yes but manny is a far superior defensive player to bonds. manny is my favorite player. I just cant get into bonds for whatever reason. legendary numbers with the bat though i can agree to that. and i know 5+ years ago bonds was a pretty great OF, im just not amazed at all that hes old and look at the numbers crap, because i see the whole package with bonds and im not cool with it. and im not just talking drugs.

is it too much to ask him to run when he hits the ball instead of standing at the plate like a cocky ass? no one in their right mind questions his talent. i for one, just want him to run when he hits the ball. run, even though its probably a home run. run, even though its a pop up. run, even though its a grounder to the second baseman.

you are making more money per month than most make in a lifetime. just give the max effort. thats all.

gotta agree 100% with journey here. I don't care what kind of juice he is on. He still has to hit the ball square. His vision is the best Ive ever seen for any athlete. Does anybody here know what kind of discipline it takes to stand right on top of the plate and watch 95mph fastballs just miss?

just inches over his head another home run any OF could grab except him. ive never seen a bigger farce at the position. defense first, bats second. stop being a weirdo groupie. watch 3 giants games you will see more balls fly over his head then jasmine st.clair. he should have retired 4 years ago but you stat groupies want that HR stuff. thats your problem. he isnt a good baseball player. stop being such a stat queer.

Seriously you should'nt post when your drinking. So the Giants are a better team without Barry huh? Guess your career as a MLB GM is shot to hell,Funny thing is you got an attitude like you think you actually know wtf your talking about. Get over your jealousy bro I agree at 40 he is better suited for a DH but your comment about retiring 4 years ago is idiotic at best.

BTW do you fill in for Railbird when he is unavailable to post?

youve never even watched a giants game DW. sportscenter clips dont count.

barry is a prick

he'll giggle when two unearned come in becuase of him, he wont run for first, he wont play D but you guys are so excited he can hit the long ball on occasion who gives a crap. this guy is far from being a good ball player. barry as a good ball player, that was gone 5 years ago. i dont know how a guy that has zero d and cant run for first but whacks 50 homeruns with a .350 average i dont see why you num nuts think this makes for a good player. i cant get over it.

if you let 3-4 runs score and youre a fat ass dude who gets lucky and takes one out this is like a 2-3 run difference against you plus i didnt run for first so i give my opponent an extra out. i dont see why this is so hard.

Unless you put down the booze and grab a cup of coffee I can't go on with this debate:mad: As I said Barry is at the age where DH is better suited for him, but it's either play the OF or sit. If you think the Giants are a better team without him your nuts. Obviously we can all agree with you that Barry does not have the complete game he once did, but that stuff happens when you turn 40. Now if you keep up with the name calling your going to make me angry:)

Barry Bonds is the most dominant athlete in history. The only reason that anyone would bash him would be racism. Which, when you think about it, makes perfect sense considering that clown Mullins' position on the matter.

I haven't heard anyone call Manning lazy for throwing the ball away instead of running upfield for a few yards.

Dicky,
I don't know what's wrong with some of these people -- do you think they all drown their degenerate losing sours with paint chips?

lander, that may be one of the stupidest posts you've ever made.

Blue,
Considering the competition, I can take solace in the fact that my worst post is still more inciteful that 95% of the best posts made by my "peers" (and I say peers with hesistation).

be that is it may, to say that critizing bonds for a lack of hustle is racist is ridiculous.

Blue, are you suggesting that Bonds only hustles 3/5ths as much as Manning?

come on lander. a qb throwing the ball away rather than taking a hit is not lazy...it is smart. whether the qb is black or white.

hitting a long flyball and standing at home plate posing while it hits off the wall is cocky, lazy, arrogant, stupid, whatever you want to call it. whether its jim edmonds, barry bonds or sammy sosa. that is not how you play the game.

its really too bad that pete rose had to mess up and bet on the reds because, if his image wasn't so tarnished, he would be the ulitmate model of how to play the game of baseball. there are very few guys today that play the game like pete did. and, far too many that play like bonds does.

Bonds not risking a hamstring injury by Ichiro-ing out of the box is smart.
