If we compare the two largest operations, BetonSports and Sportingbet and its network of affiliates, real players will immediately understand what I mean.
Despite the size of the operation Betonsports is ALWAYS responsive to the mediation of watchdog sites in a matter of hours. Sportingbet, on the other hand, makes everyone sweat to get an answer which usually comes in days, when it comes.
Betonsports closes an account and sends the entire balance to the players. Sportingbet and its network of affiliates normally refunds players their INITIAL DEPOSITS, confiscates winnings, and makes players and watchdogs sweat for weeks if not months to rectify the situation.
When an employee makes an obvious mistake or says something wrong, like in this case, the book's middle and upper management immediately intervenes to rectify the situation.
When an employee at sportingbet makes an obvious mistake or says something wrong the player has absolute certainty to receive an email confirming the mistake and closing with "management decision is final."
If a player requests a neteller payout at Betonsports he will receive it within 24 hours. No bullshit asked, no deposits to verify the account, no hassle.
If a player requests a neteller payout at any of the sportingbet's affiliates he has a 50% chance to have his account "audited" (read - 1 week delay), he will be paid within 72 hours and if his account is not "verified" he will get a check instead (obviously without being told of the change of mean of payment).
If a player bets steam he will be profiled at betonsports. If a player bets steam at any of the sportingbet affiliates he will have his account locked, his payout request put under audit and he will have a 50% chance of having to go thru the hoops cause he might receive his initial deposit back only.
Yet....... BetonSports, for a reason or another, is being mocked and attacked at every chance. Primarily by posters who have no experience there, who have never had an account there, basically who cannot know what they are talking about because they simply don't know it.
This post is not meant to defend an advertiser. Its meant to highlight the differences between two comparable operations, sizewise, and to underline the difference of treatment they get from a selected number of posters.
God forbids Betonsports dealt with players like the new Hollywood has and is doing. They would certainly enjoy the largest negative exposure in the history of sports gambling forums ever.
Note for Chuck Sims - I know you had a bad experience at Millenium before it became part of Betonsports. I know Millenium, once under the betonsports umbrella, offered you to solve your dispute. Solution which you declined to accept. I gather bashing them is more entertaining than accepting a solution. Way to go...not IMHO.
not surprising to see that the vast majority of negative comments come from posters who very likely don't play there nor ever had an account there to begin with.

The pile on crowd seem to show up on que depending upon the book being mentioned.. If you actually have a beef fine - if you want to voice your opinion, fine go ahead and do so - the same old it's a shit book ad nauseam posting gets tiresome.
I know a BOS employee said something to Ladeda that was not really company policy and getting those kind of thngs corrected is one of the big reasons why this forum exists. Same with the American Idol bet that ended up standing bad line and all.
No bets were cancelled - sure Ladeda's account was closed for what appears to be chasing steam and it is most unfortunate he has to wait until the BOS payout department opens on Monday to get his balance (in full) and Mr. Smith can't bet props at BOS anymore but no one is being stiffed and no winning bets are going ungraded and or unpaid..
In the end BOS does have excellent people in responsible positions that will handle any dispute that players may have. I very much wish all the books I dealt with were as responsive as they are.
Anyway it looks like BOS is this or that day 2...

I'm out of date..

This is disturbing. A couple of weeks ago when I opened my account I placed an incorrect wager. I wanted an over/under but clicked on the +1.5/-1.5 by accident. Not realizing until after I confirmed, I got on the phone to see about changing it. They told me that since the line I get changed I could not cancel the bet. I understood since it was my error and let the bet stand. Now they say if the line changes in your favor (steam), they are going to cancel the wager???? So I guess that means they will only cancel wagers that favor them?????
This is a very bad situation. Too bad, thought they were turning the corner.

I am a head moderator at a huge sports message board, for spamming reasons I'll leave the url out.
Anyway, I have never had major problems with BOS sports, as I have had an account for 4 years now.
I have had my bet rejected a few times during a line change, but was able to place my wager within a few minutes.
They have never stiffed me requesting a payout, my only grief has been with BOSpoker, their cashier is 'down' often, but that has not been a problem latley.
Overall, I'd rate them a B+, but that's just me.
