few observations

1) don't blame James for pursuing his dream and living his life, but the way he handled this was immature, unprofessional, inconsiderate, narcissistic & selfish.
2) he seems to have made an enemy of the Cavs owner, who plans to tell all shortly.
3) the way he handled this means he'll never get the same respect / love as MJ, Kobe, Bird, Magic....................
4) the Heat are now the most hated team in America
5) these type of manipulated events don't always pan out, karma is a bitch

6) did somebody suggest Pippen was a great player? MJ made Pippen, and the proof is in the history books. What did Pippen do without MJ? nadda squatta

Miami will be LeBron's team within a couple of years and he knows this.

If it comes down to keeping Wade or LeBron, who do you think the Heat organization is really going to let go? They will kick Dwyane to the curb as if he never existed.

Not to mention Wade's health will be an issue far before LeBron even reaches his prime....

Hache, you summarized it accurately.

Every NBA team since 1980 has had 2 HOF, except the 2004 Pistons and the '94 Rockets. Like it or not Gasol, will get to the HOF, because of his Spanish Contributions to the national team.

Magic had Kareem and Big Game. Larry had DJ/Mchale. MJ had Scottie. Dream had Clyde the 2nd time around.

wade has a ring and playoff mvp lebron is joining wades team.... the greats dont go joining other players teams because its the only way to win a championship, he is not even close to those players they won and he lost and quit and is now trying to take the easy road to a ring. he is no where near as competitive as those greats could you see bird joining the lakers or jordan to the rockets or magic to the celtics never...

i dont think lebron cares about being mj, kobe is more into that.

lebron is the same guy who retired his 23 jersey and pushed a league wide retirement of the number 23 jersey because he himself said there will never be anyone else like jordan.

the only thing he cares about imo are the championships, which is why they all decided to form this super team, to win championships.

this all time great legacy stuff is pointless imo. when its all said and done, everyone knows he'll go down as one of the top 5 to ever play the game, regardless of who he played with.

I think that where LeBron lost a ton of respect is the way in which he went about this process. He's a free agent, he gets to play where he wants to play. I think this was a done deal quite some time ago. I did not watch one minute of the ESPN circus last night as I found the whole charade tasteless. At least for now, Lebron has gone from a much loved played to one of the mosted hated.

I think everyone associated with this long drawn out fiasco lost a ton of credibility. There's no way the Nets or NY had a chance so why waste their time? Just let them know so they can go on to build their teams. Cavs say once the season ended Lebron returned no calls or text messages to the team and they only found out once he made his decision. To me, that's just bad business. This crew will be the most hated group in the NBA all year.

pippen and mj made each other better... kobe , bird and magic had great players around them... lebron didnt.

i dont blame him one bit for wanting to play with his friends.. who wouldnt want to do that... cleveland should have taken a year off and cleared an assload of cap room and brought in 2 big names so lebron would stay.

Wow, someone who finally has the same point of view as I do.

There are so many people angry at LeBron for simply UPGRADING his life.

He's all about WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS now. TEAM. Not individual stats.

BTW, Riley just snared MIKE MILLER!

I'm happy as "hell" (no pun intended) that the Heat are now the "most hated" organization in the NBA. Bring it on. Jealousy is not pretty. :lolBIG:

Spoken like a true Orlando Magic fan! :toast: Wishful thinking.
Again, I'm looking forward to seeing the intense in-state rivalry between the Magic and Heat.

Players didn't want to go to Cleveland. PERIOD!!!! Remember Boozer even gave Cleveland the shaft and went to Utah of all places to play. Had the Cavaliers had a better GM that could lobby and make the trades for players to surround Lebron he would have stayed. I even think that had Lebron won a previous title in Cleveland he would have stayed. When Boston got Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett to play alongside Paul Pierce and they went out and got a ring Lebron knew then that Cleveland couldn't make the necessary roster changes year after year to compete for a title. I don't blame Lebron for leaving I just didn't like the "Decision" spectacle he created just to make it all about him.

Now the question is will Allen Iverson come off the bench for Miami or will Cleveland try to sell some cheap tickets and sign AI to be a scorer ala Shawn Kemp in 1997?

Excellent post! :toast:

I agree with you here. I don't like the way the Cavs owner is handling things though. It's something he could say in private, but not to the public. Shit it doesn't help him bringing in new players because they will think he will do the same thing to them if they later decide to leave Cleveland.

No one truly knows, but I feel that if Michael had not won a championship and he had a chance to go to the Lakers and join Magic Johnson....I think he would not have left Chitown for LA. IMHO.

LeBron James - F - Heat

Chris Broussard said on ESPN Friday that a big reason that LeBron James didn't sign with the Bulls is that they didn't offer enough perks for LeBron's family and friends.
One of LeBron's buddies was hired by the Cavaliers and he wanted his entourage to be able to travel on the Bulls' tab, but the team, according to Broussard, said 'we didn't do that for Michael Jordan, so we're not doing it for you.' Jul. 9

Well if the Cavs' owner goes thru w/his threat to start telling all that they did for Lebron I guess things could get real ugly. I'm sure that places like TMZ will have the dirt sooner or later.
