In 2007,

5 million of our older Americans had
Not signed up in the given time,
For their Medicare, Part D, drug plan--

They are old and confused.

YET they were NOT
Granted an extension.

However, the 12 million illegal aliens in our
Country were allowed to stay, protest, procreate, receive support monies, attend schools,
Avoid paying income taxes,
Have our teachers take
300 hours of Spanish as a Second Language
And training at our expense, etc.

THE GOVERNMENT MUST REALLY DISLIKE
OUR OLDER AMERICAN CITIZENS.

OR THEY MUST REALLY LOVE TACOS!!!

Let us see how the government will
Handle the program for the 2009
Year for our senior citizens.

If it ticks you off, pass it on!!

OH! Don't forget to pay your taxes..

12 million illegalaliens
Are depending on you! !!

The pictures are true. They were taken at Montebello high school on Monday, March 27, 2006. The students were part of a walkout aimed at influencing Congress, which was debating immigration policy and the potential of cracking down on illegal immigrants in the country. Although the flag-raising took place at Montebello high school, officials of the Montebello Unified School District were quick to point out that the protesters were not students from Montebello high school. Assistent Superintendent Robert Henke said the high school was under a lockdown and all the students were in their classrooms. He said that the 800 to 1000 students were from neighboring school districts such as the El Rancho Unified School District and the Whittier Union High School District. They marched to Montebello high school, lowered the flags, replaced the school flag with a Mexican flag, flew the U.S. flag upside down, and stole the California flag that had been on the pole.

Will our country remain a sovereign United States of America or become another Latin American state?

We are reaching the tipping point in this fight for our country, especially in terms of demographic shift, and while we do not have the resources of the opposition, we still have the numbers.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has fired a shot across the bow by introducing S. 9, “Stronger Economy, Stronger Borders Act of 2009”. The title is misleading—it sounds like it is pro-American worker and pro-border enforcement. It is neither. The text is not available yet, but Senator Reid’s introduction given on the floor of the Senate is an announcement of amnesty for illegal aliens, including the removal of the border fence!

Suggested actions against S. 9 will come in the days and months ahead. The timing is dependent on the determination and arrogance of the open borders’ politicians in our Executive Branch and Congress to move this reprehensible agenda forward.

One of our immediate concerns is the United States government’s total disregard for the unemployed American worker! Our elected officials have shown by their inaction that they do not care about job loss or the suppression of the wages of American workers, from the unskilled to the highly technical.

The government of the United States is continuing to allow 138,000 foreign workers into this country every month on work Visas!

The continued importation of foreign labor, the failure to secure our borders and to enforce immigration law in this economic crisis is egregious. The fault lies with the globalists, the business lobby, the open borders lobby, radical ethnocentric groups and academia along with their bought and paid for elected representatives in the United States government.

We are partially to blame because many of us have become complacent bystanders to the destruction of our nation.

The importation of foreign labor is the subject of our action alert below.

I hope you find the reading informative and if you are so moved, please post your comments and any additional information you want to impart to readers of the Forum. And, please use the Digest and Forum to reach family, friends and acquaintances in spreading the word about our corrupt, non-representative United States government.

God Bless and Keep up the fight!

Support American Workers:

Tips for informing our Senators and Representatives of our positions:

An email and a fax are fine, but nothing beats personally calling our federal and state offices for a little one-on-one with an aide. This guarantees your concerns will be heard, not deleted or shredded.

Be very polite and engaging. Pretend you are talking to your children, your grandchildren, a niece or nephew or a younger friend. These aides most usually in their early 20’s!!!

Be well-informed and ask “did you know” or “do you think Congressman ____ or Senator ________ is aware” questions.

Do not express anger! This only gives them an excuse not to listen.

Possible talking points when calling the offices of your United States Congressman and your two Senators:

  • Pleasantly inform them that you are an American citizen living in the state or district where their bosses were elected to office by those American citizens they swore an oath to represent.
  • Ask them why American jobs are not being protected from the monthly importation of 140,000 foreign workers and unknown quantities of illegal aliens. (Source: The Department of Homeland statistical data)
  • Ask them if Senator _____ or Congressman________ would like to comment on why American jobs are going to foreign nationals over United States citizens.
  • Ask them if they or other staff members know that based on the number of jobless claims, it appears that in excess of 2 million American jobs were lost in 2008.
  • Ask them if the Senator or Congressman they work for understands that the American people deserve to have the jobs that American businesses, farmers and other American institutions are giving to foreign visa holders and even illegal aliens.
  • Thank them for their time in listening to you and tell them you, friends and family will be watching for Senator _______ or Congressman _________ to introduce and/or vocally support legislation that ends the importation of the foreign laborers…the labor that keeps Americans jobless and suppresses Americans wages.
  • Inform them that now, more than ever, is the time for enforcement of immigration laws. No amnesties are acceptable and would be great and permanent harm to the sovereignty of America.

