The US Gov't just can't come in and confiscate funds in a foreign country! NETeller is just trying to make money with the money they have as we won't be dealing with them anymore. Since they are a publicly traded company, I find it hard to believe that they would stiff anyone! There would be major problems with shareholders and the AIM should they go that route!

Let's not start the "public company" argument again.

Worst job on earth right now must be Neteller CS Chat. Upset customers, being kept in the dark by management and zero job security.

As a non-US Neteller customer I can tell you that I've had no trouble emptying my funds into UK books so far. Not taking any chances. As we discovered when an exchange site called Sportingoptions went bust, assurances from sportsbooks that funds are ring-fenced and safely invested for customers etc tend to be meaningless when a firm goes into liquidation. There must be a huge run on the Neteller bank currently. Every US gambler withdrawing perforce and most non-US punters running for cover. Who knows how uncomfortable this may be for Neteller?

So is the first post in this thread true or not?

Not for me. I cancelled an EFT today and moved it via peer to peer transfer. Just gotta get the right C.S. rep I think. Hardest part was getting through to them on the phone. I got hung up on several times by their answering (on hold) service after waiting a good long while before finally getting through.

I'll close it when I get my money...which will be god knows when.
ya this is only for people with a zero balance....I feel sorry for all you guys that are trying to recoup monies

why couldnt one establish a address in canada.....then open a acct with a canadian bank??

then neteller would have no excuse not to pay eh?

I mean can anyone confirm if they are paying canandian acct holders?

I could have sworn someone in canada posting on here the other day stating that they recieved a EFT deposit from neteller within 2 business days

now this is only if you had BIG money in neteller.....if it was under a grand I would just chalk it up as a loss and accept that its already gone

Get real. NT is not under US jusidiction at all and would not be able to tell if you closed anything. In furthrance you are assuming a lot, like there is a gambling police for instance. Snap out of it.

Is there any way to "close" accounts at sportsbooks as well, or is withdrawing all my funds all that I can do? BTW, I'm doubtful that this will even matter at all, but I might as well do as much as I can. Better safe than sorry.

In order to instantly cancel a pending EFT you need to be a Neteller VIP member. If not there is no ETA as to when pending EFT's will be cancelled.

People who have been able to do this instantly over the phone have VIP status and get connected to VIP customer service Reps.

I am in the same boat. I have gotten all of my money off of neteller except for my pending EFT (not sure when if ever I will be able to get it though).

fwiw - this is the transcript of the conversation I just had with a neteller trying to get the efts cancelled. The best I got was a email to a secret department. lol. Almost zero chance of getting the efts cancelled.

NETELLER: Welcome to our live chat service. How may we help you?
ME: I want to cancel my efts
ME: they were accepted and then you guys didnt pay and you moved them back to pending with no explanation
NETELLER: It is due to the high demands of refunds that have been since the US legislation had been in affect.
ME: dont care. I want the EFTs cancelled
NETELLER: One moment please.
ME: and please dont tell me the "high demand" lie. I know better. I have been on the boards and not a single U.S. person has been paid after the 16th. Please dont insult me
NETELLER: Thats not an insult that is the answer every US client has gotten. High volumes of refund requests
ME: I know it isnt true and you know it isnt true. Either way, I dont care. I simply want my efts cancelled. Please cancel them. Thanks in advance
NETELLER: So the only other way you can withdrawal is a check by mail which can also take 4-6 weeks .
ME: So, you can have a check sent to me right now?
NETELLER: Yes you would have to log into your NETELLER account and request a check by mail. That will take 4-6 weeks for you to get your funds aswell.
ME: first you need to cancel my efts. I have asked kindly now several times. Please cancel the efts immediately. Thank you
NETELLER: One moment please
NETELLER: Unfortunately you will have to wait for your EFTS to be cancelled i have to e mail the appropriate department to have them cancelled.
ME: why can you not cancel them? Respectfully, it is a simple task.
NETELLER: Yes but the right department needs to do that you and they are only here during regular business hours .
ME: Respectfully, I believe that not to be true since I do know someone who had it cancelled via live chat. If what you say it true why were they able to cancel it and I am not?
NETELLER: Yes but as i told you with your EFTs you will need the appropriate department.
ME: what is the appropriate department? Who is the person? What is their direct telephone number?
NETELLER: I had already asked my supervisor if we can cancel you EFTS and this is what i have been told so i will email the appropriate department if you like.
ME: Respectfully, you did not answer my questions. What is this so called "appropriate department"? If you are not the person who can do this who can? I want name of department for starters? What country are they in?
NETELLER: Canada
NETELLER: As per our privacy policy i can not give you the name of the department but l said i will email that department if you like so your EFT withdrawals can be cancelled
ME: Wait a minute....please let me understand. You are holding $xx,xxx of my money and you havent paid for 2 weeks even though there has been no legal ruling anywhere that prevents you. I have a method to get my money out but you cant do it but some ultra-secretive department whose name you cannot even mention can?
NETELLER: Like I said I can e mail and get them cancelled for you or you can call us if you like.
NETELLER: In order to better assist you with your inquiry, we will need you to give us a call. Please contact our Customer Support toll free at 1-888-258-5859 (0 then 1) and we will be happy to assist you!
ME: email them first please and let me know when you have.
NETELLER: One moment please.
NETELLER: I have sent the e-mail
NETELLER: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
ME: thanks. Please cut and paste the email here so I know what was sent for further correspondence. Feel free to remove any sensitive info.
NETELLER: Unfortunately that is not possible Because that is a eternal e-mail but i have commented your account stating that i have emailed the appropriate department.
ME: Okay. Then just roughly tell me what you emailed to them.
NETELLER: That doesn't matter i requested what you had asked me to request.
NETELLER: Now if there isn't anything else I can help you with i'm going to end this chat.
ME: When may I expect to hear back from someone?
NETELLER: 1-2 business days
ME: Will they call or email me?
ME: I prefer a call
NETELLER: E-mail
ME: what email do you have on file for me just to make sure it is correct
NETELLER: I need you to tell me and i can confirm if that's the e-mail address we have.
ME: I dont remember. I have several that go into the same account. I assume it is xxxxxxx Is that correct?
NETELLER: Yes that is correct.
ME: Thank you.

How are they going to send you a check if you're in the USA? From what i've heard they can't send checks as banks won't take them.

BetonSports is publically traded and stiffed all USA customers.

Now something everyone is forgetting is when Neteller stock starts to trade again and if it plummets they could be hit with shareholder lawsuits which would drive the price of the stock down even more. In the end they could end up declaring bankruptcy. Then everyone that filed a lawsuit would get pennies on the dollar for everything that neteller actually owned. This would include USA customers, shareholders, european customers, office lease rent, Lawyers for both sides etc.

We can't go to Canada to pick up a check, nor the Isle of Man or the UK. The fact of the matter at this point, after talking with several reps this morning, is that Neteller is unsure if they can LEGALLY pay U.S. customers at this point, so that seems to be the entire problem at this point.

Take this anyway you want, but I personally think that once legal proceedings get going, Neteller will be hammered with suits and this thing could drag on for quite some time.

If they don't know if they can legally pay USA customers then they should know they sure as hell can't legally keep the funds. Not know if they can legally pay USA customers is BS IMO because the funds are not being used for gambling. They are giving back money that people have in their accounts. I'm sure some of the money came from gambling sites as withdrawals and others were deposits to be made into gambling sites.

If neteller told you this then it seems as if the answers keep going from one thing to another. Also you know other members from other Countries are keeping up with this. So if they continue to use excuses if that's really the case then they are hurting themselves with members from other Countries. I mean why would they continue to trust them?
