Man Silva went a little wild in that fight. Trying all types of crazy shit like it was a sparring match. Leites is a little bitch! I cant believe people actually thought he could beat Silva.....

Start time is in around 2 hours .

Last time I've placed my money on Herman he gassed and got TKOed in Japan , he isn't good but I guess he is getting a break here fighting another unknown , after a loss he can just look for a new job and this should be motivation enough to win .

Eddie gets in trouble here and there but he has the chin to support it and his power is well known . Eddie by T/KO .

Imada isn't a bad fighter but he will have to rely on submission here to beat Jorge and probably wont get one as Jorge has a good camp behind him , with a gameplan and a good wrestling/takedown defense to keep this on the feet and KO Imada . If it goes to the ground I don't believe he will be lost either , from top position he can get a TKO win pounding out his opponent or from bottom just wait for a stand up.

This whole event is a setup for Eddie vs Jorge finals between two strong fighters which would get great ratings .

PS : I've just saw Jorge lost to Rafael Assuncao around 4 years ago ... BUT ... it was a 15 minutes decision loss when Jorge was still green fresh from the streets and Rafael is a great BJJ practitioner who couldn't sub Masvidal in 15 minutes . Now training with ATT and a much improved game Jorge should be able to avoid getting subbed by a guy who only subs unknown cans .

Here Jorge at 1:04 mark

Toby Imada (21-12) vs. Jorge Masvidal (17-3) Round 1- Imada lands the quick leg kick as both fighters feel each other out. Masvidal lands a combination then a straight right hand. Imada pushes forward and eats a straight left. Masvidal lands a flying knee to the body. Masvidal lands another straight left. Imada clinches and Masvidal secures the takedown. Imada works to his feet but eats a flying knee from the taller Masvidal. Imada pushes the pace and lands several body shots. Imada lands two leg kicks to Masvidals left leg. Both fighters trade jabs as the round comes to a close. WKR scores the first round 10-9 for Masvidal.
Round 2- Imada comes out with a leg kick again. Imada lands a combination and Masvidal smiles both fighters touch gloves in mutual respect and the action continues. The crowd now stars chanting Jorge. Masvidal works the left jab. Imada keeps pushing forward and eats a stiff right hand. Imada shows no signs of pain and throws a left hook. There is a scrum and both fighters land shots. Imada goes to the body with a leg kick. Imada lands a good right hand right before the end of the round. Masvidal takes the round again with more effective striking. WKR scores it 10-9 for Masvidal.
Round 3- Imada lands an early punch and Masvidal is hurt. Imada takes him to the ground but Masvidal spins out and both fighters are now standing. Masvidal lands a powerful body shot. He follows it up with a leg kick to the liver. Imada throws a left hook to the body but it lands low. There is an inadvertent low blow and the ref calls time. The fight resumes and Imada has a bruise beneath his right eye. Imada pushes forward trying to make something happen but Masvidal is keeping his distance relying on the left jab. Imada shoots and takes Masvidal down. Jorge tries to sprawl and stand up. Now Imada is on Masvidal's back while Jorge his standing and locks in a triangle choke (I KID YOU NOT) Masvidal falls to the ground unconscious.

Toby Imada def. Jorge Masvidal via submission (triangle choke) -Round 3, 3:22. Toby Imada advances to the finals of the Bellator lightweight tournament.

With 1:38 to go and 2 rounds up he gets submitted ... WHATEVER

I cant believe it :

With round three underway, Masvidal looked like he had the fight wrapped up until a scrappy Imada locked in an inverted triangle choke and put Masvidal to sleep late in the round. What an unbelievable finish.

- $700 instead of + $330 ... thanks Jorge , go back to Kimbo fights .

