Skyler will probably be killed by the end of this mini season. She still smokes cigarettes doesn't she?

This weeks episode was a throw away script. So far everything they did this season led up to selling a raw material. I was a little worried about this. The writers have lost the ability to advance the plot. I am sure they have had the series wrapped up in their head all along that would probably take up no more than 3 episodes to explain but the filler for the other 13 episodes was going to be a problem.

That last episode was just a boring and setting things up for the next episode. They're milking the show.

I also think Walt has changed a little too much in this season. Like unrealistically to be honest. This is why I don't believe the show's writing is on the level of The Sopranos. Too many character inconsistencies.

What I really liked about Sopranos and Lost was that they left some storylines unresolved. A lot of people disliked that about both shows. But in real life a lot of things are left unresolved. Why must we have a final resolution just because we watch it on tv.

no final resolution shown on tv but a lot of hints as to what presumably happened after it cut to black.

What's crazy is that Steve Perry didn't give the show approval to use Don't Stop Believing until 3 days before the show aired, and apparently it was because he didn't want it used if it showed anything bad happening to Tony. haha

The ending plus there were episodes where beefs were started and you didn't hear anything else regarding it beyond that episode. Like the black rapper threatening to sue Hesh over royalties, or the Russian who Christopher and Pauly lost in the woods. A lot of fans wanted to know what happened but I was okay with it. Sometime shit happens and life and there is no absolute resolution and you can't rid yourself from all of your problems.

The same unfinished storylines made Lost a little more fun for me because the writers would create a mystery or storyline that seemed way out there and I figured out real early in the series that if the writers didn't want to give final resolution to a storyline or character that they would just get killed off.

It takes a very good writing team to write a perfect TV series where all things are answered, what is going to happen is foretold in earlier seasons, characters progress and regress where it is believable and both the protagonist and antagonist have just endings. There are only a handful of story arc tv shows in recent years that nailed it from the pilot to the series finale. The Shield, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Buffy and Angel.

Yeah I know some of you will roll your eyes at Buffy and Angel but those were to of the best written shows ever. What happens in season 5 is foretold by just a conversation in Season 3. Foe example at the end of season 3 Buffy has a dream and her nemesis tells her "The countdown has begun. The big 7-3-0". Then in season 5 exactly 2 years later the big event happens. (730 days is exactly 2 years). Also they use a lot pop culture in the dialogue which means you have to know your shit. Also there is a lot of continuity in the series so if you were paying attention fully to an episode in say season 2 then when they revisit what happened back then in an episode of season 4 you would be like cool I was wondering if they ever going to answer that or if such and such was ever going to find out that happened. I strongly recommend both of these series to those who like story arc shows and don't care for shows with stand alone episodes.

Those are two of my favorite series. I like vampire stuff. Also enjoyed Lost,
Dexter and Breaking Bad.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Havn't read the post's here since I just started watching the show.....just started Season 5

Great show...but some of the stories in each of the 1st 4 seasons seem to drag on too much...JMO

But Cranston has really impressed me with his acting in this series....just glad his Coughing like crazy stopped after the 1st few seasons....man that drove me crazy

Looks like there setting it up for next years Hank/walt showdown, with the lawyer under surveillance, it wont be long before they see him meeting with Walt.

I just cant stand Skyler, why is she even in the episodes, looking mad and saying nothing doesn't exactly enhance the show.

season finale tonight right?

then there are 8 more episodes airing next summer I think

I thought of how it could end. things are collapsing. they now owe a guy 5 million, Mike is dead.

Walt still seemingly has no money. maybe a bit of a stretch, but the show seems to be about how getting into this business seems like a good idea by some to make money, but isnt.

I thought of how the show could end. Walt blowing his brains out. penniless, everything collapsing around him. jessie, maybe dead. walts family, maybe someone killed by one of walts many enemies ( Mexico hasnt been heard from in a while?)

think "the warden" from shawshank redemption. police closing in, no way out, time to wonder how it went all so wrong, before Walt blows his brains out.

I don't think Walt will kill himself. I think it'll end with him placing evidence on Jesse or someone else and nobody ever suspecting who he was.

Who do they owe 5 million to?
