Alert! Submit questions on immigration and population for the GOP debate on National Security!CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer will moderate a Republican presidential debate on Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (ET) live from the historic DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. The debate, in partnership with The Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), will focus on three of the most critical issues candidates will encounter during the Republican presidential nomination: national security, foreign policy and the economy.

Click here to submit questions for Tuesday's debatethrough their website

CNN will also solicit questions and comments submitted in real-time from CNN.com, the CNN Politics fan page on Facebook and by using the #CNNDebate hashtag on Twitter. The Political Ticker will live-blog the debate and incorporate live comments generated from social networks directly on the Ticker.

Compose a question of your own or select one of our suggestions below to type in as a submission:
1. Given that there are 14 million unemployed Americans, shouldn’t we hire them for jobs instead of giving those jobs to foreign workers through our policy of massive immigration?

2. The Obama administration has failed to enforce our immigration laws and instead instituted legal action against several states that have passed laws to assist in apprehending illegal aliens. Will you take the same approach?

3. Do you endorse mandatory E-Verify legislation so that jobs in the United States will go to legal American workers?

4. Our unemployment rate is not coming down. Why does the federal government give out 1.5 million green cards and other work permits to foreign workers each year?

5. Do you favor reducing both legal and illegal immigration so that we can stabilize the US population within the next few decades?

6. Our last major amnesty in 1986 led to the present situation where we have 12 million illegal aliens in this country. Now there are demands for another amnesty. Do you promise that you will not sign legislation that gives an amnesty to illegal aliens?

7. The American worker sees no difference between “outsourcing” jobs, and “insourcing” jobs, bringing in foreign workers to take American jobs. Will you do anything to reduce the number of new foreign workers allowed in by the federal government?

8. Ten years after 9-1-1, our borders are still not secure. Will you secure our borders?

9. The Obama admin. issued an administrative amnesty memo. that allows illegals to remain here and receive work permits, even though we have massive unemployment here. Will your administration also give a pass to those who break our immigration laws?

10. Since there are 14 million unemployed Americans and 22 million underemployed Americans, will you reduce the importation of foreign workers, both permanent and temporary?

11. In California, the unemployment rate is 12 percent. Will you support requiring all employers in the United States to use the E-verify program to reduce the unemployment of legal workers?

12. Each year, the federal government brings in 1.5 million new foreign workers. Since we have massive unemployment here, shouldn’t that number be reduced?

13. Many businesses use the H-1B visas to hire foreign workers at lower wages. Do you support the efforts of Senators Grassley and Durbin to end abuses in the program so that jobs must first go to qualified American workers?

14. Because of high levels of legal and illegal immigration, the Census Bureaus projects that the U.S. population will grow to 440 million by 2050. Is this rapid growth sustainable, and, if not, what will you do to restrain it?

Alert! HR 3444 would stop billions in tax credits given to illegal aliens! Legislation by Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) could save taxpayers billions of dollars by preventing illegal aliens from claiming tax credits intended for American citizens and legal residents. HR 3444, the Child Tax Credit Integrity Preservation Act, would require tax filers to provide a valid Social Security number to claim the credits, thereby preventing illegal immigrants from claiming them.

A report from the Treasury Inspector General found that individuals who are not authorized to work in the United States received $4.2 billion in refundable credits in 2010. Currently, the Internal Revenue Service allows individuals filing with an Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) to access the child tax credit and the additional child tax credit. The vast majority of those who use an ITIN to file are illegal aliens who cannot obtain a valid SSN.

Hoffa: Pilot Program Is An Attack on American Truckers and Warehouse Workers

The Teamsters on Wednesday sued to block the U.S. Department of Transportation from opening the U.S. border to dangerous Mexican trucks through an illegal pilot program.
“Opening the border to these dangerous, dirty trucks is an attack on highway safety, an attack on American truckers and warehouse workers, an attack on border security and an attack on our environment,” said Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa. “It’s outrageous enough that we’ve outsourced millions of jobs to foreign countries, but now we’re bringing foreign workers across the border into the United States to take our jobs. This is another pressure the American middle class doesn’t need.”
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Public Citizen and the Sierra Club challenged the program in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. The suit claims the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration breaks the following laws:
* It waives a law that trucks must display certain proof that they meet federal safety standards.
* It breaks the law requiring the pilot program to achieve an equivalent level of safety because Mexican drivers don’t have to meet the same physical requirements as U.S. drivers.
* It breaks the law that Mexico must provide simultaneous and comparable access to U.S. trucks. Mexico cannot do so because of the limited availability of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel in Mexico.
* It breaks the law that the pilot program must include enough participants to be statistically valid. The FMCSA’s proposal ensures that only the best Mexican trucks participate, which would allow it to justify letting any Mexican truck over the border in the future.
* It doesn’t comply with the environment requirement of the National Environmental Policy Act.

