What a disgusting beat in the Orioles game. Kimbrel is washed. Baltimore is rightly looking for a closer at the deadline. Feels like that’s a reasonable landing spot for Tanner Scott of the Marlins. The Braves, like the Orioles and Yankees, have been playing mediocre ball lately. The Mets are on the rise and I think they win game one of a very important series. Sale is kind of due for a bad outing too. Let’s get that one back from this afternoon.

Miller would have been a great pickup for them and they have the prospect capital to be very aggressive. Unfortunately, Miller just fractured his hand punching a table, so he is out of the question. Oakland is claiming he awkwardly put his hand on the table while doing an exercise and that’s what caused the fracture. I don’t think anyone really believes that. Sounds like a young guy punched a table out of frustration and they are doing damage control so he doesn’t look bad. Either way, he is unavailable. Miami just traded Puk which takes him off the board. I think Scott is the guy. Maybe Fairbanks from Tampa, although I don’t know if Tampa wants to trade him in the division.

I know the Cubs bet isn’t very appetizing with Hendricks on the mound. I think we are in the midst of some regression from Singer. He got knocked around by Boston the day before the all-star break. He did pitch well against the White Sox last Saturday, but that’s not exactly a lineup that challenges you. I might add the over in this game once the lineups come out. GL

Just a couple thoughts on the Yankees bet. The Red Sox are 4-13 on Friday’s and 15-2 on Sunday’s this season. For whatever reason, they start weekend series off slow. They have struggled against left-handed pitching, which is why they are in the market for a right-handed bat. Lastly, Bello has not been good this year. I think he is putting too much pressure on himself after receiving an extension. His stuff is not the problem. If you have been watching, he has not been able to keep his cool on a number of occasions when things didn’t go his way.
I might add one more bet later.
