Future

Heat +3.5 games in their series (-130), 1*

I think Miami will win a game in this series and we are going to get a gentleman’s sweep. I will play it safe and bet them +3.5 games in case they make the Celtics work a little more. Boston to win the series 4-1 is in the neighborhood of +180. I think that is a reasonable bet. Excellent day today, I believe +37.5 units is a season high. There are a number of sides and props I am looking into for tomorrow. I will update in the morning.

Magic +5.5 (-110), 1*

I lean all the dogs today at first glance, but Orlando is the only one I want to bet now. Props were 7-1 over the weekend. I will take a look at the prop market later on.

Today: 2-3/YTD: 275-222, +37.18

Pretty annoying night despite only losing a unit. Embiid made two threes in the first quarter and then missed his remaining six three point attempts in the game. Bogdanovic went 0-4 from the field and 0-3 from three in eight minutes of the first and second quarters. Thibs benched him and didn’t play him again until early in the fourth quarter. He played for three and a half minutes, chucked up three more threes and made two.

While all three home teams did win today, two of the road teams covered the spread and could have won outright. Looking at tomorrow, I think we get our first two road wins of the playoffs. I think Dallas will bounce back and one of Phoenix or Indiana will win. I will probably wait until closer to the start of the Suns game before I post any bets. Despite today being a losing prop day, I think I have had a pretty good read on that market so far. I will definitely look that over once we know who is active in these games.

Chet Holmgren over 1.5 threes (-120), 1*

Chet attempted six threes in game one and made two, which is all we need. Holmgren should get some open looks in transition or on the pick and roll due to Valenciunas not being fleet of foot. I will also have something on Chet to make 3+ threes. GL

Embiid over 31.5 points (-120), 1*
Embiid over 9.5 1Q points (-120), 1*

I did sprinkle some pizza money on Embiid 35+ and 40+ points. I might add the Lakers later on. GL

Lakers -1 (-112), 1*

Embiid got in foul trouble early and didn’t get their in the first quarter. He has more then made up for it since. Not only did he go over 31.5, but he climbed all the way up the ladder. 41 points as we speak. Magic easy winners too.

Franz Wagner over 10.5 rebounds and assists (-112), 1*
Pelicans +1 (-110), 2*

Love this spot for the Pelicans today. OKC is a very young team with no playoff experience. Now they have to go on the road for the first time in the playoffs. I think it could be a learning experience for them. Pelicans get it done today and at least ensure this is a gentleman’s sweep. GL

Cavs/Magic under 201.5 (-110), 1*

I have to bet this under. The first two games there were a combined 180 and 182 points. Game 3 we had 204 points, and that was with Orlando scoring 121. This series could easily be 3-0 to the under and this total would be under 200 if that was the case. I will bet under 201.5 and feel good.

76ers/Knicks under 209.5 (-110), 1*

The more I think about this, the more I think it is going under. This is the highest total of the series, which is 100% based on game 3 ending 125-114. I believe both teams will be better defensively and this is going to be a low scoring, grind of a game. This is what you do in betting. 239 points in game 3 was an aberration. The total is now sitting at its highest point all series, so you bet under. It doesn’t always work, but these two teams are clearly capable of playing a game where both teams score between 90-105 points.

Nothing has jumped out to me yet in the other three games. I have a small desire to bet Milwaukee and Phoenix, since nobody else seems to like them. We’ll see.
