Some truths about illegal immigrants

Clarice Feldman

Those who oppose the enforcement of our immigration laws are peddling the story that the aliens here are hard working law abiding folks. Many are. But many are not.

On April 7, 2007, the US Justice Department issued a report on criminal aliens that were incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails.
In the population study of 55,322 illegal aliens, researchers found that they were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990.

They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien. One arrest incident may include multiple offenses, a fact that explains why there are nearly one and half times more offenses than arrests. Almost all of these illegal aliens were arrested for more than 1 offense. Slightly more than half of the 55,322 illegal aliens had between 2 and 10 offenses.

More than two-thirds of the defendants charged with an immigration offense were identified as having been previously arrested. Thirty-six percent had been arrested on at least 5 prior occasions; 22%, 2 to 4 times; and 12%,1 time.
Even when the Administration tries to hustle and show they are really doing their job, their own figures show the inadequacy of the job being done.
The AP reported Friday that it had rounded up 596 illegal aliens in the Southeast as a result of a three day roundup.
The kicker though, is this from the article; a number of the illegals (144) had previously been convicted on assault charges and 3 had been convicted of murder.
What were those people still doing here?
And then there's this: Twelve had been previously arrested on immigration charges and apparently illegally reentered.
An essential element of sovereignty is that each nation has the right to determine the criteria for entry and residence within its borders. It's time our law makers and border enforcement officials give this perfectly obvious principle heed.

Friends of ALIPAC,

We have been working through the night trying to determine if the picture we received several copies of is real or a forged parody.

This picture is already going viral on the Internet and we cannot track it back to a source yet. The picture does not obviously appear to be altered and rumors online claim the picture was taken by police in Phoenix, Arizona during the pro Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty marches on May 1, 2010.

However, if this picture is a hoax then we want to get that information out there as soon as possible to clear things up for those circulating the picture already.

We are putting this e-mail alert and picture out there and sending copies to Snopes in the hopes that we can determine who took this picture or who made this picture.

We are also sending this picture to our media list with requests for assistance determining if this picture is authentic or a hoax.

The sign reads "Health care jobs no-taxes house food you owe us America! We will shoot more police in Arizona till we get free!

We will update everyone if we can make a determination.

If you have any opinions or information about this picture, or if you can help us track the source, please post at this link...

All your calls and emails had a big impact on the final vote.

Although H.R. 2499 passed the House by a vote of 223-169 last Thursday, that vote was misleading. The real vote came on a motion to recommit H.R. 2499 sponsored by Republican Representative Doc Hastings (R-WA), which came within 4 votes of passing, 194-198. That was a razor thin victory for a bill that had the full backing of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and an impassioned endorsement by Democratic House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer on the floor of the House.

The bill's chance of passing was enhanced by the adoption of a worthless amendment on English sponsored by two pro-statehood Republicans, Rep. Dan Burton (IN) and Rep. Don Young (AK). The amendment says that any official language requirements of the federal government will also apply to Puerto Rico to the extent that they apply throughout the country. It is meaningless because the federal government has no official language, and under our federal system states have wide power to make their own decisions regarding language. The Democratic Leadership allowed the amendment as a fig leaf to take the place of Republican Rep. Paul Broun's (GA) amendment requiring Puerto Rico to adopt English as the language of its government prior to becoming a state, which they refused to allow on the floor.

184 Democrats and 39 Republicans voted for the bill on final passage. The fact that 58 Republicans originally co-sponsored the bill shows the success we had in changing people's positions. In other action the House adopted an amendment by Republican Rep. Virginia Foxx (NC) stipulating that an option to remain a Commonwealth has to appear on the ballot in any second round of voting, which will frustrate statehood forces' plan to engineer a false landslide vote in favor of statehood.

The bill now goes to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources which it has to pass before it is eligible for a vote in the Senate. We already are working with our allies in the Senate to stop it. We will keep you posted as the bill moves forward.

Thank you again!

Posted on Wednesday, May 05 @ 01:56:20 EDT
Topic: Crimes Scenes illegal immigration laws </TD></TR><TR><TD bgColor=#ffffff> Federal authorities have taken the unusual step of seeking the forfeiture of an actual business that is suspected of employing illegal aliens. The French Gourmet, a San Diego-area bakery, its president and a manager have been charged with conspiring to engage in a pattern or practice of hiring and continuing to employee unauthorized workers (a misdemeanor) in addition to 14 felony counts, including making false statements and shielding undocumented alien employees from detection.

Subjects: Illegal immigration, employment verification, I-9 forms, no match letters, worksite enforcement, employers charged, USCIS

According to the indictment, the owner and managers, certified on the firm's Employment Verification Forms (I-9) that the documents they examined appeared to be genuine, and to the best of the their knowledge, the employees listed on the I-9 were eligible to work in the United States. They then place the workers on the company's payroll and paid them by paycheck until they received "No Match" letters from the Social Security Administration (SSA) advising that the Social Security numbers being used by the employees did not match the names of the rightful owners of those numbers. The indictment goes on to allege that after receiving the "no match" letters, the company conspired to pay the undocumented employees in cash until the workers produced a new set of employment documents with different Social Security numbers.