Never had a bad beat like that betting on either MMA or boxing , this is as random as Tyler vs Froch boxing fight last week .
I've never seen a sub like that , I don't understand how he wasn't able to get out of it , the way I see it his opponent is head down ?!! WHATEVER

BET OF THE EVENT

2:00AM (EST)

WVR - Sengoku 8th Battle - National Yoyogi Stadium 2nd Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan

Michihiro Omigawa vs Nam Phan

My pick is Nam Phan to win

Odds : - 135 , - 155 and - 160

Where : 5dimes and bookmaker

11.25 units to win 7.5 units

If they fought in the first round Nam would be around - 300/-350 favorite but now with a win over LC Davis bookies give a lot of credit to japanese judo player . I've watched that fight and I must say LC looked lost in there , he was either jetlagged or I whatever else but thats not how he fights . Don't want to take anything away from Omigawa , he has good judo but other than that I don't see any area where he can win this fight today . Nam is a serious ground fighter himself , atleast good enough to avoid what Omigawa did against LC Davis , he kept the american on his back most of the fight not mounting a lot of offense . A big advantage I see here is ground game while Nam should also have the upper hand in striking I also see him beating Omigawa on the ground . Omigawa is judo practitioner and to get his opponent to the ground he needs to clinch with him and this is where I think Nam will use his wrestling and overall ground game to stop those throws/trips . Even if Nam will find himself on his back I don''t think its a loss situation because Omigawa didn't show me anything to make me really worry for Nam . However if Nam uses his wrestling to take Omigawa down I can see a lot of trouble here for the japanese fighter working off his back .
I believe Nam will decide where this fight takes place and he should have a solid advantage on the feet so that's where he should keep it and take advantage of Omigawa's sloppy stand up .
I've thought people would be all over Nam Phan seeing - 160 opening line but when I saw - 135 today I decided to add more on this one . Hopefully he comes in shape and shows what he is made of . Like I've said not to take anything away from Omigawa but he didn't show me anything special in the previous round even if he won being a huge underdog , this is another fight here and hopefully Nam doesn't pull a LC Davis performance .

2:00AM (EST)

WVR - Sengoku 8th Battle - National Yoyogi Stadium 2nd Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan

Keiichiro Yamamiya vs Alexandre Ribeiro

My pick is Alexandre Ribeiro to win

Odds : - 200

Where : sportsbook

5 units to win 2.5 units

To me it looks like a similar situation with King Mo's fights , they will get a solid but not great japanese fighter and put him with a big name wrestling or BJJ practitioner . That's the case here , ''Xande'' is considered to be best BJJ guy in the world , to see how many tournaments he has won just check out wikipedia or youtube , this guy has sick BJJ .
This is his second fight , so what do we fear here ?
He can easily lose on his feet before fight goes to the ground but does Yamamiya has what it takes to do it ? VERY UNLIKELY , otherwise he wouldn't be in the ring with Xande Ribeiro . He didn't fight anybody in around 7 years , this goes to the ground and it will be just matter of time when Yamamiya is gonna be subbed . Even if he doesn't get subbed , jugdes reward ground game in those events and on paper Ribeiro's ground game here is like Fedor fighting Zulu .

2:00AM (EST)

WVR - Sengoku 8th Battle - National Yoyogi Stadium 2nd Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan

Nick Denis vs Marlon Sandro

My pick is Marlon Sandro to win

Odds : - 165

Where : sportsbook

4.12 units to win 2.5 units

Nick Denis = brawler
Marlon Sandro = very strong ground control and solid submission game

= TROUBLE FOR BRAWLER ... unless he connects with a bomb before he founds himself on his back .

Sandro might look boring at times but guy has game and trains with good camp . Denis might look impressive putting unknowns to sleep but how will he react once he is on his back with Sandro sitting on him ?

2:00AM (EST)

WVR - Sengoku 8th Battle - National Yoyogi Stadium 2nd Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan

Akihiko Mouri vs Maximo Blanco

+

Ronnie Mann vs Hatsu Hioki

My pick is Maximo Blanco & Hatsu Hioki to win

Odds : - 340 BOTH

Where : bodog

COMBINED
3.7 units to win 2.5 units

Blanco is a talent , I think there is no doubt about it , once he improves his game he might be a beast .
Hioki is a scary man , if you haven't seen him fight I think it's the right time to do so . Guy has sick ground game , Mann is a submission fighter himself so I don't see this ending well . Probably best bet on the card , if - 325 was still around I would bet straight up .
