(don’t really need all the mudslinging!). I am constantly arguing with my friend about his so-called “chip” system. So I just wanted to sum up my own thoughts:
1. You CAN’T do it for large amounts of money period. (pocket change to get the kid started)
2. A team goes on a winning or losing streak for a “reason”. So regardless of where you start your streak, you WILL run into that bummer eventually. (see Houston Oilers, Oakland A’s)
(this begs the question, weren’t there any good plays during the 6 game losing streak? Didn’t want to jump in after Oakland won 11 in a row? Or go against them and lose the next 9?)
3. If you are only engaging in a 1, 2 or 4 chase system, then is it a true chase or more of an odds play? Or more of a hybrid based on “sports” information. Also sounds like a lot of WORK to place 150 wagers only to have one bust you!
4. Personally, I’ve run some of these. For example, Team A is the last to win a game in in baseball. Okay, you pick your spot and go for a small 1, 2, 4 and try to get their first win. (okay, I hear all the advantage bettors screaming right now). The reason they haven’t won yet is because they SUCK. That’s why they call it gambling. But hey, I’d rather try to win $5.00 here than buy stock in Bank of America.
5. "Friends don't let friends chase....ever"
6. Knowledge is everything. From money management to knowing that Ryan Miller is out for awhile. Thanks again for the thread.