  1. Amnesty Bill Introduced: "Stronger Economy, Stronger Borders Act of 2009" SESBA

Senator Harry Reid introduced S. 9 (the text of the bill is not available yet)

Excerpt of comments by Senator Reid on the Senate floor:

Mr. LEAHY. Mr. President, as we begin the 111th Congress, we will try, once again, to enact comprehensive immigration reforms that have eluded us in the past several years. With an administration that understands the critical necessity of meaningful reform and that understands the policy failures of the last 8 years, I am hopeful that the new Congress can finally enact legislation consistent with our history as a nation of immigrants…more…

  3. New Report: U.S. Infrastructure Overwhelmed by Influx of Immigrants

$1.6 Trillion Needed to Repair and Maintain Nation's Hospitals, Schools, Parks, Water Supply, Bridges, and Basic Infrastructures

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Immigration policies need to go hand-in-hand with decisions to repair the deteriorating U.S. infrastructure, according to a unique new report to be released on January 13. ""The Twin Crises: Immigration and Infrastructure,"" by prominent researcher Edwin S. Rubenstein, will be released by the Social Contract Press on January 13 at a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C…

  4. Housing Push for Hispanics Spawns Wave of Foreclosures

California Rep. Joe Baca has long pushed legislation he said would ""open the doors to the American Dream"" for first-time home buyers in his largely Hispanic district. For many of them, those doors have slammed shut, quickly and painfully.

Mortgage lenders flooded Mr. Baca's San Bernardino, Calif., district with loans that often didn't require down payments, solid credit ratings or documentation of employment. Now, many of the Hispanics who became homeowners find themselves mired in the national housing mess. Nearly 9,200 families in his district have lost their homes to foreclosure…

  5. Most Mexicans in U.S. Have No Thought of Returning Home

  6. Immigration Lobbying: A Window Into the World of Special Interests

Immigration policy consistently ranks near the top of the list of issues that concern Americans. Polls show that most Americans do not believe that our nation’s immigration policies serve the public interest and believe that these policies need to be overhauled, and that laws against illegal immigration need to be enforced.

Given the intense public concern about immigration policy, it is not surprising that the issue has been the subject of numerous high profile pieces of congressional legislation in recent years. And, where there is congressional legislation, there are inevitably lobbyists trying to shape the content and influence the outcome. What is eye-opening is the scope of interest groups that have been involved in lobbying Congress on immigration policy, how much money these interest groups spend on lobbying in Washington, and how little of it is directed toward promoting the public interest…

  7. U.S. smoothes away an illegal border crossing wrinkle

A massive earth-moving project is transforming Smuggler's Gulch near San Diego from a narrow canyon used by cattle thieves, bandits and illegal immigrants into a plugged breach.Smuggler's Gulch lived up to its infamous name.

For a century, the narrow canyon leading into California from Mexico provided cover for cattle thieves and opium dealers, bandits and booze runners. More recently, it has hidden thousands of illegal immigrants on their journey north, sealing its place in border lore.

    Now, it's a fading memory…

  8. Immigration Demands Heat Up Before Obama Takes Over

Weeks before President-elect Barack Obama officially takes office in Washington, calls for a comprehensive immigration reform package are getting louder.

And the calls are coming from lawmakers, academics, immigration advocates and newspaper editorials. What they are demanding is early attention to be paid to the immigration issue, which, understandably, was placed on the backburner during the two-year election campaign that culminated in the Obama victory over Senator John McCain on November 4th.

“There are myriad claims to Barack Obama’s attention and the list will only grow before January 20,” said Dr, Jorge G. Castaneda, professor of Latin American and Caribbean studies at New York University in Manhattan. “But immigration reform, and more immediately, putting an end to the outgoing (Bush) administration’s unfortunate and inhuman immigration enforcement policy should be high on the President elect’s list.” More…

  9. Immigration Transforms Communities

Jim D. Rollins had been superintendent of the Springdale public schools in northwest Arkansas for almost a decade when the mostly white community began its dramatic transformation into a booming gateway for immigrant families and their non-English-speaking children.

In 1990, the district, with just under 8,000 students, had virtually no English-language learners, or ELLs. By last fall, its English-learner population alone stood at 7,000 children—roughly 40 percent of the total enrollment of 17,400 students. A thriving economy in and around Springdale over the past 15 years, driven mostly by job growth at Tyson Foods, the world’s largest poultry producer, and Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, had attracted thousands of immigrants from Mexico, as well as a significant number of families from the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific…

Top commentary for the week of January 3---January 9, 2009
  1. GOP Needs a Rethink on Immigration, by Mark Krikorian, Director of the Center for Immigration Studies

As the 111th Congress convenes, Republicans need to rethink their immigration policy.

For too long the Republican story line has been “Too Much Lawbreaking,” when instead the real problem is “Too Much Immigration” — only one part of which involves lawbreaking. This exclusive focus on illegal immigration — opposing amnesty and pushing for more enforcement — is both incomplete and counterproductive. Incomplete because the effects of illegal immigration aren’t that different from those of legal immigration — an illiterate Central American farmer with a green card is just as unsuited for a 21st-century economy as an illiterate Central American farmer without a green card. And it’s counterproductive because the focus on criminality can seem punitive and serve to polarize the debate, potentially aliening not just immigrant voters, who really aren’t that numerous, but the native-born, who want less immigration but don’t want to feel bad about themselves for holding such a view…

  2. ‘Americanization’ of Immigrants for the 21st Century, by La Shawn Barber

In the early 1900s, immigration in the U.S. reached a high point, which prompted Americans to educate immigrants about the culture. The “Americanization” movement focused on helping immigrants to become “civic-minded and participatory.” While naturalization was the end result, the process was designed to teach them American values and to foster a sense of civic responsibility. Government agencies, the education system, community organizations, faith-based organizations, and others were involved…

  3. Illegal Aliens Are NOT Leaving The United States, by Digger of Digger’s Realm

I've been hearing stories left and right for the past few months that illegal aliens are leaving the country in droves. They say that the economy and rising unemployment have driven illegal aliens from south of the border, back across it. I have been severely skeptical of such statements because I believe they are outright wrong and news stories bury in them proof that it is not true.

