Golly gee , notice a trend here ... All the players had hair and smaller bodies when they were younger , but when they got older a miracuolous process known as "AGING" ( lookit up in the dictionary , its in there ) occurs ... and all the players appear different in the way look. Its amazing really ... I guess your right , Looks don't lie ... So either Hank Aaron , Emmit Smith , Michael Jordan and Nolan Ryan ( each ALL TIME LEGENDS in their own right ) also all did Steroids too , according to your crackerjack theory of head growth and hair loss , or in fact your just full of hot air. Which is it ? afterall , pictures don't lie right ??:monsters-

if u cant tell the difference in the comparisons of body growth...ur a fool

this guy was HEAVY into roids...

not saying that more arent but he is a JUICERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Rupert Pupkin - that list in your 1st post were by athletes who did those accomplishments in their prime (25-30 years-old). When you have one of the all-time seasons at age 36 and after, you tell me. Can't beat Father Time without a syringe.

I will say players take much better care to prolong their careers, look at Julio Franco at 48.

Sure as we all grow older, our heads grow 3/4", our muscles grow several inches, our chest grows couple of jersey sizes, our feet grow two sizes, etc. all within 2-3 years. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha!

I don't even know what the hell your pictures are suppose to prove..... none of them show any discernable differences in their physic, even though some are decades apart.

Fair words , Fair Warning , However --- Lets check out some accomplishments of athletes at age 36 and over ...

Randy Johnson arguably had his 2 best years pitching at ages 37 and 38

Where he was 40-13 with 711 Ks and a 2.46 e.ra ( OVER 2 Years ... mind you ) He also happened to win his only World Series of 20+ year career in that time.

Randy Couture just beat a man 13 years younger than him and 50 lbs heavier then him at age 43

Hank Aaron had only year in a 24 year career of a under 1 homer per 10 at bats Ratio at age 40 .... ( 40 homers in 392 at bats )

John Elway after 14 years of failure has his 2 best years at ages 37 and 38 including 2 SB victorys , a SuperBowl MVP and a personal best for Season TD passes ...

Andre Agassi and Jimmy Connors were able to play competetive tennis long after the supposed tennis quota had expired ...

Every sport has an example of somebody beating the odds and exceeding when age says they shouldn't , Bonds isnt the only one. His could be perhaps the most impressive feat ... but thats a different thread all together. We all know Roids improves your power, but its funny cause the very next year Barry led the league in batting average at .370 .. not many people talk about that , because supposedly when you bulk up , you lose your finesses and skill . But as evidenced by his stats ... Thats not the case ...Sosa never batted .370 , neither did Mcguire ... both lifetime .260 hitters , Bonds is on another plane from those guys , not even in the same stratoshpere , get real.

The biggest effect of roids and other enhansers is the recovery time is much shorter. Obviously you must work out to get the full effect. Thats why these guys get muscle-bound. You don't think Bonds has lost some finesse and skill the last few seasons? It is obvious he has - espically in the field. Much of it is his age. Bonds didn't take them to help his fielding though.

Randy Johnson was a stud for his career. Didn't win for a variety of reasons before 37. Elway never won early because his team wasn't very good. When they got Terrell Davis, they won. I'm sure there are many other examples of late career success, just too lazy to find them right now.

Bonds has been playing for SF for 1993 - 2007 who the hell knows when each of those pics were taken ...and I highly doubt its 2-3 years ... Highly ( and I am High right now btw ) Im heading to gym , Heres a list of Bonds career accomplishments to enjoy ... Notice how on almost every achievement , he has accomplishment in the early 1990s and the early 2000's , Pretty amazing really ( taken from Wikipedia )

Accomplishments
  • Holds record for most home runs in a season (73)
  • 2nd all time for career home runs (744)
  • Holds record for most walks in a career (2,439)
  • Holds record for most MVP awards (7) and consecutive MVP awards (4); (1990, 1992-93, 2001-04). (Note: the current version of the MVP award has been given since 1931. Prior to that year, the League Awards were only given to a player once (from 1922-1929) and sometimes not at all (from 1915-1921). This meant that during many of Babe Ruth's most dominant years - such as his famous year in 1927 - he was not considered for the honor. Many of his seasons were on par with his MVP year of 1923, such as from 1920-21, 23-24, and again from 1926-1931.[35] It's even possible that Ruth could have won 5 in a row, and as many as 9 overall awards.[36][37][38].)
  • Holds record for consecutive games with a walk (18)
  • Shares record for consecutive plate appearances with a walk (7)

its just too bad mark mcguire got shafted out of the hall of fame when this clown did the exact same thing

did you find it odd when the whole steroid and balco stories were in the news bonds didnt play that much because he was "hurt"

haha....ya right....its called layin low buddy

anyhow.....its a damn shame.....anyone can hit balls out of stadiums when they are taking enhancement drugs

everything he accomplished means nothing to real baseball fans...know that

here's the funny thing to me. Alot of guys act like he is the only player on the stuff. I played college baseball, and have some friends thats played minor league ball. I was talking to one of my buddies last week that played in the tigers, white sox, and seattle clubs for 9 years. He estimates that of the guys he knew about 65-70% of them were taking steriods or something else. In fact of the players that have been caught and suspended in the past couple years most of them are pitchers. So you can bet that alot of Bond's homers are off pitchers that have been juicing as well. Whats the differance. A pitcher that takes his fastball from 88 MPH to 93 MPH because of roids is easily just as bad as Bonds, but nobody cares about any of them.

As far as getting bigger. Yes most people get bigger as they get older. Especially athletes. The day I left high school I was 185 Lbs. When I left college I was 218 Lbs with like 7% body fat. I gained 33 lbs. And that is without anything illegal. I did take whatever was legal at the time like Andro but no roids. When Bonds came into the league he was 187 lbs. Now he's 228 lbs. For a 41 lb gain in 20 years. Now lets look at another player. When he came into the league he was 200 lbs. now he's 235 lbs. With a gain of 35 lbs. That guys name is Roger Clemems. Funny how we all get on Barry for putting on the weight, but for Clemens its O.K. I'm not saying I don't think Bonds took roids. I think he probably did, but so do a majority of the players in the game so either clean up everybody or get off the mans back.

Thats what I'm saying. I put on 33 lbs in 4 years with nothihing illegal. Bonds could have put on 40 just as easily. Do I think he did. No, I think he did a bunch of roids. And yes as a person he seems to be pretty much a dick. I just don't understand why everybody hates Bonds when its so clear to anybody with a brain that over half of all players take something illegal.

And as far as his head and feet growing. I'm not a doctor, nor am I even in the medical field but can anybody show me any prove or any website I can go to that says roids will make your feet get 2 inches longer. To my knowledge roids effect muscle and connective tissue. They don't make bones grow longer, which would have to happen for his shoe, or head size to change that much.

He can argue (not convincingly) that bench press and shoulder shrugs enabled him to get so big that he went from a size 42 jersey to a size 52.

But how does he explain this: His head grew from size 7 1/8 to 7 3/4.

Or this: His feet grew from size 10 1/2 to size 13.

It's probably just a coincidence that one of the side effects of human growth hormone is believed to be growth of the cranium and extremities. The increases in Bonds' body parts were recently revealed by authors Lance Williams and Mark Fainaru-Wada in an afterword they included in the newly released paperback version of their ground-breaking book, "Game of Shadows," which chronicles Bonds' steroid use.</p>
