media in a deluge of confusion.
Politicians are expected to repeat the mantra, "Reagan tax cuts were responsible for declining revenues and soaring deficits in the 1980s," but no such thing occurred, according to budget analysts.
Receipts from individual income taxes rose to $446 billion in fiscal 1989 -- President Reagan's last budget -- from $286 billion in fiscal 1981, the year Reagan began to slash personal tax rates -- a 56 percent increase.
Annualized, tax receipts grew faster than that period's 4 percent inflation.
During the same period, federal spending rose from $678 billion to $1.143 trillion -- a 69 percent increase.
From 1981 to 1983, personal income tax receipts rose 1 percent -- while spending surged 19 percent. This was during a bad recession. After the recession, the Reagan tax cuts worked and revenues soared.
From 1984 to 1989, growth in personal tax receipts outstripped growth in spending, 50 percent to 34 percent.
And the deficit fell from 5 percent of gross domestic product to 2.9 percent.
After 1989, the deficit ballooned again as revenues dried up following an increase in tax rates.
From 1989 to 1993, personal tax receipts rose just 14 percent, while spending rose 23 percent
Then there is the evidence of the beneficial economic effects of President Kennedy's tax cuts.
In 1964, the economy grew by 5.8 percent -- followed by 6.4 percent growth the following two years.
The increasing tax revenues following from the surging economy led to a balanced budget by 1969 -- the last time that the government was able to balance its books.
But either sloppy thinking or purposeful confusion perpetuates the myth that tax cuts produce higher federal deficits.

That's Clinton's fault too ...

Since Bushie is the guy who couldn't do anything to change what Clinton did in the 90's ... you make it sound like Bushie is Bubba's little bitch ...

It is much easier to push a huge boulder down a steep mountain than it is to try and stop it once it's half way down the mountain. At that point, the boulder goes where the boulder goes, smashes everything in its path and then comes to a rest, and there is nothing anyone is going to do about it except help clean up the mess.

And Monica was Bubba's little bitch. Remember? The one he brought to the White House to suck him off while he smoked pu$$y dipped cigars. He's all class that guy!

The rich will do their patrotic duty and pay more taxes
images

O! say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
