Nuckers how old are you?
A lot of younger people go down to the Full Moon Party in Ko Pha Ngan
Koh Samui has good night life too
BKK is just the hub to go south or north, and agree Chaing Mai was wicked.....

If you go make sure you visit VD, you wont regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!

:toast:

34 and I've heard about the full moon party, heard they tend to be sausage parties but can't go there and not experience it if the timing works out.

Chang Mai getting great feedback, I'll check it out and when I make it down if he's down I'd definitely meet up with VD

Loved chaing mai and pai is about 2 hours from there very laidback artist community. I would live in chaing mai if I could move to Thailand.

Raoul Duke and others who have been to Chaing Mai - Is it hot and humid there?

I can't stand hot and humid - that's the only reason I haven't gone to Thailand long ago.
I understand that the country is hot all the time.

I know that Chang Mai is in the mountains, but is it still high humidity?

North Thailand has three distinct seasons:

  1. The Hot (Summer) Season extends from March through May. Daytime temperatures can be unbearably hot during this period.
  2. The Rainy Season, from May through October.
  3. The Cool (Winter) Season, from November through February.
With regard to weather, the most pleasant time to visit the north is the cool season between November and February when rainfall is negligible, humidity is relatively low, and temperatures are mild (warm days and cool nights). Chiang Mai's average annual temperature is a pleasant 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). During the hot (summer) season, daytime highs can reach 42 degrees C (107 degrees F). During the cool (winter) season, night-time lows can drop below 10 degrees C (50 degrees F) in the city and 4 degrees C (39 degrees F) in the mountains. Doi Inthanon and other peaks can experience freezing conditions at night.
Annual rainfall totals 1,098 millimeters or about 40 inches. Most of the rain falls during the six months from May through October. August is the wettest month, averaging 226 millimeters. Between January and March there are only traces of precipitation.

Thai prostitutes rate Czechs ‘fifth best clients’

Three years of research by Thai sociologist reveals Slovaks are local sex workers’ most preferred customers, Swedes the least

Prostitution in Thailand is illegal but openly practiced in cities like Pattaya and in Bangkok’s Patpong district

Thai professor of sociology Sathit Niyomyat, a former assistant dean at the prestigious Thammasat University and the author of numerous studies on gender issues, has published some surprising results following a three-year research project during which she interviewed some 470 local women working in the sex industry.
In an anonymous survey, Thai prostitutes were asked to rank their preferred nationality among foreign clients — more than 6,000 of them in total — based on a variety of criteria. “We were interested in how demanding they were, the length of sexual activity, consumption of alcohol, behavior and degree of coarseness, and the solvency of sex tourists, based on nationality,” Prof. Niyomyat said, as quoted by the Czech tabloid Blesk.

Although Slovaks topped the rankings, followed by the French and Americans, the study reportedly points out that doesn’t mean they were better lovers than the fifth-ranked Czechs: Thai sex workers have a preference for clients who are non-confrontational, undemanding — and quick.
“The least favorite customers are the Swedes. They most often seek painful practices and want sexual intercourse without a condom, often under the influence of alcohol, which prolongs the intercourse and is unpleasant for the girls,” Prof. Niyomyat said.
Favorite foreign customers of Thai sex workers

1. Slovaks (86% rating)
2. French (83%)
3. Americans (74%)
4. Belgians (72%)
5. Czechs (71%)
6. Austrians (64%)
7. Swiss and Dutch (tied at 63 %)
9. Canadians (53%)
10. Danes (49%)
27. Germans (35%)
35. Swedes (17%)
Sex tourism is particularly prevalent in South East Asia, where the connected problems of human trafficking, AIDS, and poverty, continue to flourish and claim lives at unprecedented rates. Prostitution in Thailand is illegal, although in practice it is tolerated, partly regulated, and practised openly throughout the country.
With its vast numbers of host bars, gogo bars, massage parlours, saunas, and hourly hotels, serving foreign tourists as well as locals, Pattaya is among the most notorious destinations in Thailand for sex tourism.

Cannot believe this poll....Pattaya and Bangkok have tons of English and Austrailan men living and visiting the two cities..and yet neither are mentioned...same with men from the middle east....There are very few Americans here compared to those from other cultures...

And only 470 local girls interviewed? There are over 100,000 Thai girls working in both cities on any given night...

Some of the most repugnant behavior I've seen here is from Brits and Aussies. As VD said, the number of Americans is relatively small, but I've never seen an American doing something here that made me ashamed.

I'd say Japanese are the most prefered amongst the P4P TGs. They are known as the 4-4-4's, 4 inches, 4 minutes, 4 thousand baht.

I'd guess North Koreans or Chinese are up there too. These cultures are more similar to Thailand than European or North American.

At the bottom of the list would be Indians, Middle Easterners & blacks.

The front desk staff at my hotel in BKK say Americans are their most common guests.

"According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand,[7] 55% of the tourists in 2007 came from the Asia Pacific region, Japanese and Malaysians forming the two biggest groups. The largest groups of Western tourists come from the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, the United States and Scandinavia. The number of tourists arriving from the Middle East and Russia is on the rise.[8] Around 55% of Thailand's tourists are return visitors. The peak period is during the Christmas and New Year holidays when Western tourists flee the cold conditions."

"...Sex tourism also contributes to arrival numbers. Although officially illegal, prostitution in Thailand is monitored and regulated by the government to stem the spread of STD's and to prevent excesses. Prostitution catering to foreigners is believed to be around 20% of the total prostitution scene in Thailand, and is concentrated in a few major red-light districts such as Pattaya, Patpong and Patong Beach.[10]

They are limited to the countries that they can visit....Thailand because of the weather and such, is a good destination for them...Thai immigration is easy on them...
