I think after this month the Big 12 will be nowhere to be found. One of the most ignorant moves that I've ever seen was a conference agreeing to schedule all of it's big games between it's best 4 teams in a one month window without any bye weeks. The stupidity of this conference never ceases to amaze me. All for the sake of money. In this case TV ratings.

It's only the 1st f'ing wk, relax. After Sat. Clem/FSU, Tide/LSU, someone is falling out of the top 4.

And IF ND runs it w/a last gm W @ Palo Alto sure as hell they'll be in!!! Like it or not. Look @ Baylor's last 5, no way in hell they run the table IMO!!

Will also add i think Florida should be higher, the gators are much better then I thought. I love their swarming defense and quickness and aggressiveness they play with on both sides of the ball. GoSooner it is unfortunate with QB situation at Baylor, would have liked to see them in final 4. I think they are the most complete team in Big12. Maybe this kid will step in and they wont miss a beat? They have had multiple QB's step in and that train keeps rolling...

i agree on ND, have liked that team all year. would have been great to see them play clemson in better weather conditions... I am NOT saying the weather helped clemson, they are as soid as anyone and the weather affected both teams.

1. I think the committee bias toward Bama, don't think they should be in top 6 JUST YET. Maybe down the road when they beat LSU.
2. On one hand they rank teams base on SOS and who or manner they beat thus putting Big 12 three undefeated teams outside looking in. But yet, they rank Ohio St. at #3. None of their past opponents were high ranking, nor the manner they been winning games impressive compare to Baylor. Some of the games were wire into 4th quarters. If TCU or Baylor somehow go undefeated and get snubbed. That's a tragedy

Even if Baylor still had Seth Russell, they have to play KSU, OU, OSU and TCU all in a row without a bye week, with 3 of those games on the road. Really stupid scheduling by the Big 12. It is incredibly difficult to get up for two tough games in a row, much less four. All this tells me is where the heads are at with the brass in this conference. It's all about the money. They know next to nothing about how the game of football works.

The committee should (subtly) give the good looks (and other attributes) of the cheerleaders who contribute to their team when they determine who the play-off teams will be. After all, they insert more than "cheers" to up-lift the moral of the team......some will even take the "edge-off" some of the boys on a one-on-one basis...... I think that ought to be worth something. Coaching, talent and X's & O's are worth a lot but team moral is important too.

MAC, my man love the way U think USC #1, "Song Girls" eatable!!!

It would be interesting to know how Memphis recruits the talent they have on their roster especially with Fayetteville, Starkville, Oxford and Baton Rouge just down the road not to mention Alabama & Tennessee turning-over every rock and Oklahoma always sniffing around. They always had a decent BB program especially when Calipari was there. The City of Memphis must have a lot to offer.

Alabama Defense Trumps Baylor Offense.

Not sure why people still think Bama defense is still great. It's good no doubt, but beatable. This is not the same D from 2012 season. Since then, every team with a good offense had put 40+ on them (OMiss, Ohio st., OU, Auburn..etc.). SEC is offensive challenged thus Bama's defensive number.

Baylor has great offense. I believe it would be favorite or PK, if their QB were still playing against Bama on neutral field. I feel bad for them.

Vegas agrees with me at least. Here's current odds to win NC:
ALABAMA +400
BAYLOR +300
CLEMSON +600
LSU +650
MICHIGAN ST +800
OHIO ST +150

Bama has the best defense in the country. There shouldn't even be a doubt about that. And their numbers back it up. But their QB is another story.

hmm, wonder why?

12-2
14-0
10-3
12-1
13-1
11-2
12-2
7-1

91-12 might have something to do with the love.... :think2:

Bama being top 4 this week is irrelevant. If they beat LSU they were always going to be top 4 next week anyway and whichever team loses will drop out. but picking Baylor as the team that should be ahead of them is pretty comical as they might be the least deserving power 5 unbeaten
If Lsu loses a tough game then they will argue why should they drop out. Their loss would be better than Bamas. Just for the sake of an argument

Some things never change. You'd think they might not try that again....but if one team makes it out alive?

If Baylor or TCU make it through undefeated they deserve to be in the playoff. I think the playoff committee would look very stupid by leaving an undefeated Power 5 team out of the playoff. Especially after last year's debacle. But like I said, I would be very surprised if a Big 12 team went undefeated through the November gauntlet. But we'll see...said the blind man

Not disagree with numbers, just looking at results last couple years whenever they play against other conference top O teams. Again, SEC is offensive challenged thus Bama's defensive number

Just don't think that Bama will "own" Baylor as the other poster suggested, or shut them down.

I hope so too because B12 top teams remaining schedule are full of big games. Only thing is, they are so far below (Baylor will not win out w/o their QB) which almost impossible to make up ground, even if LSU/Bama/Ohio st. lose one game.

no doubt. by at least 23, maybe 30

LOL, tongue in cheek I presume. As for Baylor, Russell isn't lost, no way in hell they get the sixth seed. It's absolutely unbelievable that the ACC has a team in the first four let alone top dog. All preseason long, the press was saying the ACC would be left out this year, no chance in hell. They don't lose to the Seminoles in Death Valley, and the rest is a cake walk. Expect to see them in the playoff.

way too early to get into this crap. I'll let you all get into these, ahemm, arguments.

i was more commenting on some dumbass wondering why alabama gets love and figured the 91-12 and soon-to-be 8-straight 10+ win seasons might have something to do with it.

if i was on the committee bama would be sitting outside the top 4 today but inside if they win on saturday so i don't really see what difference it makes other than to start a homerism thread on a betting website. i wouldn't have any big 12 team in the top 4 until the clear top 4 start playing each other, like this week. but doesn't matter what i think, you think, or piss piss thinks.