The Border Patrol will tell you apprehensions are down. Surely this is proof that few illegal aliens are coming across the border right? Well no, it means that apprehensions are down, in other words they aren't catching them…

[*]Immigrant Gangs: Pols still don’t get it, by John Feere

In their quest for open borders, many politicians still fail to understand the link between immigration and the growth of gangs.

The latest example is chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Rep. Joe Baca (D-Calif.) – who happens to have one of the worst records on immigration enforcement. In the next Congress, Baca plans to introduce an initiative to fight gangs. It sounds like a great idea, but if his past efforts are a guide, it’s likely that this initiative will focus only on prevention programs akin to the anti-drug program known as D.A.R.E. More…

NC Fire Action Alert

North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement
www.NCFIRE.info
A proposed bill in The House could raise awareness to a problem one congressman says is plaguing our nation. Congressman Walter Jones says the number of illegal immigrants who break the law is on the rise and he wants the government to track them down. Jones says there is no clear way to get statistics on crimes committed by illegal immigrants, but people have the right to know.

He’s introduced H.R. 150, “The Illegal Alien Crime Report Act.” It would require law enforcement to report if criminal suspects are in this country illegally.

The proposed law has three main points.
  1. First, it would require states to submit statistics on crimes committed by illegal’s to get money from Homeland Security.
  2. Second, it would require federal agencies to submit data on the criminal activity of illegal’s and,
  3. Third, it would require the FBI to compile the information in an annual publication.
North Carolina Representative Sue Myrick is one of the original bill’s cosponsors. Congressman Jones says the next step is to get a House hearing on the legislation.

ACTION ALERT!!!

Contact your House Representative. Ask your Representative to co-sponsor H.R. 150. WorldNetDaily Reader:
I want to thank all of you for your support. The amount of cards and letters I have received has been incredible.
Although our case received attention before we reported to prison, I truly believed people would forget all about us. Once we reported to prison, I was very happy to see how wrong I was. I have received thousands of letters from people all over the country. I have also received letters from other countries such as Italy and even a few from soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
<TABLE cellPadding=0 width=205 align=right><TBODY><TR><TD align=middle> </TD></TR><TR><TD style="PADDING-LEFT: 15px; FONT-SIZE: 9pt; COLOR: #666666; PADDING-TOP: 5px; FONT-FAMILY: arial,verdana,sans-serif">Imprisoned agent Jose Compean</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>All of these letters have given me a lot of hope. Knowing that people have been praying for us has also given me a lot of strength. Your prayers have really helped me get through some tough times, especially after the appeals court ruled against us. Reading my mail that night made me feel much better.
I want to apologize to a lot of you. As I said earlier, I have received thousands of letters. When I first started getting them, I was able to respond to all of them. The number of letters increased and it is almost impossible to respond to every one. I wanted to, but I wasn't able to keep up.
These last two years have been very hard for my family and me. This has affected us in so many different ways. We have lost two years of our lives that we will never get back.
One of the best memories I have is from my visit with Patty, my wife, and our kids last September. We were all sitting down, playing a board game. For the first time in a very long time, it felt like we were a family. It was great.
As Patty told WND, "God will not throw something at you that you cannot handle."
This has made our family stronger, as well as brought Patty and I much closer. When I feel down or discouraged, I lean on my wife for support. She has done a great job at home with our kids. I am very proud of her, and I love her with all my heart.
Thank you again for everything you have done to help. Words are not enough to express how grateful my family and I are.
I ask that you continue to contact the White House on our behalf these last few days before President Bush leaves office. I also ask that you continue to pray for our families. Hopefully Ignacio and I will be home soon.
God bless you and your families.

Sincerely,

Jose A. Compean

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are in federal prison serving 11- and 12- years respectively for a 2005 incident in which they fired on a drug smuggler as he fled back into Mexico after bringing 750 pounds of marijuana into the U.S. near Fabens, Texas.
There's still time to help!
With just days left for President Bush to pardon the imprisoned border cops, WND has made it easy and inexpensive to send a FedEx to the president asking him to help Ramos and Compean.
"Life throws you curve balls," says Jose Compean's wife, Patty. "You have to deal with it the best you can."

