Fred Thompson Costa Mesa, California, has sided with Arizona, declaring itself a "Rule of Law City" where illegal immigrants are not welcome.

EDMONDS, Wash. – The KING 5 Investigators have learned that an illegal immigrant accused of raping a woman in Edmonds Sunday has been deported nine times. That's much more than previously reported.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement won't comment on the case of Jose Lopez Madrigal. But KING 5 got the information through confidential sources and documents.
Larry Klein was the man who heard the alleged victim's cries for help. Police say the suspect pulled the woman off the street to a dumpster and raped her.
"I could see the back of his head. I could see his pants were down. I could see her lying on the ground. I could hear her crying, but I couldn't really see her face," said Klein.
Klein called police, who quickly arrested the suspect. But learning his identity took much longer because of some 30 aliases. It was only through fingerprints that they identified him as Madrigal, a Mexican citizen.
Madrigal's arrest and immigration record includes a staggering number of contacts with law enforcement since 1989. That's the year he was convicted of theft using a firearm in California.
He was deported a couple of times after that. Then in 1999, he was arrested for drug sales in both San Diego and San Francisco. Records show that he was deported three times that year between April and August.
He was arrested for drugs again in Stockton, Calif. in 2000. In 2002, he pleaded to third degree sexual assault in Denver. Later that year, he was deported again. And in 2003, records show he was deported three more times.
People who live near the scene of Sunday's alleged rape wonder how it could keep happening.
"Makes you wonder, what are we doing wrong? How is he getting back in here?" said Kirby Aumick.
"It’s troubling. I mean, if this man should not have been in this country, he should have been behind bars then, really, this is a senseless tragedy," said Klein.
According to our sources, Madrigal's last contact before Sunday was around 2003. So, it's not clear how much of that time Madrigal was in this country.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has refused to comment on the case which started making national headlines when it was learned that Madrigal had been deported several times prior to the Edmonds case.
In reviewing records and talking with confidential sources, the KING 5 Investigators learned just how extensive Madrigal’s immigration and arrest record is.
They found he was first deported in California in 1989 and since then he’s returned from his Mexican homeland and been arrested for drug crimes, a sex assault in Colorado and other offenses.
One criminal justice source says Madrigal is a "poster boy" for the federal governments ineffectiveness at keeping the most serious "criminal aliens" – illegals who commit crimes – out of the United States.

May 24, 2010 Mexican citizen charged with using fake TWIC card The U.S. Department of Justice is prosecuting one port worker for allegedly using a fake Transportation Worker Identification Credential card while working in a secure area at Port Fourchon, LA. That worker now faces a possible six-month jail sentence and a fine of $100,000.
On Sunday, May 16, Eliazar Sanchez Castro, 24, of Port Arthur, TX, was leaving the port's secure area after working on scaffolding at the port when he realized he’d left his tools and baggage. Castro tried to re-enter the secure area when a port security guard noticed his TWIC card was fraudulent.
The guard also noticed that Castro’s Texas driver’s license was fake. He then detained Castro and called U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Castro told police he is a Mexican citizen, and said he’d bought his TWIC for $150 to use while working offshore. Immigration officials have detained Castro for his suspected illegal presence in the U.S., U.S. Assistant Attorney Greg Kennedy said.
More than 1.5 million U.S. workers have enrolled in TWIC, including about 283,000 truck drivers. The program was created after the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Standard TWIC enrollment costs $132.50, although workers with “current, comparable” threat assessment background checks such as hazmat endorsements, Merchant Mariner Documents or Free and Secure Trade (FAST) cards may obtain a TWIC card with a shorter lifespan for $105.25. The card is designed to last five years with new background checks.
Thirty-seven percent of respondents in a recent landlinemag.com Web poll said their TWIC cards were checked always or “most of the time” at ports they visit. Twenty-nine percent said rarely, and about one third of respondents in the unscientific poll said their TWIC cards were never checked at ports they visit.

The amendment (S.A. 4177) would require the Obama Administration over the next 12 months to finish the 700 miles of reinforced fence that already has been ordered by previous law. I know. You are wondering what is the point of a new law to require the fence when the Administration has just ignored the old law ordering the same thing? The main point is to get something on record from THIS Congress that will highlight the Administration's refusal to obey the law thus far. The majority of the 700 miles of fence has yet to be built.
BOTTOM LINE ANALYSIS
Pres. Obama definitely blinked today in the face-off between pro-enforcement and pro-amnesty Americans.
His announcement of sending 1,200 National Guard troops to the border and asking for an extra half-billion dollars for border security shows that he and his advisors are acknowledging that most Americans sided with Arizona Gov. Brewer and against the Obama Administration in regards to the new Arizona enforcement law.
Rosemary Jenks (our Director of Government Relations) put things immediately into perspective:
"Do you understand that we currently have 20,000 Border Patrol, and they aren't coming close to keeping the borders secure? What is a mere placement of 1,200 National Guard going to do, especially since they can only provide a support function?"
Under current conditions and policies, it would take thousands of National Guard to make a difference.
But if the Administration would change its own internal policies, we probably wouldn't need any National Guard or extra money, Rosemary suggests.
We could get by with 20,000 Border Patrol if:
The Administration would allow the 20,000 current Border Patrol agents to do their jobs the way the law prescribes. Stop managers from blocking the agents at every turn. And provide leadership that encourages aggressive performance of enforcement duties. This is the fourth Administration in a row that has insisted that the agents do their jobs in figurative handcuffs.
The Administration would spend the border security and immigration enforcement money that already is in the budget for the things intended. Rosemary isn't sure that DHS needs another half billion dollars. What it needs is for DHS Chief Napolitano to stop diverting enforcement funds for other uses or ineffective uses. Spend the money on tough enforcement.
If the Administration would throw all its legislative muscle into passing the SAVE Act, which not only would provide beefed up border and interior enforcement but would begin turning off the jobs magnet almost immediately. Without the promise of jobs in this country, the flow of illegal aliens across the border would dry up to a trickle of its current level and make it possible for the current Border Patrol to provide wonderful security for the country.
If the Administration would pass the fence amendment (SA 4177) to the Emergency Supplemental bill as proposed by Sen. DeMint (R-S.C.).

You can be sure that the President's announcements today are a reflection that White House advisors know just how badly the immigration issue is hurting Obama and the chances for vulnerable Democrats to hold on to their seats this fall.
This has happened in part because of constant constituency protest against the open-borders rhetoric of the Administration. Now, Americans need to let federal leaders know that they will not be silenced by virtually empty public relations gestures.

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the
Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza .
The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United
States , was signed and appears in the Federal Register.
Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to
individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic
Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January
2006.
Let's review.....itemized list of some of Barack Obama ' s most
recent actions since his inauguration:
His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.
His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.
His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the U. S. , but within the world, using U. S. tax payer funds.
He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.
He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.
He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS
Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.
Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer
expense.
These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

In response to widespread outrage over the deteriorating situation on the Mexican border, President Obama announced he is sending 1,200 National Guard troops to the border and requesting an extra $500 million for border security.
The deployment of 1,200 soldiers--who will play a supporting role and not have arrest authority--will make little difference along the length of the 2,000-mile border. As Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever said, "It's like spitting into the wind."
Obama's belated response comes after several national polls show overwhelming support for Arizona's immigration law in spite of the repeated criticism from Obama, Attorney General Holder, and DHS Secretary Napolitano. The troop deployment is political window-dressing, not a change in policy. The Obama administration could increase enforcement and support legislation that would stem illegal immigration and secure the border.
