Not being one to take the side of the book, but areef did indicate the line they SAY they "meant" to post was -500/+300.
If that is true, and I have now way of knowing, didn't look at any of those lines anywhere, then their position may be

-line was a mistaken post (human error)
-bad line as it was 0ver 100% off what they meant to post

Didn't see the usuall mumbo jumbo in the rules about bad lines,

only rule #10 Casablanca Sportsbook™ reserves the right to "add, delete or change" house wagering rules and payoffs odds.

Doesn't really help you areeef. Sorry.

What was the other side of their listed line. You said +605 what was the "-"?

I think they were around the lines at CBS. CBS was just slow in changing them....

"Now this line wasn't too off"...geez where have I heard that before. CBS is as vanilla as they come with lines. No way you will ever find them sticking their neck out like that. They should have either cancelled the bet up front or paid you what the line was supposed to be if they didn't see it until after the match. I'd speak with Dave ASAP. And next time be careful about playing large scalps with smaller books. It's a recipe for disaster.

Dave won't talk to me about the matter. He just yells in the background while i talk to max on the phone and says he did me a favor grading the wager +300 for 500.00.

Ok Dave is a complete idiot...

1) He says this is a bad line, which we have all agreed was not a bad line
2) He now says my account was not configured properly and that this bet was a "proposition" but my account wasn't set right and my limit should be 200? Is that my fault? We will all agree no.
3) He says i normally bet much less? He's on crack. My first bet at his book was for 4000 laying some serious chalk in the NCAA tournament when they had Florida -3999 which was a sweet price compared to -6000 elsewhere. This was not a bad line. It was just a good opinionated price.

My other bets were 500-1000 and he says i've bet there 3-4 times. SO 4000,500,500,1000 is still an average of over 1000.00 which my bet was of 1000.00

We gave it to you for $500 because that is your average bet amount. You bet more on this wager because you were taking advantage of the bad line.

You can continue your antics on the forums as long as you wish. Under normal circumstances your entire wager would have been cancelled and you would receive nothing for the wager. Also, the max limit on the Matchups (Prop bets) is $200. I could have maxed the wager out at $200 as well. Your account was not set properly. You should have only been allowed to wager $200 as posted on the website.

I was trying to be fair because it was the first time we found you taking advantage of a situation.

betCBS is a good book. We honor a 10 cent line if you wish. We pay seven days a wek. We give back 5% weekly on your win or loss. The only thing I dont put up with is players who dont play everyweek and only make a bet when a wrong line is posted. That is your situation. Your not a serious player at betCBS. Im sure you have alot of accounts. You are welcome to only make one or two bets every couple weeks. However, dont come in and bet a wrong line for the max limit when you normally bet much less and then complain afterwards.

My solution was fair and equitable. I wont discuss it any longer. Trash my book if you dont agree with the decision. Close your account if you like.

Oh,my. The list of shitbooks gets longer and longer. Add two more to the list:BETCBS/Casablanca.This is unforgivable, as many have said.Cancelling winning bets? NICE,VERY NICE.Why bet at all, if, when we win,they cancel our winning play?

I will contact them myself and see if they will add anything to this or are open to at least discussing this. From the sound of that note it sounds pretty final, I hope not.

Let's hear what others say on this as well so we will have more opinions while I try and contact them. If the price is +550 elsewhere hard for me to swallow +605 is a bad line. Let me look at it more before I comment one way or another.....

Well yesterday I asked them again to stop freaking sending me an email everyday for posting up and today gave me even more of a reason not to deal with BetCBS in the future even if they do spin control here. I don't want to be on the butt end of some crap like this. There's too many quality books out there to deal with who wouldn't pull this crap.

From Dave's email it looks like he has seen what is happening at this forum. Dave, sir, take notice that the vast majority of players/customers/potential customers, etc. believe that you are egregiously in the wrong here.

Average bet? That's crap! A lot of people vary their bet size and if they see something of value (like a nice large dog) they hit it harder. That is a players' right! But I guess when you play at CBS you determine what the player shoudl wager. As for the max, you ste it improperly. Listen, players use many different books with may different max's on different types of wagers. It is THE BOOK'S reponsibility to know what their limits are and to set it properly, not the player. Good grief!

Who cares how often he bets. You have some kind of rule on how often a player has to bet? Or that a player has to play soft lines as well as generous ones? To be blunt, **** OFF. It is books like yours that give the industry a bad name. Say what you want, but we all now know that BetCBS is NOT a good book. We are not stupid, we can see through the bullshit. I hope this decision for you was worth getting a trash reputation.

There are obvious bad lines and then there are opinionated lines.

One could have reasonably concluded that this was an opiniated line if there were +550's out there.

Man I would be fuming if this happened to me.

This is so ridiculous. Whatever happened to if you book a bet, pay it when it wins, collect it when it loses. The book sees that it lost 100K on a bet and they dont like it so they will say its a bad line(when its only 55cents more then others???) and cut their losses to 50k by paying out at +300? LOL. And they think they are doing a favor to the player? Without players you have NO BOOK. RESPECT YOUR PLAYERS and they in turn will RESPECT YOU. A lot of books here like to complain that they are always being blasted here. Well how come there are some books here that never get blasted here? Is it because they know how to treat their players and don't try to pull dumb crap like this on them?

And Dave I cannot believe you said that you will pay what his average bet is. Do everyone a favor and get out of this business now. What a shady thing to do. My bets range between $100 to 5dimes. $100 on parlays. Would you count that towards my average? I am so disgusted with this book. I will never do business with them now.
