Armadillo's Write-Up
Week 11
Home (18-18). Favorites (14-22), Over (18-18). West 11-7 vs East.
Same four matchups this weekend as last, just different home fields.........
Calgary (5-4) @ Edmonton (5-4)-- Stampeders beat Eskimos 31-30 at home last week, as Edmonton missed FG on their last drive; third win in last four games for Calgary, which is +5 in turnovers in last four games, after being -6 in its first five contests. Calgary won its last two home games; underdogs covered all four of their home games. Edmonton is 3-1 at home; they're 3-0 vs spread this season in game following a loss. Four of last five Calgary games stayed under total; three of last four Edmonton games went over.
Hamilton (3-6) @ Toronto (5-4)-- Argonauts (+3.5) won 33-30 at Hamilton last week, avenging 36-27 loss from earlier in year; it was fifth game in a row Hamilton allowed 20+ points in second half, outscored 95-41 in last four, all losses. TiCats are 1-3 on road, 2-1 as road dogs, losing by 3-7-12 points. Underdogs covered three of four Toronto home games, with Argos losing last two; they're 5-1 when scoring 20+ points, 0-3 when they score less. Five of last six Toronto games stayed under total; seven of nine Hamilton games went over.
Montreal (6-3) @ BCLions (6-3)-- Alouettes snapped BC's four-game win streak with 30-25 win last week, despite gaining only 383 yards, their lowest output in last six games. Montreal won its last four games- they're 6-0 when they scored 30+ points, 0-3 when they don't. Lions won three of four home games, allowing average of 21 ppg in its home games. Alouettes won last two away games, at Winnipeg and Edmonton, after losing their first two. Six of last eight Montreal games went over total; six of Lions' last seven games went under.
Saslatchewan (4-5) @ Winnipeg (2-7)-- Coaching chamge didn't exactly help in last week's 52-0 loss in Regina; Riders outrushed them 175-46, outgained them 441-142 and had three takeaways (+3), but win snapped 5-game Saskatchewan skid, so not like Riders are having smooth sailing either. Bombers are 3-7 vs spread this season but respectable 2-2 at home, with losses by 10-3 points. Winnipeg was outscored 69-10 in first half of their last four games. Four of last six Roughrider games, three of last four Winnipeg games went over the total.

FRIDAY
Calgary Stampeders at Edmonton Eskimos (-2.5, 49.5)
The Battle of Alberta is working overtime with the Stamps and Eskimos meeting for the second time this week following the Labour Day Classic Monday. While Calgary and Edmonton have traded blows, splitting the last six meetings 3-3 SU, the Eskimos have come through against the spread in four of those contests.
Can Edmonton cash in again as a slight home favorite? That may depend on who it goes with under center. The Eskimos will likely hand the ball to Kerry Joseph again with starter Steven Jyles nursing a nagging calf injury. Joseph passed for 311 yards, two touchdowns and an INT – as well as a rushing TD – in a 31-30 loss to Calgary on Monday.
TRENDS AND NOTES
* Over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Edmonton.
* Stampeders are 1-4 ATS in their last five meetings.
* Stampeders are 7-0 ATS in their last seven games in Week 11.
* Eskimos are 0-6 ATS in their last six games in Week 11.
SATURDAY
Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts (-2.5, 52.5)
Hamilton (3-6) held a 22-11 lead over Toronto heading into the fourth quarter Monday, but the wheels fell off and the Argonauts pulled out a 33-30 victory to hand the Ticats a fourth straight loss. Chris Williams set a CFL record with his sixth kick-return TD of the season in a losing cause.
Quarterback Ricky Ray threw for 375 yards and Chad Owens racked up 402 all-purpose yards in the Argonauts’ comeback effort. Owens finished with 11 catches for 176 yards and was a beast on special teams for the Argos, who improved to 5-4 on the campaign.
TRENDS AND NOTES
*Toronto is 5-12 ATS in their last 17 home games.
*Under is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings in Toronto.
*Tiger-Cats are 4-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
*Hamilton pivot Henry Burris has thrown 22 INTs and only 20 TDs in his last 17 games versus Toronto.
Montreal Alouettes at B.C. Lions (-4.5, 51.5)
The Montreal Alouettes (6-3) pulled out a 30-25 victory over the Lions to sit alone atop the East standings. Quarterback Anthony Calvillo set a new CFL record with his eighth straight 300-yard passing performance to snap the Lions’ four-game winning streak.
The Leos (6-3) are still top dogs in the West despite last week’s loss and get a shot at redemption on home turf. Travis Lulay threw for 275 yards and a couple of TDs that found the paws of Arland Bruce, who hauled in a season-high six passes for 76 yards in the loss.
TRENDS AND NOTES
*Under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings in BC.
*Alouettes are 1-6 ATS in their last seven meetings in BC.
*Under is 6-0 in Lions last six games following a S.U. loss.
*Alouettes are 0-4 ATS in their last four Saturday games.
*The Als have taken two of the last three meetings with British Columbia and four of the last six overall.
SUNDAY
Saskatchewan Roughriders at Winnipeg Blue Bombers (3.5, 49.5)
The Roughriders (4-5) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 52-0 spanking of the Blue Bombers last week. The Riders will certainly have momentum on their side for this week's rematch after posting the largest shutout in team history. Kory Sheets ran for a season-best 106 yards, becoming the first Saskatchewan rusher to hit the 100-yard mark in a game since 2010.
Joey Elliott and Alex Brink combined for 96 yards passing and an interception in the lopsided loss. Winnipeg QBs rank last in the league in passing accuracy at 57 percent and second-to-last in total passing yards (2,321). The Bombers' offense is averaging a league-low 19.6 points per game, a huge reason why they're the bottom dwellers in the CFL standings.
TRENDS AND NOTES
*Roughriders are 6-0 ATS in their last six games following a S.U. win.
*Saskatchewan is 1-4 ATS in its last five games overall.
*Blue Bombers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.
*Saskatchewan has won three straight over Winnipeg and eight of the last nine.
