The Eagles are looking to sign Jalen Hurts for 50 million as year. He has 2 years tops left to even be an NFL starting qb.

And everyone thinks the Ravens are crazy for not signing Lamar Jackson. His best years are behind him. He will be hurt/ ineffective soon.. Od course, alot of this is the black medias which should be suppressed. They only have jobs because they are black... Steven Smith, that fat guy that played at LSU and the Cpwboys, and my personal favorite, Shannon sharpe who can't even put a thpought or sentence together. They are all paid millions and they suck. Blacks have it better thasn they ever have. They need to be fired and wealth seized.

Not 1 black qb has had a successful season past 30. Not 1 since Warren Moon and the only reason for that is at the time, this whole run and shoot was brand new.

Back then, most teams ran 21 personall.

Let this be the thread for stupid signings we will be seeing in trhe next 2-3 months.

Should make another one for stupid draft decisions. Stroud and Young will likely be top 5 picks. When has an Ohio State qb ever been just average in the NFL?

Corporate Greed! Check out name of Arrowhead Stadium. Imagine if people paid Social Security tax on their earnings? How it works now just $162,000 of their millions is taxed and when they retire their check is $1,600 a month minimum.

Show your support write your congressman… Play Illinois tonight minus the points

Remember when Cam Newton won the MVP?? 3 years later he can't even get a back up gig.

Peyton Manning is the greatest of all time... Set a shit ton of passing records in I think 2015.... Just 2 years later, he couldn't hit a 10 yard out pattern.

Lamar Jackson without question will regress like we have never seen. Black qbs when good, start out fast and then are done in a couple years which as I have pointed oput; never hasve a good season after 30 years old. When the pocket passers are just entering their prime

Actually I think everyone agrees about Lamar Jackson and why Baltimore hasn't signed him yet

Everyone including the Ravens are a little gun shy

His legs & body are slowing down and as usually is the case with running quarterbacks, once the ability to run is gone, they have no arm to fall back on

It's looking like Ravens may tag Lamar

They're gonna need him until they can actually get some skill position players. Their defense is legit

Hurts is pretty good, think he has a little more accuracy than typical run-heavy QB. Probably not worth top end dollar though. His production will regress as that offensive line does

Hurts was hurtsing on his Hail Mary Sunday. I think signing anyone for over a year could be a mistake. We live on weekly or weakly paychecks think anyone could survive on yearly And Social Security will live forever if… They paid tax on anything over $162,000

If you don't have the guy at qb, take 1 every year mid round.... pay them nothing... build the roster

Truth is on average there is 1 franchise quarterback every 3-4 years..... People act like every draft there is 3-4. LOL

I also like 4 year quarterbacks.... Says alot about the brain.

Jalen Hurts is the stoic mistake-free QB the Cowboys wish Dak was.

Jalen Hurts is the QB a very good Titans team were missing when Derrick Henry was in his prime tearing up the league.

Jalen Hurts thrives and is insulated from trouble because of a very good system around him.

That said, Jalen Hurts is not worth 50m a year.

Not sure what you guys saw. I bet KC and Hurts was without question the MVP of that game.

I had my doubts also but that guy looked sensational as both a runner and passer the entire year. Lock him up.

The guy had 0 super bowl jitters. Was amazing the entire game. Had one fluke fumble.

Agreed.

For the 50 million. The market rate is the market rate.

Taking into account everything you have been saying(obviously not JUST this post) but your racism runs strong.

Not sure anyone else would disagree. Including perhaps even you.

Jalen is a good QB but he’s going to have a tough time trying to win any rings, especially if Mahomes is still around.

What i like about Hurts is he stays in the pocket and runs when it's needed. He doesn't just take off running every time the 1st or even 2nd option is covered. He smartly picks his spots. Just great in all 3 play-off games. Can't ask anymore from a QB.

He backed up his great regular season. Nothing at this point not to like---and i was a BIG critic earlier this year.

"The market is the market" ... Meaning because a few teams are stupid, everyone else has to follow suit?

Why can't someone just say "NO!"???

The record-setting Mahomes deal threw QB salaries out of whack, and it's been one batshit insane signining after another since.

Actually, the problem isn't Mahomes. Pay him - worth every penny. The problem is the agents/players/teams who believe "their guy" is "75% as good as Mahomes, therefore deserve 75% of his money."

That's not how it works. The NFL is a zero sum game, meaning the 75% guys will never win against the benchmark QBs.

So why pay them?

If you say No another team will pay him.

That's why...

Not sure what you're complaining about. Like all employees in every job----the employer only pays you because you make them more money then you cost them. And of course an agents job is to get his client as much as possible.

Hurts will get A LOT more than 75 percent of Mahomes contract. Hell Hurts might becomes highest paid player in the league.

And then the Eagles will have to shed salaries/players and Hurts will be exposed as less than stellar.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

I get agents are out to maximize their client's interests, but from a team perspective it makes zero sense.

Like the OP headline says, most NFL front offices are stupid.

This was Jalen's first good season.

In 2021, he was NOT good. He was my fantasy QB and his "good" numbers came from garbage time. I still remember Troy Aikman basically calling him "garbage" in the wild card game at Tampa

Jalen had a great year in 2022. He looked good. He also had an AWESOME offensive line, 2 solid receivers, and a decent running game. Philly also had an easier schedule and played from ahead alot so Jalen was barely used as a 1 dimensional QB.

Jalen is also on a rookie deal where he was a 2nd rd draft pick so you have a QB on the cheap which allowed better players to be with him.

I bet many didnt know this but this was the first time since he was in high school that he had the same offensive coordinator for 2 straight seasons. Possibly NOT learning a new scheme helped him b/c a better QB this season (NOTE: His OC just took the HC job with Indy).

50 million a year is crazy but that will probably be the market rate right now and hoping that in the later years of the contract (if he is good) that the 50 mil will be a "bargain" based on future value.

Philly has a pretty good GM. He put a lot of good things in place. Going to be interesting to see what they do with Jalen. Also wondering if Jalen signs his extension before Herbert and Burrow?

Fantastic analysis!

Another disastrous QB contact in the making.

Mistake with his shoulder injury. His scrambles to left showed me his shoulder was a problem and if not shoulder?
