Oh, and BTW, the format for the Triple Crown hasn't ALWAYS been the same. Try again...

They Never had to race in all 3 races. But nice try.

You might know about a lot of Sports ( MMA, etc ) , but you can Never come close to Horse Racing. I've been in the Business as a Owner and Trainer for 41 Years

yeah you don't need anything but money to enter the Belmont

Nobody said you Only need Money to Enter. My Point is there are Plenty of people that pay the Fees, but don't Race.

Perfect Example is Kid Cruz who raced in a Different race Today at Belmont and Won.

You can enter in Multiple Stakes races as long as you are eligible to race in those type of races.
Just like Sire Stakes races.

If you were breed in NJ, you can't race in a NY sire Stakes

You were right Gravy. These trainers are very good at placing ringers in this race. And half of them don't even look that great on paper. But it's all about placement and timing...

Go Sooners,Once in awhile I get something right just alot of talent with Tonalist and give Commisioner credit ran a hell of a race

yeah if you know your horse isn't good enough you try to steal the Belmont

Master Card tried the point system bonus to get more horses to run all three

Biggest crybaby ever. All the great winners played under the same conditions. If they changed the rules to his liking someone would win the 3c every 2 or 3 years.

My god what a wuss. Now I'm glad cc lost. Had I known the owner was such a puss before the race I would have been fading his assbigtime. What a loser . Biggest crybaby I have ever seen in the history of sports

Good for you. never claimed to. My horse experience leans to rodeos and steeplechasers as that's what is popular around here.

Yep, and 41 years experience isn't needed to see that...

Yep. It's the equivalent of being able to pick 10 bad ass street ballers and entering the NBA Finals...No season or credentials needed.

Actually I think that owner Coburn was right about most everything he said. Trouble is he came off as an ass in saying it because they caught him in a moment of emotion after the race..What he should have done is been prepared to lose with grace "just in case" and he didn't do it.

Not sure how he is a "cry baby" for bringing up some points that are clearly valid issues. I don't think anyone would argue that. The only thing he did wrong was the way in which he said it. I think we can all give the guy a break after the heartbreak and devastation of that loss. We must be some perfect mother fuckers to judge a guy in a moment like that.

No question that He had some valid points but let's face it California Chrome is no Secretariat !!!! Do you think Secretariat faced some horses that hadn't run all 3 races ?

He's not a Secretariat even if he had won. Won't be another one of those...

Horses like Secretariat were a freak of nature. A one in 10 million horse that didn't pass on his strength or speed to his offspring. I hate that they keep trying to live up to that horse with these big 3 hour TV buildups to these triple crown races only to have them squashed in two and a half minutes.

Affirmed had a legit rival in Alydar.

It it created the closest victory in lengths in the Triple Crown.

Yep. A heart 3x bigger than the average horse. What an oxygenated blood pumper.