In May 2008, ICE agents executed a federal search warrant at The French Gourmet and arrested 18 undocumented workers. During the searches, ICE agents seized employee and payroll records as evidence in the criminal case.

"Employers have a responsibility for maintaining the integrity of their workforce," said Mike Carney, acting special agent in charge for ICE Office of Investigations in San Diego. "This indictment shows ICE's commitment to holding businesses accountable when they repeatedly ignore immigration laws as it relates to their workforce. The goal of our enforcement effort is two-fold, first to reduce the demand for illegal employment and, second, to protect job opportunities for the nation's lawful workforce."

ICE has reported that in fiscal year 2009, worksite investigations resulted in a total of 410 criminal arrests, including 114 management personnel.

Other Recent ICE Actions

Missouri Roofing Company

On February 3, 2010, the owner of a Bolivar, Missouri, roofing company was sentenced in federal court to forfeit more than $180,000.00 and pay a $36,000.00 fine for knowingly hiring illegal aliens following a worksite enforcement investigation conducted by ICE.

Russell D. Taylor pleaded guilty Sept. 14, 2009, to knowingly hiring, contracting and sub-contracting to hire illegal aliens from August 2006 through April 2008.

The court ordered Taylor to forfeit to the government $185,363.00, which represented the amount of proceeds obtained as a result of the offense, and to pay a fine of $36,000, representing a $3,000 fine for each of the 12 illegal aliens who worked under company supervision. A company supervisor also pleaded guilty in a separate but related case to harboring illegal aliens. Taylor was also sentenced to serve five years of probation, implement an employment-compliance plan and pay the $185,363 forfeiture amount in monthly installments during the first 30 months of probation.

Hanover, Maryland Restaurant

On February 16, 2010, the owner of a Hanover, Md., Chinese restaurant was arrested and charged with transporting, employing and harboring illegal aliens.

The criminal complaint alleges that, between January, 2009, and February 4, 2010, Yen Wan Cheng knowingly hired aliens who were not authorized to work in the United States, transported the aliens to their jobs, and harbored them in residences she provided. According to the criminal complaint, five aliens were specifically identified during the investigation as working at the restaurant and residing in a home Cheng owns in Columbia, Md.

She faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison for employing illegal aliens and five years in prison each for transporting illegal aliens, harboring aliens and harboring aliens for financial gain.

Reno, Nevada Electronics Firm

On March 4, 2010, the owner of a Reno, Nev., electronics manufacturing company was indicted by a federal grand jury on six counts of encouraging illegal aliens to reside in the United States and aiding and abetting.

According to the indictment, between March 2005 and May 2009, Hamid Ali Zaidi, owner of Vital Systems Corporation, allegedly encouraged six illegal aliens to work at his company and therefore to reside in the United States, knowing that such residence was in violation of federal law.

If convicted, Zaidi faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on each count.

Baltimore, Maryland Restaurants

On March 11, 2010, ICE agents in Baltimore conducted enforcement operations at two Maryland restaurants, one office and several residences as part of an ongoing investigation.

ICE agents arrested 29 undocumented aliens for being unlawfully present in the United States.

Beaufort County South Carolina, Restaurants and Residences

On March 24, 2010, ICE reported its agents and Beaufort, South Carolina, County Sheriff's Office ICE Task Force officers executed search warrants at two Jade Garden Chinese restaurants in Bluffton, South Carolina, and several residences, arresting 15 workers who are in the country illegally. The owner of the restaurant, an ICE immigration fugitive, was also arrested.

The criminal investigation into this case is ongoing. The U.S. Attorney's Office will make a determination on whether federal criminal charges will be pursued.

Employment Verification

Under Citizenship and Immigration Services' ("USCIS") regulations, employers are required to complete and retain a Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. Form I-9 requires employers to review and record the individual's identity and employment eligibility document(s), and to determine whether the document(s) reasonably appear to be genuine as well as related to the individual.

An additional method for employers to verify employment eligibility is through the use of the E-Verify program. This is an online system that accesses Homeland Security and Social Security databases and can provide almost instant confirmation of a worker's ability to work in the United States. However, the USCIS has announced it intends to begin data mining the information it obtains through E-Verify to identify patterns of misuse and fraudulent documentation.

Please save the date for Saturday, June 5, 2010 as we plan to announce a national march to help Arizona and support SB 1070.

As a top coalition leader in the immigration enforcement movement who has paved the way on building contacts and alliances within the Tea Party movement, ALIPAC is currently talking with activists and leaders about these plans.

