wil- Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church is located near Rancho and Alta. I believe the church you're referring to is The Guardian Angel.

Hey did any of you know a "Canadian Bill"? He was a runner years back? What about Hank Lullo?

Eddfy- They were two of the first people I met when I moved here in 1985. I spent a lot of good times with Hank and Bill. They had both been around betting most of their lives and they had some good insight and good opinions.

I haven't seen Bill for about 5 or 6 years and I believe he is back in Edmonton but I'm not sure. Hank passed away but I can't remember exactly when. He was from Chicago and he had a son here that worked for a big insurance company. I'm glad you brought there names up. Two good people.

Horseshoe, thanks a trillion. I have been sitting here for two hours reading this. As all know, I am just dying to hear/read any stories I can on all of this stuff. The time is coming soon when it all will get out to the greater public and this amounts to finding a treasure chest full of stuff. Utterly fascinating.

Scotty and Mvbski, I will say it again, you're flat out stars and should easily be leading the charge.

I couldn't help reading this entire thread last night. Redeye and myself used to love this place in the late 80's and early 90's. As I recall they offered like free 1/2 points on Friday nights. Of course We were always there to scoop up any bargains ! Anyone here ever gamble at the Silver City Casino ? My wife worked there as a cocktail waitress until it closed about 7 years ago or so. I know almost all of the crew that worked there. If you want to go way back , her father was pit boss at the Castaways back in the mid 70's and then He moved to the Frontier until He retired around 1990. His name was Betcher. Very interesting thread for sure.

This was back in the day when you really had to work. Shuffling between Casinos, paperwork in hand, wads of cash bulging from shorts, and usually drinking a BUD , after entering every casino . Wouldn't want to go back to those days, but they do stand out in my mind as the good old days.

Yes, back then it was about the only smoke free Casino in town. Somehow it really never went over that good as it seems gambling, drinking and smoking goes hand in hand. OT Last night the jumbo jackpot was up to almost $ 144,000 and since it must hit by $ 150,000, I was at Boulder station playing the 100 % Double double Poker when it dealth me 4 Aces with a deuce ! Nice ! :103631605

OK I can recall the time you sent me to Vegas to collect all your future winnings and at 3 AM I pull my rental Car into the El Cortez dark parking lot with all this $$$ dangling out of my pocket ! Suddenly it occured to me "What am I doing down here in this dark garage in a bad area of town with all this $$$ ? " Why should anyone rob a bank when they could have probably got more $$ from me and could whack me off without a trace ?:ohno:

Looking back on that, I am wondering what we could have been thinking. If the facts were out, this Post could be up for some real serious questions. :icon_conf

Any one remember the Leaning Tower of Pizza? Was owned by Speciale and was quite a mob hangout in the day. After he dies the daughters had a line service in Vegas which I used to use.
