In basketball when you inbound the ball you are supposed to have 10 or 8 seconds (college, pro) to get across half court. If you take a timeout after 7 seconds, that time should not reset.

Also, in college get a restricted area under the rim, they have some ridiculous charge calls.

This drives me crazy:

A team is being pressed and not able to get the ball to half court, the 10 seconds is almost up and they call timeout. Why do they get an additional 10 seconds. That is insane!

OT's in the NBA.

They often ruin under wagers and ATS wagers on the dog
that would have been winners at the end of regulation.

There ya go. And FUCK YOU PAUL PIERCE!

And while I'm here, "20 second timeouts" that last 4X that long.

Hockey..........do away with shootouts go back to ties or sudden death.

Basketball............time out can only be called when the player has full possession of the ball...........not when they are just about to fall out of bounds, etc.

Football...........eliminate the coaches calling time out to freeze the kickers.......not allowed to call time out to disrupt the game.

Baseball...........do away with umpires throwing out ball players for the slightest thing. The other sports the team gets penalized not the player thrown out unless it's severe. Penalized the team by putting a man on base..........

the ground not causing a fumble

Well, the saying is wrong. Maybe the most misleading cliche/rule in sports?

It has nothing to do with the ground causing a fumble. It's all about the player being down.

1.0 seconds - player is down; play is dead
1.1 seconds - ball is loose

But after 1.0 seconds, nothing else matters.

So you're saying the NFL should allow fumbles after the play is already dead?

NBA - advancing ball to half-court after timeout

I can't think of any sport with such a rule.

Does Tiger Woods get to call timeout and place the ball on the green?

NFL Sudden Death.

Game should be played in a format similar to college, but not from a set yard-line.

You kick-off and if the other team scores a TD or FG, you have a chance to respond on your next possession. If they don't score and you score in the "bottom half," game over.

A rule which no one can explain to me is why a batter can attempt to advance to 1st base on a 3rd strike not caught by the catcher. There must be a reason this rule is in place. Basically you are rewarding the batter for swinging at a terrible pitch.

The official reasoning is that for it to be an out, the defense has to field the ball cleanly (successfully), and not just benefit from the offensive player's failure.

Remember, if first base is occupied with fewer than two outs, the catcher can't drop the third strike on purpose so they can get a double play. The batter would be automatically out. Pretty fair.

I know I'm going to open a can of worms here but I think they should do away with pitchers batting. I mean come on, why have a pitcher bat who is hitting .167?? I know, I know, the strategy changes by having a pitcher bat but a different strategy is in play when a DH bats.

Having a pitcher bat is like having a lineman have to pass every 9th down in football. It takes away from the game for someone who is so inept to have to try to attempt something.

That was the only rule I want to change in sports, all pro baseball leagues have the designated hitter

why have a DH at all, just have eight players bat. This would equalize it a bit for the lower salaried teams.

I say let them bat. They are athletes so let them play. Comparing it to lineman in football is a joke.