“Congress has repeatedly and overwhelmingly set tough safety conditions for any cross-border trucking program, and this one clearly doesn’t meet those conditions,” Hoffa said.
The pilot program got off to a rocky start when the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration approved trucking operator Grupo Behr from Tijuana, Mexico. The carrier owned one 20-year-old semi-tractor trailer with numerous safety issues. FMCSA had to disqualify it from the program after the Teamsters Union and others brought Grupo Behr’s safety record to light. A second carrier, Transportes Olympic, of Monterrey, Mexico, started operating in the U.S. last month. Safety concerns have also been raised about Transportes Olympic.
Founded in 1903, the Teamsters Union represents more than 1.4 million hardworking men and women in the United States and Canada.

Breaking News! CAPS TV ads call on President Obama to slow legal immigration until Los Angeles is working again President Obama Continues Admitting Millions of Legal Immigrants and Temporary Foreign Workers To Take Californians’ Jobs Despite High Unemployment

Los Angeles, CA – November 29, 2011 – Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) has launched a TV campaign in Los Angeles calling for lower levels of legal immigration and temporary foreign workers until Californians are working again. The ads are launching as President Obama continues to allow more than 1 million legal immigrants and temporary workers a year to come to America and take jobs despite the country’s highest unemployment levels since the Great Depression.

Marilyn DeYoung, Chairwoman of Californians for Population Stabilization commented, “President Obama had no problem circumventing Congress and invoking Executive Privilege to suspend deportation of 300,000 illegal aliens. Maybe it’s time he used his Executive Privilege to help unemployed Americans? He needs to reduce tomorrow’s legal immigration so Californians here today can get back to work.”

In Los Angeles, the unemployment rate is currently more than 11% but several areas of California have topped 16% within the last year. The national unemployment rate is around 9%.

More legal immigrants settle in California than any other state in the country. Additionally, the Los Angeles metropolitan area is second only to New York in highest number of legal immigrants settled annually. Yet, at a time when millions in California can’t find jobs, the Federal Government continues to flood California with legal immigrants and temporary foreign workers. The policy is having a particularly insidious effect on states like California, where the state has been forced to borrow $40 million a day from the Federal Government to pay unemployment benefits.

“Even if you haven’t lost your job, you’re paying a price for the flood of legal immigration. It’s coming out of your paycheck in the form of unemployment benefits for our fellow Californians,” commented Marilyn DeYoung, Chairwoman of Californians for Population Stabilization. “But you can’t blame legal immigrants. Blame our country’s leaders for continuing policies that are simply antiquated, stale, out of touch and unrealistic.”

Recent studies by the Pew Hispanic Center and Northeastern University of Boston indicate that new immigrants are landing American jobs while Americans are losing jobs. African Americans, Hispanic Americans and new immigrants have been disproportionately affected by the bad economy, with unemployment rates twice, even three times unemployment rates of the general population.

The North Carolina Illegal Alien Crime Report has been updated for the month. It is 59 Word doc. pages long! Keep in mind, this is not all the crimes by suspected illegal aliens in NC, it is only the ones that 2 people could post in one month's time. It would take a full staff working non-stop to post all of the crimes being committed; that's how bad it is getting here. (If you don't believe it, simply review the nearly 3 years worth of past crime reports on our website: www.NCFIRE.info)

The latest monthly report can be viewed online here: http://www.ncfire.info/november2011.pdf or downloaded here: http://www.ncfire.info/november2011.doc.

Every month the list just gets longer. The states surrounding NC are strictly enforcing their immigration laws. Their actions are driving the illegal alien population here since we continue our lax enforcement and acceptance of "sanctuary city" policies by numerous municipalities. This trend will only get worse and shows a complete disregard for our State laws, and a disrespect for our citizens, by illegal aliens in NC.

NCFIRE calls upon our Legislators in Raleigh, to enact "Arizona" type immigration laws as soon as possible. We must get ahead of this problem before any more of our citizens fall victim to the illegal alien crime wave that is sweeping our state.

America, under-mined by Amnesty in ANY form
‎...Illegal Immigration Costs U.S. $113 Billion A Year, Study Finds

The cost of harboring illegal immigrants in the United States is a staggering $113 billion a year -- an average of $1,117 for every “native-headed” household in America -- according to a study conducted by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). The study, a copy of which was provided to FoxNews.com, “is the first... and most detailed look at the costs of illegal immigration ever done,” says Bob Dane, director of communications at FAIR, a conservative organization that seeks to end almost all immigration to the U.S. ...

Alleged Illegal Immigrant Using Dead Teen's ID

Arpaio says he won't resign

Updated: Sunday, 11 Dec 2011, 2:48 PM MST
Published : Saturday, 10 Dec 2011, 5:36 PM MST

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies were raiding a Chandler restaurant Saturday evening as part of an identity theft operation.
Authorities executed a search warrant involving 10 suspects and arrested five of them.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio's deputies for several years have been raiding businesses where they suspect illegal immigrants are working using false identity documents. This was their 56th raid.

Sheriff's spokesman Christopher Hegstrom says the raid began just before 5 p.m.

