Be honest, who was the player you thought was a 'can`t miss' and turned out to be a lemon?

The guy I was most wrong about was Leaf. He was the 2nd best College QB I've seen, behind Elway. I thought he'd be a superstar, and way better than Peyton.
I'd still give him a shot if I was a team that could afford to gamble, but I know that won't happen.
The guy I was most right about was Ron Dayne. I knew he'd be the absolute dog he turned out to be, and was shocked everyone else couldn't see it.

Felipe Lopez. I actually bet my friend a case of beer that he would be better than Iverson.

Rail and Winky,
Tom Lewis played on that same USC team with Bo Kimble and Hank Gathers when they were freshman. They all left when Stan Morrison got axed as the coach.
Bo and Hank went to LMU, and Tommy went to Pepperdine. I do know Tom had a kid in college and that took some of his desire and attention away from the game.
As for Bo and Hank, well they were a part of a legendary team, in my opinion, THE MOST ENTERTAINING college basketball team ever. Sadly, we know what happened to Hank, and Bo, although unstoppable as a collegian, was a quick flameout in the pros.

Sam Horn, yeah that guy was HUGE. I bet if he had Barry's stash of 'roids, he coulda hit 80.

Mark Merchant was a big disappointment. 2nd pick behind Griffey, Jr. in draft. At the time, some were actually debating who would be the better player. Merchant never made it past double-a.

Best high school football player I ever saw play was this kid named Allen Iverson. Anybody know why he never made it to the NFL, lol.

A couple years later, a kid named Ronald Curry was supposed to be Iverson's equal without the attitude. He turned out to be a dud at QB and a mediocre point guard at UNC, and occasionally returned icks for the Oakland Raiders. I still think if he had gone to Florida St. he would have been the next Charlie Ward.
