Pres. Obama: Your Speech Tomorrow Must Make It Clear: 'No Free Healthcare for Illegal Aliens'

We have a political emergency! And I need your activism and, if you can afford it, your donations right now to prevent something really bad from happening.
I need you to
read every word of this email. There is much information here, and I have a lot of actions I absolutely need you to do for our cause. So read on.
Tomorrow night, Pres. Barak Obama is addressing both houses of Congress and the nation on the subject of healthcare reform.
What is he going to say? Will he dig in his heels and continue to call NumbersUSA members liars?
Because that's exactly what he did yesterday, during his Cincinnati speech.
Yesterday Obama said,
"I've got a question for all these folks who say, you know, we're going to pull the plug on Grandma and this is all about illegal immigrants -- you've heard all the lies. I've got a question for all those folks: What are you going to do? What's your answer?"
So here's our answer, President Obama. State very clearly in your speech tomorrow that you won't provide subsidized health care to people without verification that they are legally in this country. In other words, no more free healthcare for illegal aliens.
Mr. President, you can clear up this entire matter in less than one minute. Think it's not an issue?

Rasmussen poll released yesterday showed that 83% of Americans say proof of citizenship should be required to get government health aid. Senator
Charles Grassley said the forthcoming House healthcare bill would allow illegal aliens to benefit through various loopholes. The Center for Immigration studies
released a study today estimating that H.R. 3200 (the main healthcare bill so far) could cost taxpayers $30 billion annually to provide health insurance for illegal aliens. We are not talking about wild-eyed conjecture. We're talking about cold-eyed analysis.
But it's much more than this legislation that has gotten NumbersUSA members and millions of other Americans so angry. We're not just angry about the future. We're furious about what's happening right now! Dr. Bill of Tennessee wrote me a hair-raising letter:
"I have been a surgeon in a small Tennessee town for over 25 years. I was on emergency room call for my local hospital one weekend and performed emergency surgery on four patients with appendicitis. Three of my four patients could not speak English. I performed the same operation on these three patients as I did the fourth. They received exactly the same quality of hospital care, the same medications, antibiotics, etc. that the fourth patient received. I did not ask about their immigration status, I just took care of them. One of these patients told me later, through a friend that spoke English, that America is a great place. If he was in Mexico and got sick, he would be expected to pay for his medical care, but here in America it was free!"

Is your blood pressure beginning to rise yet? Mine is. It gets worse. Wait till you read what Claire wrote to me:
"Even though I am ill , on social security disability and out of work I feel the need to contribute. [In August] on the front page of the Las Vegas Review Journal for all the world to see was an article about how illegal aliens go the University Medical Center 3 times per week, each and every week, to get free Kidney dialysis treatment. Each treatment costs over $18,000. There were pictures of 4 illegal's very happily receiving their "free dialysis" and saying how great this country was to them. This makes me PUKE! Where was Harry Reid? Where was President Obama or Nancy Pelosi."

No offense to Claire, but at first this story sounded like some kind of urban legend to me. So I looked it up. Yep, it's real and even worse than Claire reports. The UMC hospital in Las Vegas is spending
$2 million per month for free kidney dialysis for illegal aliens. That amounts to about a third of the hospital's annual deficit. And this doesn't include what that hospital spends on illegal aliens in all other departments!

"Life is over as we knew it." Here is a portion of what Judi wrote me:
"Hi. I am a wife of a very hard worker. My husband is 72 years old and was still working in Jan. of this year. His back started giving him trouble so he went to see a Dr. and the Dr. said, this has to be operated on, or you will be crippled the rest of your life ,So we talked about it and he went for the operation. The Dr. said in 3 months you will be back to work and good as new. Well, that did not happen. . . "

Judi's husband was taken back and forth to the hospital, and in her view, many critical procedures were withheld because they were up in years, not wealthy, not powerful. Her husband got an infection in the hospital. As a result, his health is ruined, his job lost, and his finances in shambles. His life insurance went up to over $700 a month, so they had to cancel that. Judi ends by questioning why we seem to have money to pay for free healthcare for illegal aliens but not American citizens. She says,
"There is no one to help us."
We're living in a country where hospital after hospital goes out of business because of the drain from treating illegal aliens. Now the President refuses to back verification to keep the federal government from making healthcare for illegal aliens some kind of entitlement.
As I said last month, NumbersUSA will not yield on this point. If the President and his allies in Congress do not clearly and specifically exclude illegal aliens from healthcare legislation by means of verification, we will oppose it with all we have.
Mr. President, I hope you are listening!

Friends, I know I might sound like a broken record to some of you, coming month in and month out, asking for donations (but only from those who can afford it!). But
we have a David versus Goliath situation here. We don't have big corporations and industrial groups looking for cheap labor writing us huge checks.
In fact, for our faxing and Internet work, which you know is totally free and amazingly effective, we are 100% dependent on you, our members. Yes, I may sometimes sound like a yowling cat, but think of what's at stake? The future of our country? Your children's and their children's futures.
And I know many just can't afford. That's ok!