The business that was raided is Si Senor Restaurant near North Alma School Road and Ray.
It's suspected that the business not only knew the employees were using fake IDs, but assisted them in identity theft. Using false identification is a felony.
The office said one of the suspects was allegedly using the identity of a Gilbert teenager who died in May.
"Illegal aliens are stealing identities of U.S. citizens to gain employment, while causing problems for citizens who did nothing wrong. This will not be tolerated, and we will continue to enforce the illegal immigration laws by continuing to raid private businesses, human smuggling and crime suppression operations," Arpaio said in a news release.
"One of the benefits of these employer sanctions/identity theft operations is that they open up job opportunities for legal citizens," he said.
As for the idea of resigning, Arpaio said he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
“This is a political situation. We cleared up our mess in 2007, and my message to everybody is I’m going to be around. I will continue to enforce all the laws, including the illegal immigration laws that they don’t like me to do,” Arpaio said.

Alert! Ask Congress stop giving tax credits to illegal aliens!Congress is trying to work out a deal this week to extend the payroll tax break for working Americans. One most logical proposal would finance part of it by eliminating billions of dollars given in tax credits to illegal aliens.

According to the Treasury Department, $4.2 billion in refundable credits were paid in 2010 to those who filed returns using Individual Tax Identification Numbers (ITINs), a group composed mostly of illegal workers. Only those eligible to work in the U.S. receive Social Security numbers, but the IRS allows illegal aliens to file using ITINs and then receive Child Tax Credits even if they paid no income taxes.

Alert! Senator Schumer wants to give American jobs to Irish illegal aliens!
There are over 13 million unemployed Americans, but Senator Schumer (D-NY) has introduced an immigration bill to give 10,000 Irish citizens, per year, new E-3 non-immigrant visas to work in the U.S. Moreover, it would include illegal aliens, those who have overstayed their visas and already broken our laws.

The legislation is an amendment to a bill that passed the House last month, which would allow easier access to employment and family-based visas for natives of Mexico, the Philippines, China, and India. The E-3 visas are for two years and can be renewed indefinitely so the legislation would lead to a permanent increase in U.S. population and continuing job competition for scarce jobs.

A couple of letters to the Editor

Orange County (Calif.) Register-11/2

Overpopulation meets U.S. immigration

Articles such asWorld population hits 7 billion [World, Nov. 1>are extremely important to educate people about the rapidly growing population of the world.

Unfortunately, the article didnt go far enough into problems created by the growing numbers. While most of the educated people of the world realize the worlds temperatures are rising, they tend to blame fossil fuels. That is probably correct, but we have used fossil fuels for hundreds of years without a problem. It only becomes a problem when too much fossil fuel is used. The use of fossil fuels has increased due to worlds exploding population.

Deforestation is another of the problems caused by overpopulation. The forests are being eliminated for the use of the lumber and to provide for more farmlands to feed the ever-increasing population. At the current rate of deforestation the worlds rain forests could completely disappear in a hundred years.

Already there is not enough food to feed everyone on our planet. Each day, tens of thousands of children die from malnutrition and its related diseases. Fresh water is another resource that cannot keep up with the population growth. The United States, however, faces an overpopulation problem, not because of too many births, but because of its immigration policies. Due to immigration, the Census Bureau estimates our population could be almost four times our 313 million by the next century.

Our federal government is allowing in four times the traditional numbers of immigrants. That means there are more than 1 million legal immigrants a year coming into the United States taking jobs during a time of recession. More than 50 percent of these immigrants are on welfare, which increases the economic burden on the American taxpayer. Then there is the problem of illegal immigrants, which account for an estimated 725,000 people a year.

For the United States, our population problems could be solved by the government changing its immigration numbers to accept traditional levels of a quarter of a million immigrants a year and by enforcing immigration laws. Regrettably, our government turns a blind to the problems it creates and makes them worse by not enforcing laws they already have.

Dave Gorak: Garson skips harm done by immigrants

Saturday columnist Karl Garson's ivory-towered love affair with immigration is a shortsighted view of a public policy issue inflicting pain on vulnerable members of our society.

Illegal aliens have handed many citizens the short end of the economic stick. While 22 million Americans are unable to find full-time employment, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, our corporation-owned federal government is permitting 7 million illegal aliens, says the Pew Hispanic Center, to keep their jobs in non-farming industries such as transportation, construction, manufacturing and service and hospitality industries.

More than 70 percent of these jobs, which the open-borders lobby and its media allies say Americans "won't do," already are being done by our citizens, according to a 2009 report.

Adding to this folly, says NumbersUSA, is the monthly issuance of 125,000 work permits to foreigners, most with few skills and little education, who then compete with Americans with like qualifications in a horrendous job market.

In the real world there is nothing to celebrate about today's irresponsible immigration policy that benefits only the cheap labor lobby and many politicians who think strictly in terms of being re-elected. There is only economic pain endured by millions of our own citizens, exacerbated by the knowledge that they have been betrayed by their own government.