The bill currently calls for "reforming and rationalizing avenues for legal immigration," code for amnesty and immigration increases that will be added to the bill later. Edwin S. Rubenstein
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
The United States will need $1.6 trillion to repair damage to its infrastructure from a massive influx of immigrants, a new report reveals.
In his report titled, "The Twin Crises: Immigration and Infrastructure," prominent researcher Edwin S. Rubenstein examines 15 categories of infrastructure: airports, border security, bridges, dams and levees, electricity (the power grids), hazardous waste removal, hospitals, mass transit, parks and recreation facilities, ports and navigable waterways, public schools, railroads, roads and highways, solid waste and trash, and water and sewer systems.
Rubenstein, a financial analyst and former contributing editor of Forbes and economics editor of National Review, claims the nation is facing a crisis – with immigration responsible for at least 80 percent of spending needed to expand the U.S. infrastructure before the middle of this century.
"If the infrastructure crisis could be fixed by spending money, there would be no crisis," Mr. Rubenstein explained in a statement. "Since 1987, capital spending on transportation infrastructure has increased by 2.1 percent per year above the inflation rate. At $233 billion (2004 dollars), infrastructure is already one of the largest categories of government spending. Our infrastructure is 'crumbling' because population growth has overwhelmed the ability of even these vast sums to expand capacity."
While immigration policy has been hotly debated for a number of years, Rubenstein writes that its impact on infrastructure is rarely discussed.
Public schools
Immigrants make up 21 percent of the school-age population in the U.S.
"In California, a whopping 47 percent of the school-age population consists of immigrants or the children of immigrants," the report states. "Some Los Angeles schools are so crowded that they have lengthened the time between classes to give students time to make their way through crowded halls. Los Angeles' school construction program is so massive that the Army Corps of Engineers was called in to manage it."
According to the U.S. Department of Education, 18 percent of all schools are considered overcrowded, and 37 percent use trailers and portable structures to accommodate growing student bodies. Public facilities are an average of 40 years old. Cities with high populations of illegal aliens are spending large amounts of their budgets on constructing new schools.
"Our anticipated gains in the number of foreign-born students alone will require us to build one elementary school a month to keep up," Miami-Dade, Fla., school Superintendent Roger Cuevas said.
Hospitals
emergency1.jpg
Rubenstein cites a recent construction boom among the nation's hospitals. As many as 60 percent of America's hospitals are either under construction or have plans for new facilities.
"But we have a two-tier hospital system in the U.S. Hospitals in poor areas – that serve primarily uninsured immigrants and Medicaid patients – cannot afford their facilities," he writes. "The uncompensated costs are killing them. In California, 60 emergency departments (EDs) have closed to avoid the uncompensated costs of their largely illegal alien caseloads."
Illegal aliens use emergency rooms more than twice as often as U.S. citizens, and providing their uncompensated care has been the death of many emergency departments.
In 2006, more than 46 percent of illegals did not have medical insurance. Although illegal aliens are not supposed to be eligible for Medicaid, they receive Emergency Medicaid and their children are entitled to all benefits that legal immigrants receive.
Because hospitals are forced to care for Medicaid recipients, the government program never covers full costs of service. It underpaid hospitals by $11.3 billion in 2006, he wrote.
(Story continues below)

Water and electricity
Rubenstein referenced immigration trends revealing that aliens often choose to live in cities with strained water supplies – especially near the border – and their sheer numbers have made conservation efforts nearly impossible.
"Cities like San Antonio, El Paso, and Phoenix could run out of water in 10 to 20 years," he writes. San Diego's water company has resorted to a once-unthinkable option: recycling toilet water for drinking."
Due to immigration, demand for water exceeds the California State Water Project's capacity. Now Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed building a $6 billion reservoir. Approximately one-fifth of the state's electricity is tied up in collection, storage and transportation of the water.
Electric utilities are expected to require an additional $142 billion to keep generator capacity at recommended levels before 2050 due to the increasing population.
National parks
<TABLE align=right border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=200>
illegalstrash1.jpg

Trash left behind by illegal aliens
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
America's national parks are also bearing the brunt of immigration. Illegals wear roads and paths through parks.
"Their fires, trash, and vandalism have despoiled thousands of acres of pristine parkland," he writes.
According to Rubenstein, illegals leave beer, water and milk bottles, personal hygiene items and medications, clothing and shoes, food and food cans, jewelry, paper trash, sanitary pads, disposable diapers, backpacks, blankets, towels, plastic bags, homemade weapons, disintegrating toilet paper and human feces on U.S. property while they journey into the country.
They damage vegetation, leave abandoned vehicles and bicycles, spray paint trees and boulders and create campfires that turn into wildfires.
Border security costs
Costs for securing the nation's borders are expected to increase 20.6 percent in fiscal year 2009. These include expenses for border patrol, electronic surveillance, the border fence and other security needs. President Bush allocated $44.3 billion for the Department of Homeland Security – a 4.5 percent increase from last year's budget of $42.4 billion.
<TABLE align=left border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=200>
borderpatrol.jpg

