I've dealt with Jamie a few times and he's a great guy to sort out problems - for me at least.

Not bad for a welshman.

Its no longer surprising to see the pileup of negative posts when BetonSports is being brought up for a dispute. Like its not surprising to see that the vast majority of negative comments come from posters who very likely don't play there nor ever had an account there to begin with.

If we compare the two largest operations, BetonSports and Sportingbet and its network of affiliates, real players will immediately understand what I mean.

Despite the size of the operation Betonsports is ALWAYS responsive to the mediation of watchdog sites in a matter of hours. Sportingbet, on the other hand, makes everyone sweat to get an answer which usually comes in days, when it comes.

Betonsports closes an account and sends the entire balance to the players. Sportingbet and its network of affiliates normally refunds players their INITIAL DEPOSITS, confiscates winnings, and makes players and watchdogs sweat for weeks if not months to rectify the situation.

When an employee makes an obvious mistake or says something wrong, like in this case, the book's middle and upper management immediately intervenes to rectify the situation.

When an employee at sportingbet makes an obvious mistake or says something wrong the player has absolute certainty to receive an email confirming the mistake and closing with "management decision is final."

If a player requests a neteller payout at Betonsports he will receive it within 24 hours. No bullshit asked, no deposits to verify the account, no hassle.

If a player requests a neteller payout at any of the sportingbet's affiliates he has a 50% chance to have his account "audited" (read - 1 week delay), he will be paid within 72 hours and if his account is not "verified" he will get a check instead (obviously without being told of the change of mean of payment).

If a player bets steam he will be profiled at betonsports. If a player bets steam at any of the sportingbet affiliates he will have his account locked, his payout request put under audit and he will have a 50% chance of having to go thru the hoops cause he might receive his initial deposit back only.

Yet....... BetonSports, for a reason or another, is being mocked and attacked at every chance. Primarily by posters who have no experience there, who have never had an account there, basically who cannot know what they are talking about because they simply don't know it.

This post is not meant to defend an advertiser. Its meant to highlight the differences between two comparable operations, sizewise, and to underline the difference of treatment they get from a selected number of posters.

God forbids Betonsports dealt with players like the new Hollywood has and is doing. They would certainly enjoy the largest negative exposure in the history of sports gambling forums ever.

Note for Chuck Sims - I know you had a bad experience at Millenium before it became part of Betonsports. I know Millenium, once under the betonsports umbrella, offered you to solve your dispute. Solution which you declined to accept. I gather bashing them is more entertaining than accepting a solution. Way to go...not IMHO.

Hey there Roberto how are you? Did that Bet On Stars fiasco ever get figured out? Did those players waiting for a payout for weeks finally get paid?

What else is new.... I understand Ladeda being upset and Mr. Smith's dismay about being labeled a bad line player. The pile on crowd seem to show up on que depending upon the book being mentioned.. If you actually have a beef fine - if you want to voice your opinion, fine go ahead and do so - the same old it's a shit book ad nauseam posting gets tiresome.

I know a BOS employee said something to Ladeda that was not really company policy and getting those kind of thngs corrected is one of the big reasons why this forum exists. Same with the American Idol bet that ended up standing bad line and all.

No bets were cancelled - sure Ladeda's account was closed for what appears to be chasing steam and it is most unfortunate he has to wait until the BOS payout department opens on Monday to get his balance (in full) and Mr. Smith can't bet props at BOS anymore but no one is being stiffed and no winning bets are going ungraded and or unpaid..

In the end BOS does have excellent people in responsible positions that will handle any dispute that players may have. I very much wish all the books I dealt with were as responsive as they are.

Anyway it looks like BOS is this or that day 2...

As I have mentioned many times before in this forum, would consider myself basically a MIDSIZED-ROLLER overall and routinely make wagers in the $1,000-$5000 range with no reservations whatsoever at BOS and currently have have more $$ in this book than ANY other offshore operation.

What continues to amaze me is this issue of "Chasing Steam" If "chasing steam" is Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo Bad, why do the books continue to let the "STEAM ORIGINATORS" PLAY? The "Regular Players" are paying for the sins of the "Steam Originators" It seems the OBVIOUS SOLUTION is to cut the "Steam Originators" off. Like I said earlier, some books are NOT satisfied with a 95% edge. Is it not "CURIOUS" that the Majority of complaints are lodged at a minuscule number of books? You can paint a hogs face with lipstick but it will still be a HOG. LT

go2guy,

Not that is pertinent to this thread but...yes, the solution to the betonstars situation is figured out since last week Monday.

Once formers owners hand over all information and wagering servers the incoming owner will reopen for operation with no strings for players.

This means that all players who have completed their rollover obligations, more than 50% of the players with a balance there, will have immediate access to their funds.

Why is it taking so long ? Well, we've brought the buyer to the table, we've negotiated that players should not endure any kind of additional string. The delay at this point is the sole responsibility of the former owners.

We've gone a long way to arrange a solution in players' best interest, unfortunately we cannot force the outgoing party to do what they should have done a week ago.

Hopefully the process will be completed early next week.

Thanks for asking.

Apparently this is not always the case as it is going to take well over 24 hours to get paid by Neteller. THis isn't even winning we are talking about, it is the remains of my last two deposits. Add to it that my account is now locked and I dont even have the option to bet with that money. Makes it a bit worse.

So much for no bullshit , no hassle.

Will,

I thought their payout department didn't open till Monday?

and it is most unfortunate he has to wait until the BOS payout department opens on Monday to get his balance

I actually like BOS, and i'll continue to play there. Let's not try to make BOS into something it isn't (It's not Pinny, it's not Sportingbet).

That was something that I thought also but I went to their website and see you can request a payout 24/7 now.

I'm out of date..

:toast:

Cheer's to that will. I for one have never actually had a bad experience there. I don't think anyone should be allowed to rip a book without first having dealt with them.

Well said TN, very disturbing, the original post in addition to TN's info makes me wonder why we would want to deal with this type of operation.

Regarding Tomorrow's Newspaper post.

This is disturbing. A couple of weeks ago when I opened my account I placed an incorrect wager. I wanted an over/under but clicked on the +1.5/-1.5 by accident. Not realizing until after I confirmed, I got on the phone to see about changing it. They told me that since the line I get changed I could not cancel the bet. I understood since it was my error and let the bet stand. Now they say if the line changes in your favor (steam), they are going to cancel the wager???? So I guess that means they will only cancel wagers that favor them?????

This is a very bad situation. Too bad, thought they were turning the corner.

Players that make an error placing a bet at BOS can ask for the bet to be cancelled but if the line has moved I doubt if they will have any luck.

As far as cancelling bets go I repeat:

NO BETS ARE GOING TO BE CANCELLED BECAUSE OF LINE CHANGES IN THE FAVOR OF A PLAYER or any other reason...It is not going to happen.

I think I posted this three times now in this thread.

Thanks Wil, just checked and I was paid today. I even got the .55 in my account. I didn't even know books could send cents using neteller.

Ladeda, I am glad the issue is settled. I wish it had been different but in the end no wagers were cancelled and all funds paid.

Thanks for being patient, wil...

Hi gang, allow me to introduce myself, the name is Bill, and this is my first post here.
I am a head moderator at a huge sports message board, for spamming reasons I'll leave the url out.

Anyway, I have never had major problems with BOS sports, as I have had an account for 4 years now.
I have had my bet rejected a few times during a line change, but was able to place my wager within a few minutes.
They have never stiffed me requesting a payout, my only grief has been with BOSpoker, their cashier is 'down' often, but that has not been a problem latley.
Overall, I'd rate them a B+, but that's just me.
