I saw the #1 Vikings message board just closed down because of all this. Pretty crazy...

It's gonna get worse before it gets better up there.
I'm thinking that they have to sit him at this point.

several long time friends are arguing so much on different sides of this its breaking apart friendships. its pretty bad here to be honest. really emotional strong stances on both sides and seems like nobody in the middle of this.

I don't really see what there is to argue about. Anyone that sees those photos can't possible argue the kid wasn't abused. What he did to that kid isn't normal punishment.

AP on exempt list until legal proceedings play out, pretty much means he is done for the year

Wow. Big difference between coming home and beating a child vs punishing a child too harshly.

Best analogy I can think of is murder vs involuntary manslaughter. They end in the same result but intentions play a HUGE role in what sentence you receive.

This punishment does not fit the crime IMO. He didn't hit the kid bc he had a bad day and wanted to take it out on him.

A pro football player hit a 4-year-old in the face and left marks on his scrotum. Does it really matter why he did it?

How was this punishment acceptable to any child, nevermind a 4 year old?

What could that child have possibly done so wrong that he deserved that treatment?

How can you defend this behavior?