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
"While the U.S. builds a fence across much of the border, many illegals are taking a different route. Underground," Rubenstein reveals. "Authorities have discovered dozens of illegal tunnels across the international border in recent years. Smuggling of drugs, weapons, and immigrants takes place daily through these underground passageways."
Illegal aliens also use drainage systems to travel across the U.S.-Mexico border – from El Paso to San Diego.
"One tunnel, actually a system of two half-mile passages connecting Tijuana with San Diego, is by comparison a superhighway," he wrote.
While the Border Patrol attempts to stop these underground incursions with steel doors, cameras and sensors, harsh weather conditions and human smugglers destroy the equipment and barriers.
These costs, and the expenses of providing "enhanced driver's licenses" as alternative passports for citizens, RFID chips, government databases and watch lists are expected to soar.
Fiscal burden
In his research, Rubenstein finds that the average immigrant household generates a fiscal debt of $3,408 after federal benefits and taxes are considered. At the state and local level, the fiscal debt amounts to $4.398 per immigrant household.
"There are currently about 36 million immigrants living in about 9 million households, so the aggregate deficit attributable to immigrants comes to $70.3 billion," he writes. "… Immigrants could deplete the amount of funds available for infrastructure by as much as $70 billion per year."
Rubenstein cites figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, projecting that the U.S. population will reach 433 million by 2050 – increasing 44 percent, or 135 million, from today's numbers.
A full 82 percent of this increase will be directly attributable to new immigrants and their U.S.-born children.
"The brutal reality is that no conceivable infrastructure program can keep pace with that kind of population growth," he wrote. "The traditional 'supply-side' response to America's infrastructure shortage – build, build, build – is dead, dead, dead. Demand reduction is the only viable way to close the gap between the supply and demand of public infrastructure."
He concludes, "Immigration reduction must play a role."
Edwin Rubenstein's complete report, "The Twin Crises: Immigration and Infrastructure," released Jan. 13, is available here. http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=86243

Even PROCECUTOR says sentances too harsh!

Prosecutor of Jailed Border Patrol Says Sentences Too Harsh -- Time For Bush To Pardon

By Roy Beck, Friday, January 16, 2009, 11:48 AM
picture-21.png
Mr. Bush, please listen to your federal prosecutor who doggedly tracked down a convicted drug smuggler in Mexico to convict Border Agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos for allegedly over-zealously shooting at the smuggler after a car chase and then a foot sprint back across the border.
To many supporters of the Border Patrol, Prosecutor Sutton himself was guilty of overzealousness in pursuing a criminal conviction of these agents.
But this is what Sutton says about the two agents rotting in prison after two years separation from wives, children, parents and life (with nearly a decade still to serve):
I think a legitimate question, is: 'Is the punishment too harsh?' I have always said the punishment in this case was harsh.
If you haven't sent Pres. Bush a last-minute fax begging for a pardon, please do so.
At stake is the morale of our Border Patrol and their ability to protect us from massive armies of illegal workers coming to steal jobs and put Americans out of work, from drug smugglers, from violent cartels, from terrorists, from slavery rings and from murderous para-military squads.
OBAMA'S NEW ATTY. GENERAL MAKES CASE FOR RAMOS-COMPEAN PARDON

While not mentioning this travesty about Border Agents Ramos and Compean in his Senate hearings yesterday, Eric Holder nonetheless made the case for their pardon.
As you know, Holder was involved in helping Pres. Clinton provide an incredibly controversial pardon of a group of terrorists. Holder yesterday said he stood by the pardon for two reasons:
  • The terrorists didn't kill anybody.
  • The terrorists' sentences were far longer than those of other people with comparable convictions.
The U.S. Senators hearing this, for the most part, seemed to accept that explanation.
Well, those are exactly the conditions for Ramos and Compean -- except they never threatened the United States but were trying to protect the country.
True dirty agents who take bribes to help smugglers deliver their human and narcotics cargo don't get sentences like this. The illegal aliens and smugglers almost never get sentences like this.
WIDESPREAD CALLS FOR THEIR RELEASE

Crack journalist Sara Carter wrote a detailed story about this case yesterday. Here are a few of the key parts I want you to consider if you have doubts about asking for the freedom for Ramos and Compean.
There's no longer any question about the character and lack of credibility of Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila,. He's a career drug smuggler who was undoubtedly armed, and the physical evidence proves that he was pointing a weapon at Agents Ramos and Compean when he was shot."
-- T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, which represent 15,000 Border Patrol
Both Ramos and Compean live in solitary confinement.
The conditions of solitary confinement are deplorable, and these men are effectively serving a double sentence. Each man spends 23 hours a day in his cell, gets one phone call to his family for 15 minutes once a month and has no television. When Ramos is moved from his cell, he is shackled and handcuffed.
-- Tara Setmayer, communications director for U.S. Rep. Rohrabacher, who has visited Ramos on many occasions.
At the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, a dozen House members held a news conference to urge Mr. Bush to commute the sentences of the agents before he leaves office Tuesday. 'They were not in the commission of a crime; they were in the commission of defending our borders, and they should have been acknowledged for having done that,' said Rep. Louie Gohmert, Texas Republican. The lawmakers - 11 Republicans and Rep. Bill Delahunt, Massachusetts Democrat - also said U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, whose office prosecuted the case, should urge the president to pardon the men.
-- Washington Times
You can read other thoughts I have on this case in my earlier blog.
Some people have confused Ramos and Compean with other Border Agents found to have been taking bribes. Ramos and Compean have nothing but exemplary records with the Border Patrol until this incidence of shooting the drug smuggler in the buttocks.

it seems to me that we are becoming communist in our own country told we are free an told to do whats right (as long as it doesnt interfear with the goverment or you boss at your job)isnt it crazy if you try to do the right thing you will be imprisoned (communist) or lose your job (communist) of course this is only my opinion an i have to state it as such or i may be put away (communism) to bad our right to free speech is no longer available unless it goes along with the wrong side the bad an the corrupt people who control the people or so they beleive anyway. (my opinion )i beleive someday that america will once again stand like our four fathers did for our freedom an we will have our right to do what is right back again.if you dont beleive me an you have a hand book for your job no matter where you work. there is a line somewhere in it that voids the whole handbook(we have the right to change any of these rules at anytime conveniet for the company) it may be worded a bit different but look in your job handbook an see if its there. so much for going by the rules (only if it helps them to protect who not you .them)so you may be fired or disciplined or jailed an have no rights what so ever for doing your job . just as these men have done (so what do we say that would be its not freedom an dont fight for it you may be in jail when you do.)thats what they want everyone to feel fear instead of freedom. communism.

