2nd amendment haters just don't understand if you take away their guns, then you will see crime increase nation wide. Criminals will always have access to guns on the black market. People have to right to protect themselves. 99% of these homicides are from people how don't have a gun permit. See Chicago will stiff gun laws and the most crime and deaths.

A Fox Lake police officer shot and killed Tuesday morning has been identified as a 32-year veteran of the force who was married and had four children, a police source and family told the Chicago Tribune.
The officer, Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, went by the nickname “G.I. Joe,” according to the article.
Gliniewicz radioed police dispatch around 7:50 a.m. to say he was pursuing three suspects involved in some sort of “suspicious activity,” Lake County Sheriff’s Detective Chris Covelli told CBS Chicago. Police then lost radio contact with the officer.
