Well, my point was (and is) that if they are two consenting adults who are in a committed relationship, then it is my opinion that it should be allowed.
Who am I to stand in the way of their happiness?
Now let me ask you, what does more harm to the sanctity of a marriage? Two older ladies (or gentlemen) who decide to get married after decades together, or the guy in his thirties who is getting divorced for the third time?
BTW, I happen to know this very situation.
Great thread as I think FZ makes some very compelling points.
I wish someone was making as coherent an argument on the other side, as I enjoy reading an intelligent debate.
Allowing a heterosexual couple to divorce is a lot less damaging to society than redefining marriage to be two men or two women. What is more damaging, one divorce or one gay marriage, who knows?

pretty scary you think a coherent argument is human vs human love is = to bestiality and if they raise a child that is = to child abuse
fact is this is a country that is supposed to keep a separation between church and state. Anti-gays like to talk about the sanctity of marriage while 2.4M Americans divorced last year. Republicans, in particular, somehow walk the hypocrisy bridge by talking about personal freedoms but when it comes to certain segments of the population, like the 5% homosexuals in the usa, they don't qualify?
i really don't care if gays marry or not. chances are they'd value marriage a hell of a lot more than the 35%+ that currently divorce and since adoption is a true choice the child will probably have a much higher standard of living than if the parent(s) that gave him up were prepared for.
I pretty much say the same thing over and over and that none of these social issues are federal issues. States should be able to govern themselves and choose whether they want an income tax, make weed legal, or allow gays to marry and/or adopt.
what pisses me off is that 4-5% of Americans get this much press and I have their issue shoved in my face daily by the gaystream media. At this point it's infringing on my personal freedoms (half joking there). It's completely fn impossible to avoid hearing about it as they parade Michael Sams 5.75 40 in front of me while having Ellen host the Oscars. Again, not a federal issue...govt should NOT be interfering or even discussing this. Leave it up to the states...simple

Finally, it's been brought up at least 10 times for Justine to justify his "gay gene" comment but he's avoided it throughout the entire thread. Says a lot about his intelligence about this topic. Justin, you'd earn respect if you just admitted you were wrong and move on. Avoiding it just makes it worse junior.
Has anyone else noticed how festeringzit is never wrong. No matter what the argument is about, he's always right. It's always the other person who is an "idiot" and "retarded."
Folks, why waste time arguing with someone who is batshit crazy? Why even waste time arguing opinions. Let's present evidence for both sides and let science do the talking.
because it's comical to see someone preach verses from a 2000 year old book that clearly doesn't live a very Christian life. Dude hates everybody which I'm pretty sure is not what Christ was advocating. Plenty of people are pieces of shit for 6 days and 23 hours a week but feel cleansed after sitting in a pew for 1 hour on a Sunday and he's a tremendous representation of this.
now that doesn't absolve the resident pro-gay from giving us this proof the "gay gene".... I just enjoy the radical fringe that these subjects pull out of the woodwork