This case is another example of a person in authority like Johnny Sutton greatly abusing that authority. To place Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean in jail for pursuing a dangerous and armed drug smuggler is scurrilous and shameful. To enable such an awful example of humanity to sue the government of the United States is beyond belief. Surely President Bush can agree with thousands of American citizens that this travesty of justice must be corrected immediately or further undermine the brave and loyal efforts of those trying to secure our borders.

This is an upside-down, confusing, disgustingly pathetic situation. We are allowing what is RIGHT (Ramos & Compean doing their duty) to be considered WRONG by some authorities. These power people are WRONG in this case, but are we making a difference in letting our beliefs be known?? I've signed everything that's come before me and recently called the Whitehouse in response to your emails, and have prayed without ceasing. What else can I do?? RIGHT IS RIGHT... WRONG IS WRONG... NO MATTER HOW MANY THINK OTHERWISE. I feel sure that Jay Seculow, ACLJ, has been involved with this case to no avail. What do we do other than continue praying?? What else is God seeking from us? Thank you for all you do.

Don't we have more than enough corruption, criminal acts regarding the transporting of drugs, etc. Why have we (AMERICANS) become so disrespectful, and ignorant to these two people trying to do their job. We all know that law and order is non-justifiable if it doesn't fit the benefit(s) of the politicians. However, let's, this one time, make the justifiable decision of being a compassionate human being, to those who are hired to curtail the scum who utilize our borders to further plague the americans. Criminals have no rights - they have lost their rights when they broke the law. These two border agents have suffered enough for a mistake that people make in their everyday lives. You can't give them back the two years of life they have lost; however, their family should be taken care of financially, and they should be compensated for this humiliating penalty decision. After all, we take care of illegals, criminals, terrorists, etc., who contaminate our lives.

This is a catch 22 until the people tell congress to obey their oath of office and see that those charged with defending America are supported in thier jobs without fear of reprisal.

Where are the morals of this country? Where is that sense of knowing the difference between right and wrong and the willingness to right a wrong? Why doesn't Bush pardon these two men?
I pray, and I pray, every night that these two men, Border Patrol agents and countrywide heroes, are released and I pray and I pray every night that when they are freed, they find the best legal counsel in this country and sue the HSA, the TSA and file a grievance to the BAR and get John Sutton's name smeared. John Sutton deserves to have his credibility make the front page of the New York Times with the word anti-American written across his face.
I literally get very teary eyed thinking that these two men are away from their families and unjustly imprisoned.
I literally get very teary eyed when I think that Federal District courts, the ACLU, local religious churches and advocate groups like Progresso Latino try to castrate the authority and actions of ICE regarding separating illegal aliens from their families.
What about the family and children of Ramos and Campeon?

New Re: Prosecutor of Jailed Border Patrol Says Sentences Too Harsh

It seems Johnny Sutton has gotten a lot of negative feedback since his prosecution of the border agents. My feeling was that by running down the drug runner to testify was an abuse of the power of his office and he should have been disbarred for doing do. This case should have never been prosecuted, though the politics were at play here, and never should have been at play in any criminal prosecution. There were plenty of malfeasance and President Bush needs to correct this and reinstate their jobs as this should have only be a policy violation, not criminal prosecution. This has only empowered the drug cartel and the now fearless drug runners who have been given a free ticket to run back and forth over the southern border. Now the speculation is we can expect the violence to soon spill over into the US, where last year 5300 murders were committed against law enforcement, politicans, and civilians. This prosecution has now opened the door for the violence to spill over into the U.S.

New Roy, Can't our Congress pass

Roy,
Can't our Congress pass a special bill just for this case to get theses two men released?
I know they sometimes pass special bills to keep some immigrants from being deported in individual cases.........why don't they do the same, and intervene, for these men?
NumbersUSA Moderator: Congress could pass a bill to prohibit federal funds from being used to carry out the sentences of the two agents. An amendment along those lines passed in a House Appropriations bill in 2007 but was not included in the Senate version. A pardon or commutation remains the agents' best hope.

