OK, let me ask you this......
Why don't we enforce the laws that are already on the books?
In Massachusetts there is a Minimum Mandatory 1 year sentence.....it's not stopping people from becoming first time offenders.
Most of these people will not change thier mindset if it is 1 year mandatory or 25, or 50......gangbangers gonna gangbang......that's all there is to it.
Shouldn't we enforce the laws already on the books before we let some weasel politician take credit for "taking a stand" on gun control?

Where have we gone on this forum when guys can't even discuss items of mutual interest? Nobody is even arguing in this thread. Very professional and cordial but of course it's Enfuego's fault. Nobody else.

If one year MANDATORY is not a deterrent, do you think 15,25 or 35 years will be?
The people who are intent on doing large volumes of harm do NOT care about mandatories (most try to off themselves anyways), or you have the "gangbangers" who have no remorse or fear and 15, 25, 35 or 1 year mandatory doesn't make a difference in the world to them.
Enfuego, do you think a 25 year mandatory for possession would have made a difference to these thugs who stole a cops guys today?