For the last six days, many of us have been discussing what we can do to help Arizona and America.

The answer is that we are going to conduct a mega rally in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday June 5.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Amnesty legislation must be stopped and now it is time for our movement to step up, take the lead, and do what we did in 2006 and 2007, when we stopped AMNESTY before. Our experience and success at stopping bad legislation coming out of DC, combined with the protest energy of the Tea Party movement, should prove to be a successful combination, if properly structured.

Dan Smeriglio of Voice of the People USA has the ball rolling and several groups and organizations are already signing up with us. We have been talking with and working with Dan and many other leaders preparing for this national effort.

If your favorite immigration enforcement movement or Tea Party Movement group would like to be a part of our efforts on June 5, please write to
WilliamG@alipac.us and include your name, address, phone number, leadership position, and group name.

We are going to need groups, activists, and leaders to help us bring caravans and buses in from other states into Phoenix on June 5.

We will also need help using our website at
www.AgainstAmnesty.com to arrange more rallies June 5 through June 13 in 49 state capitals across America. People can begin signing up to support this at www.AgainstAmnesty.com as we adjust the site for this new effort.

The Phoenix event on June 5 will be the kick off for the other state efforts and a week long effort called "Shop In Arizona".

Here is the Facebook page Dan has set up already for this effort at this link.

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=110559345651797

We will be announcing more details by national press release Thursday morning.

Help is on the way Arizona!

We are going to carry SB 1070 to all states!

We hope to hear from more groups soon before we put out the national release.

Sincerely,

William Gheen and The ALIPAC Team

Flag Shirt Controversy: High School Sponsors Mexican Nationalist Group

By Shane Craver on May 6, 2010

Tags: Buzz Worthy, immigration, live oak, student flag

Five High School students, wearing t-shirts bearing the American flag on a Mexican holiday, Cinco de Mayo, were suspended from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, California.
The students, who were approached by the school’s assistant principal, Miguel Rodriguez, and told to turn their t-shirts inside out, refused the order and as a result, were summoned to the principal’s office and suspended.
The school officials considered their shirts to be “incendiary” and accused the students of attempting to start a fight by wearing patriotic gear as 100 other students expressed their patriotism for Mexico by wearing red, white, and green.
It seems that Live Oak High has much deeper problems with race and culture that are condoned by the school’s administration.
One of the school’s clubs, along side the Chess Club and Drama Guild, is a club called M.E.Ch.A.
MEChA stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (Chicano Student Movement of Aztlán).
According to their national organization’s Web site, MEChA is. . .
Essentially, we are a Chicana and Chicano student movement directly linked to Aztlán. As Chicanas and Chicanos of Aztlán, we are a nationalist movement of Indigenous Gente that lay claim to the land that is ours by birthright. As a nationalist movement we seek to free our people from the exploitation of an oppressive society that occupies our land. Thus, the principle of nationalism serves to preserve the cultural traditions of La Familia de La Raza and promotes our identity as a Chicana/Chicano Gente.
The Mexican Nationalist group is very protective of its members and structures and clearing states when referring to “infiltration”:
. . . we cannot believe in unity for unity's sake since there are many opportunistic organizations, groups, and/or individuals who care only for themselves and not for our people. Just as we would expel FBI or CIA agent provocateurs from our organizations, such opportunistic organizations, groups, and/or individuals must be exposed and expelled to strengthen our Movement.
While Live Oak also sponsors clubs such as the Black Student Union, and the Asian Student Union, those groups foster and “promote activities of common interest” rather than seeking to free their people “from the exploitation of an oppressive society that occupies our land.” http://concrave.com/content/00123-f...igh-school-sponsors-mexican-nationalist-group

Stand With Arizona (and Against Illegal Immigration)'s Photos - Illlegal Immigration

We are frequently told that illegal Mexican immigrants (the vast majority of total illegals) are "just coming here to work". That they "contribute more than they take" from our nation. Well, facts are stubborn things. Data from households with at least one working person show a very different reality.

Mexican immigrants are 2.5 times as likely to be on welfare as native born Americans. 2.3 times as likely to be on food stamps. 2.5 times as likely to be receiving Medicaid payments. Over 5 times as likely to receive subsidized school lunch programs. And more than 3 times as likely to be eligible for 'Earned Income Tax Credit' (EITC) payments--a staggering 53% of all Mexican immigrants. (The EITC is also a big carrot for producing anchor babies in the U.S. Even if a child's parents are deported, any uncle, aunt, grandparent or sibling can continue to receive a check for the child).

So even among Mexican immigrants who work, the amount of welfare they drain from our system is staggering. It is simply untrue that they put in more to our nation than they take out. Moreover, the fact that their use of welfare is so high even for those who WORK--shows that any "guest worker" or amnesty program would merely blow up our deficits even further. At a time of accelerating debt and staggering unemployment, can we really afford such a massive drain on our resources?