Loophole Angers Illegal Immigration Foes

Those waiting lists are so long that most of them have been frozen for years, meaning people can't even submit an application for public housing. In Arizona, hundreds of those units are occupied by people who aren't even U.S. citizens.
The Salazar family has lived in a four-bedroom Phoenix public housing apartment for the past six years -- all 10 of them.
Their rent is only $150 a month and subsidized by the U.S. government, even though both parents are illegal immigrants from Mexico. <TABLE class=storyAd cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0 itxtvisited="1"><TBODY itxtvisited="1"><TR itxtvisited="1"><TD class=storyAdObj itxtvisited="1"><!-- Begin Ad tag: square--><SCRIPT type=text/javascript>IBSYS.ad.AdManager.registerPosition({"iframe": false,"addlSz": "","element": "ad_N6D74682F.3B56","interstitials": false,"beginDate": "","endDate": "","getSect": "","name": "square","qString": "","width": "300","height": "250","section": "","useId": "","interactive": false,"useSameCategory": false,"topic": "","swSectionRoot": "","useZone": "","containerType": "page","containerID": "100401","type": "DOM"**);</SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://ad.doubleclick.net/adj/ibs.pho.news/national;kw=news+square;comp=206342610;ad=true;pgtype=detail;tile=4;sz=300x250;ord=1232338948925?"></SCRIPT><!-- Template Id = 5623 Template Name = 1 - Banner Creative (Flash) - In Page --><!-- Copyright 2006 DoubleClick Inc., All rights reserved. --><SCRIPT src="http://m1.2mdn.net/879366/flashwrite_1_2.js"></SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><!-- End Ad tag: square--></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
"They were not going to give it to my mom because she wasn't born here, but then they said, 'Yeah, since you have a U.S. born person,' she was able to get it," said the couple's 14-year-old daughter Miriam.
Federal law dictates that as long as one member of the family is in the U.S. legally, the rest of the family can join them in public housing, even though the government only subsidizes the legal residents.
The Salazars fit the typical scenario -- parents here illegally, who have had children on American soil.
"It's deplorable, just deplorable," said Michelle Dallacroce, an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration. She said she is outraged that her tax dollars are being used this way
"There are waiting lists right now with American families trying to get into public housing and they are being turned away because illegal aliens are living in public housing," she said.
In Arizona there are 7,000 public housing units, and in Phoenix alone, HUD says there are almost 16,000 families on its waiting list. HUD said statewide 622 units are currently housing illegal immigrants, only 9 percent of its total.
Yet it only took CBS 5 News five minutes in one Phoenix project to find two families who fit the bill -- the Salazars, and even their next-door neighbors, illegal immigrants from Guatemala, with three American-born children.
"Where is INS?" Dallacroce said. "Where is our government? Where are they?"
Not one government agency CBS 5 News contacted would go on camera. The Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services declined and said it's not its job to be critical of other federal agencies. And even HUD would only issue a statement via e-mail, saying, "HUD only provides subsidy for individuals with legal status."

Show AnywayTed Medina commented 2 days 13 hours 14 minutes ago Michelle Dallacroce, Buffalo Rick, and Channel 5,

Greatly appreciate this information. Since the HUD scam involves the theft of federal funds
for housing illegals, I interpret this as federal funding for drophouses in Phoenix. In other words,
my tax dollars used to subvert federal immigration laws. Per USC 1324, knowingly renting to or otherwise aiding, abetting, and harboring illegals is a federal offense, possibly a felony.

I wonder if this provides an opportunity for Phil "Sanctuary City" Gordon to somehow tap the federal till?
I know that HUD-sponsored housing of illegals obviously supports the slave labor force needed in Phoenix.

Keep up the great investigative work. Ted Medina, Phoenix

Place the Army at the border and protected it against any invaders, the will of the American citizen is being ignored by most in Congress and the Senate. How in the world can these people live with themselves knowing how they have slapped the citizen in the face and allowed illegals to infiltrate the entire country and are allowing billions of dollars that belong to the citizen by way of taxes to be handed out as if it meant nothing. The new administration will most likely add to this already over crowded issue as they give amnesty to millions of criminals who produce more offspring then any race in the world, hold on to what you own before it is taken away from us and given to undeserving aliens who will bring down the entire country.Sad .

The other day, I had a very enlightening conversation with a former organizer for the Laborers International Union Of North America. He wrote out a letter to describe the current situation in the unions from an "insider's" perspective. John Buck worked his way up to a pretty lofty position within the organization, so his perspective is valuable for us to use in our fight against the illegal alien invasion.

After reading John's letter below, please take action on the following:

1) If you are a member of a Union, please update your profile (
http://www.FIRECoalition.com/profile) to indicate you would be willing to volunteer and select "Union Member" so we can include you in any of our initiatives that deal with unions. This information will not be shared with anyone outside of the FIRE Coalition. Your privacy will be paramount.
2) If there are other like-minded members in your union, please encourage them to join the FIRE Coalition (
http://www.FIRECoalition.com/register and similarly indicate they are a union member after clicking the volunteer checkbox.
3) Contact John Buck at
strongbuck2003@yahoo.com to let him know where you stand.
4) Send John's letter to your local media (print, radio, and tv) and write letters the editor of your local papers.

Below is his open letter.
<HR color=#cc0000>

My name is John Buck. I am a former organizer for the Laborers Eastern Organizing Fund, Laborers International Union Of North America. This is my story.

After years of being a rank and file laborer, I was asked to become an organizer. I agreed with the belief that advocating for better working conditions, benefits, and wages for American workers was a worthy cause. I still do.

After some time, I came to these conclusions.

1) Labor leaders nationwide are merging local union halls across the country in order to avoid dissent on illegal immigration.
2) The leadership of these unions are selling out the rank and file in order to gain membership dues and political power for themselves.
3) The unsustainable tide of cheap illegal labor takes the teeth out of any present and future collective bargaining agreements.
4) These leaders have come to a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality.
5) With years of fighting big buisness' use of illegal aliens, they have succombed.
6) These actions are are costing American union workers jobs.
7) Through the threat of takeover by the international union, local buisness agents submit or are merged to avoid dissent.
8) Through their dues, rank and file members are unwittingly donating money to political action committees who have a pro-amnesty agenda. In other words, they are advocating for their own replacements.
9) Even without the current economic down turn, jobs are finite not infinite.
10) Without a great groundswell of dissent, this situation is irreversable.

