Because I refuse to judge people.
Only one guy does that.

God.

Of course, we're in agreement there. Suppose I just don't understand most of the statements you've made here. Certainly one wouldn't be a Catholic if they acted as you say they do, unless of course you view Catholicism more like Judaism in the sense of it being more of a cultural identity, rather than a religious one.. i.e. no matter what you do, even if you don't follow the Church's teachings, you'll always be considered a Catholic as long as you were born one culturally, much like how a Jew is viewed?

Yup.
Branded from the moment of birth.

We're in complete disagreement then and unfortunately it doesn't appear that we can discuss this sensically in according to Church teaching. I assume then that you would think that those who convert to Judaism or Catholicism aren't real Jews and Catholics?

so if you aren't the product of a catholic family your SOL?

I'm not sure.
The catholic converts I've met tend to be more interested in the dogma than the culture, which in my opinion is a weakness.

God gets the final call as to whether you get stuck in passport control because you judged others.
You'll get through eventually IMO

On the other hand true believers pass through the green gate straight into heaven

yeah i like your take better

if there is a god i think he'd respect our way of thinking more an open mind and not judging others and their beliefs

jesus himself said judge not lest ye be judged....or something like that....

having their own personal interpretation of faith and not taking marching orders of some platform devised by other humans

if i'm wrong and going to hell so be it....LOL

Slow down, that's not what I'm saying. I do not believe that Catholics are the only ones with a path to God.

Jews don't need salvation through Christ because they're already "saved" (in the Christian sense of the word since the idea of being "saved" isn't Jewish ideology) through the act of God handing down the Ten Commandments to Moses and His chosen people, the Jews.

Christians, however, can ONLY achieve salvation through Christ and not through the OT teachings since they weren't God's original chosen people. God thus had to come to Earth in the form of a perfect Man (Christ) in order to spread a New Covenant, which for Christians, is the equivalent of the Old Testament but does NOT supercede the OT. Thus, both Jews and Christians have now been provided a path to God.

As you can see, I don't believe in the idea of supercessionism, which I admit many Christians, including some Catholics, erroneously believe.

Buddhism and Hinduism aren't religions. Islam, simply stated, has mis-interpreted a key OT passage in the Bible involving Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the relationship between His people, thus have provided a path to God that doesn't even exist.

The Bible, containing the Old and New Covenants, are the only true covenants from God and there's plenty of physical evidence to support this.

supercessionism...not-ever-seen-that-scary-big-word-before...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supersessionism

um...I'll let you take things from this point Tiz.
:toast:

Maybe not the word itself, but the ideology you would've had to hear or learned about many times in your life by now. Do you believe that Jews aren't "saved" in the Christian sense of the word and need Christ in order to get to God? Even the Church has backed away from this position now.

I don't actually have an opinion on ANYONE.

Just me.

Judging the souls of others is not our purpose.

Anyone who believes he can judge the soul of another person doesn't really believe in God.

i'm not theological versed enough to go through the bitter details with you...

but you didn't answer my question are hindus buddhists etc...all going to hell cause they haven't been "saved" or whatever you want to call it

also what happened to all the people before christ

like the egyptians whose religion (guess you might say that wasn't a religion either) was based on polytheism?

where did their souls float off to?

or i guess maybe they came after adam and eve in the timeline of man?

y when was adam and eve born?

the christians nailed down a date?

ancient egyptians were around about 3000 BC or something i think

There is no evidence that the bible is true. This is completely wrong. Try finding some writing about Jesus. This whole fairy tale was conjured up to justify our existence. There are no magical books. I just can't believe how dumb these people look with their magic that happened thousands of years ago.

Even the Catholic hierarchy falls into that trap.
Have an abortion, be excommunicated, and you can't get into heaven.

oops.

Only God can see into the soul. And judge.

Meanwhile man prevaricates and semanticates...
