yeah, those odds are stupid. Guess laid out as he's a public fav now?

GL with the bet Harry

next stop on the bus for DeChambeau , for me anyway, would be a sports psychologist. The guy's mind seems to get in the way. Gets frustrated, face at times reads like a book. Needs a 'Tiger Mentality' , dont get too high or too low. Tiger has stated his greatest strength in his mind, and credits his Buddhist upbringing

Couldn't back him in this tourney at such low odds (+700 to win, -175 top 10)

BUT
Bryson -145 over Reed today (Round 2 DM) sure seemed like a gift.
Love Reed but he doesn't quite have it locked in right now.
We'll see how it plays out.

Bryson (-145) wins the matchup by 5 friggin strokes.
Never in doubt.

par 4 16th, 462 yrds

driver 355 yds in the fairway, lob wedge comng in, lol

we need this two-some

9:55am tee time: B DeChambeau, C Champ

:)

Champ is juist as long AND is in beautiful balance at the finish, what a freak! Champ needs serious work on short game and irons (wedges ). Look at these round 1 numbers;

driver ave: 346 yds, drivig accuracy : 78% GIR: 83 % and he shot 69!!?! WTF!!!!!!!!

Yeah, he's making golf fun to watch but I think I saw DJ hit about 370 on 18 to win last week - he needed a 4 - could have played consistent golf and drove it 300 and had 130 in but had no concerns about crushing it

a US Open layout would not be suitable for a swinging-from- the -heels -strategy, haha. He's 26. Rahm is 25, Schauffele, 26. These three likely on most 'goign to win a major eventually' list.

The list of young guns is growing tho; Wolff (21) , Morikawa (23), Hovland (22) , Im (22 ), Niemann (21). How's this for a list? all have already won on tour ! (except Hovland)

clock ticking on Fowler.....

whoa... a seemingly stress free 65 for DeChambeau, he wins. Made it look easy.

birdies 16, 17 and 18. On 18, par 4 471 yds; drive 367 yds , lob wedge to 3 feet.

Full kudos to DeChambeau, and am sure Moe Norman would be smiling

DeChambeau's driver average for each round;
rd 1- 358 yds
rd 2- 335 yds
rd 3- 348 yds
rd 4- 360 yds

If you're gonna average 360 it's pretty hard not to win - and he is an excellent putter too - on a links course - when he catches it right down the middle - he will be driving near 425 not problem

and even with these drives his proximity stats have been really poor. That means if/when his short iron game comes around the dude will be close to unbeatable

he entered the tourney 124th in proximity, exited in 134th. Two years ago he was 42nd....if he gets back to that level he'll break golf

b2b tournaments starting this week in Jack's house....

Note: Bryson won here when he averaged 295 yards off the tee in 2018. He was in a 3-way playoff with An & Stanley

the Detroit field sucked but posting 7 top-10's in a row is pretty nuts when other tournaments had JT, Rahm, Webb, Rory, X, Reed, etc

1st
6th
8th
3rd
4th
2nd
5th

weird dude, highly unlikeable and standoffish, but if he gets his wedge game together he'll be #1

I've had money Bryson last 4 events to win and finally cashed at Rocket Mortgage but was at a short price. I've watched him play a lot through the early rounds on NBC gold app. If he can improve his wedge game, look out. The only good wedge shot he hit over the weekend was at 18 yesterday. Also his chipping needs to be improved. He's an absolute beast though off the tee. Insane.

If this dude keeps bombing it out there further and further...

his caddie will have to carry a sign that says 'How's my driving?' Call this number.

He's a lock to win some majors - and probably a lock to have some injuries

He has never finished in the top ten of any Major....but he has everyone watching golf....he has kicked Rory to the curb with his length....will be interesting to watch at the Masters....

His record in majors is not good, and imo speaks to the mental part of his game which i touched on earlier. . Majors are entirely different animal --just ask Dustin Johnson

Golf is too finicky to dominate, you need a special dude to do that, cue Tiger Woods. In his hey day Woods won approx 35% of tournaments entered. In his career has won 22% of tournaments.

the difference this week wasnt really the driving, rather the flat blade. DeChambeau was fuckin solid . He putted lights yesterday .

What is really impressive is his drive 'misses'. You swing that fast and you open the door to wild shots, misses. Not with him tho, can thank one plane swing imo-- less room for error. A Cameron Champ miss when he really lays into it? fuckin no comparison - OB lol. Also, with his brute strength (ala Koepka)-- its not as hard hitting a wedge out of rough then 7 iron. Look at the par 5,17; he had 235 from the rough-- 8 iron, lol.

Again ,Augusta's 13,15 are really in trouble with this guy. I wonder what he does on #4

how was DeChambeau's putting this week?

' DeChambeau is the first player in the ShotLink era to win an event while leading the field in both Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and Strokes Gained: Putting.'