Let me tell you a story of the laborers union...

Over the years there has been a number of corruption convictions in my union, so the Justice Department came in to oversee it. This gave the current leadership the appearance of changing the union for the better. Everyone cheered. Then they went to work on us.

Instead of demanding that contractors use legal American workers, they thought it easier to just organize the illegal alen workers which started us down a slippery slope. The courts made the decision that organizing these workers was legal, but here's the rub: while that is legal [I don't agree with it though], sending out illegal aliens from a hiring hall is another matter. My union card has my social security number on it. What about yours? Whose number are the illegal aliens using?

This leaves all our union contractors exposed to fines and penalties, and therefore could affect collective bargaining agreements. The granting of union cards is facillitating the employment of illegal aliens, which is a crime. So I see this practice as an ongoing, organized criminal enterprise. That is the definition of a R.I.C.O. (racketeering) violation.

AND THE JUSTICE DEPT IS LETTING THEM DO IT.!!!!

This house of cards must not stand. Please stand up and scream with me. I am an American Union Worker, and I want my union leaders to identify and e-verify.

Sincerely,

John Buck

House passes healthcare bill that includes illegal aliens.

Ask the Senate to amend the bill.

The House of Representatives has passed an expanded version of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), and made it easier for illegal aliens to access the program's benefits.

HR 2, the new version of SCHIP, weakens verification requirements. Those who enroll will be required to show only an easily forged Social Security card -- not secure documents proving U.S. citizenship. The legislation also extends benefits to non-citizen children of legal immigrants.

The SCHIP bill is designed to provide health coverage to low-income children, a laudable goal, but in these tough economic times, we cannot afford to spend scarce dollars on illegal aliens. That simply means fewer funds will be available for poor Americans.

ACTION NEEDED

Ask your Senators to amend the legislation to prevent benefits from going to illegal aliens. Send a free fax or an e-mail by clicking the link below: Good for any State

Thanks to Michelle Malkin for picking up on this...

Unbelievably (or maybe not), Robert Reich, Obama's economic advisor had this to say about where stimulus money should go:

Quote:

"It’s a two-fer: lots of new jobs, and investments in the nation’s future productivity.

But if there aren’t enough skilled professionals to do the jobs involving new technologies, the stimulus will just increase the wages of the professionals who already have the right skills rather than generate many new jobs in these fields. And if construction jobs go mainly to white males who already dominate the construction trades, many people who need jobs the most — women, minorities, and the poor and long-term unemployed — will be shut out."

You can read the rest of his drivel at
http://robertreich.blogspot.com/2009/01/stimulus-how-to-create-jobs-without.html

What a slap in the fact to those white males who are out of jobs because their government, who should be promoting the attitude
"America First", is selling them out to the glee of illegal alien invaders who are gladly taking their jobs, are getting paid cash, and relying on you and me to foot their social services bill.

I want to know what you think! Visit

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 557px; HEIGHT: 753px" cellSpacing=4 cellPadding=4 align=center><TBODY><TR><TD>House Committee Adopts Critical E-Verify Amendments
Call Committee Members to Say Thanks!

On Wednesday night, friends sitting on the House Appropriations Committee successfully offered two critical amendments to the Stimulus Bill (entitled the American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill) designed to ensure that jobs created by the stimulus package will go to legal workers. This is more important than ever as 1.9 million American workers have lost their jobs in just the last four months of 2008. (Bureau of Labor Statistics, January 9, 2009). At a time when Congress is considering spending nearly $1 trillion on a stimulus package to create jobs, it is important that those jobs go to Americans who need jobs.
First, Congressman Ken Calvert (R-CA) offered an amendment that would reauthorize E-Verify for four years. The language of this amendment is identical to H.R.6633, the bill that passed the House last July by a vote of 407-2. (Calvert Press Release, January 21, 2009).
Then, later in the evening, Congressman Jack Kingston (R-GA) offered an amendment that requires all businesses that receive stimulus money under the bill to use E-Verify to help ensure that their workforce is legal. (Kingston Press Release, January 21, 2009).
Both Congressmen Calvert and Kingston have been long-time supporters of E-Verify, the electronic system that allows employers to verify that they are hiring legal workers by matching identification documents against databases managed by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The program, formally know as the Basic Pilot Program, was established in 1996 by the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act and has become an effective tool for ensuring a legal workforce, protecting wages, and fighting illegal immigration. Homeland Security reports that over 100,000 businesses now use E-Verify with an average of 1,000 employers signing up every week.
Unfortunately, E-Verify will expire March 6th unless Congress acts. Yesterday's efforts by Congressmen Calvert and Kingston represent the first step to getting E-Verify reauthorized and holding employers who receive taxpayer money accountable for hiring legal workers. Please review the following list and call those committee members from your state to thank them for supporting these two critical amendments! If none of the members of this list are from your state, please feel free to select a handful of members from neighboring states to call and thank. We need to let these members know that we strongly support E-Verify reauthorization and are watching how the House handles this issue.
