Ace lets say you have $500 a week budgeted for football bets from Week 1 to Super Bowl. Now lets say after week 3 you're up $500. Would you in week 4 double your weekly bets, increase your weekly bets until you lost the profit you've already made up to this point, then go back to your original betting of $500 a week or keep your bets at $500 a week for the season.

dont double down...you are building your bankroll over the whole season...and if you win more weeks than you lose you will show +$$$$....if you double...you could win more weeks and still be down....the goal is always to win the season.

best to you....Ace

Ace,

I have two questions. First what offshore book would you suggest for a US player, I am currently with Bodog? Second is there any books that you would suggest reading for handicapping football? Or any other sports? Thanks for your time, and I am glad week 4 is here!

ace-ace... just wondering if I'm doing this total thing right... so at this moment I'm waiting for the total to come out on the pats-cowboys game... but after adding the two teams avg yards subtracting by 325 and dividing by 7.5 I'm at 78.4... after this i have to subtract by the game total and see where I'm at?

thanks!

looks like it...but what is the two teams?

lets do Ind vs cinn this week 320+287 = 607-325= 282 = 37.5...that's how it works

Ace,

Just a quick question. In doing the "myline" spreadsheet, do you find that it is heavily weighted toward time of possession when it gets to this time of the year? The final spread just seems to put an awful lot of emphasis on the TOP versus the other factors. I'm wondering if you have an additional factor that I missed out on if the variance is too high (similar to the way you do for the "line-off" number)?

Ace, I just read The Smart Money Memoirs of Michael Konik. Have you heard of it or read it? What a great read. Would be good for you to read in off season if you haven't read. Sounds like they are talking about Billy Walters but they call the guy Rick Matthews. I have been reading everything I can get a hold of (Education of a Sports Bettor by Bob McCune) and How to beat the NFL pointspread by J.R. Miller. Both very informative. But the Smart Money is just a story not a handicapping book. A must read for anyone that loves football and gambling (or I should say Investing). See I'm learnin'. Take care of yourself and keep on pickin those winners.

Ace-Ace... this College Football season was my first active season of wagering... I am down 5k units on the year... any advice for a newbie like myself, so I could eventually gain those units back... I made a lot of mistakes such as chasing (which is where the first 3k units was lost) and was doing well, but had a really bad night in CBB (the other 2k units)... I see that you're doing well in CBB & will be following...

the key is not to chase...not sure how you bet...but set your bets from 1-4 units...and find 3-5 games with the most value and make a stand on those games only...each week is a battle..the goal is to win more battles than you lose..... I know someont that is 45-31 this year...you think he is winning...$100 players and down $1500!!!...if he wins he bets more....if he lose...he bets more...dont do this... make your stand and if I can help...hit my name ace-ace than view you will see how to talk to me.

best to you
Ace
