I am saying this again... there was an interview in street clothes and he looked tired, seemed 5 yrs older than last year, and he has lost muscle mass. In full gear with his helmet on it is not nearly as noticeable.

The locker room hates him, he is a prick, is he saying "fuck it"? Has he hit that age barrier, finally, it does not always come incrementally, it comes quickly sometimes.

We shall see.

maybe he took the shot

I sound like a nagging wife?

lol re read this post. Oh the irony

Relax man

That's quite a talent you possess. The ability to read into my tone on a message board, as salty from a commentary into my opinion of the Packers playoff chances on which you wrote off completely after week 1? I wrote that off the top of my head with a little sarcasm if anything. The Yankees will be fine and get into the WC. Just found it comical how they were written off and as fading even though they were still retaining a WC spot through their rut, lol. When I get salty, you'll know without a doubt. No need to reach and speculate.

I was just giving you shit man. This is a sports betting message board. The whole point is talking/arguing about sports

I definitely didn't write off their playoff chances though. I said they are not a lock to make it, which is true.

Maybe you read it as a "lock not to" -- which is a very different thing obviously.

Dude I love ball busting, it's what is expected from many NY sports fans. But to answer your original statement I feel the Pack will be a lock to make the post season because of what I see as a weak division. Lions suck, Vikes are mediocre and the Bears could be decent when they decide to inject Justin Fields. Which BTW if he has any kind of success he will be the first Ohio State QB to truly do that in NFL history.

He obviously has far more upside than Dalton. And the job will be his at some point. What I'm hearing, is although Fields has all the talent to be a very good NFL QB, he's had trouble grasping a good part of the playbook. And he'd be starting right now if he was ready. So he'll be featured in scaled down packages to fit his skill set in the meantime.

Or he'll be thrown to the wolves before he's mentally grasped enough of the playbook when the Bears are 2-5 and fans are calling for Nagy's head. Or maybe after week 2 if the Bears lose to the Bengals. :)

Might as well play him and let him learn a little bit.

Bears aren’t going anywhere anyway

Nagy is coaching for his job this season. If he doesn't make the playoffs again, most believe he's done. He's going to play the guy that he thinks gives him the best chance to win every week. He doesn't care about the big picture or developing anyone.

If he was just hired and this was year one, that wouldn't be the case. He could play the young guy who's not ready and let him learn while sacrificing some possible wins. He doesn't have that luxury.

Fields is not ready.

He played in a simpleton offense at OSU the NFL is a whole new world, he is talented but needs to learn.

Most rookie QBs that can run well too often default to run the ball every time a receiver is not open... hell eg. Trubisky got his shoulder, hip, everything dinged because he ran as soon as things did not look right. Fields needs to get rid of the ball or move in the pocket, not run all the time and get dinged.

Let's at least give it a week and see how Dalton and the offense do against the Bengals. Perhaps, the Rams defense is again the #1 defense in the league and is not a good sample size to go build a church on.

If the offense struggles against Cinci? I'd hit the panic button if I were Nagy and roll my dice with the young kid who may not be ready. But can maybe win some games with his athleticism.

Dalton is not as bad as the narrative, he is no prize, but a team can win with him.

OL is the problem for the Bears, they revamped (addition by subtraction) but did not invest... they need to trade Foles to a desperate contender for a serviceable OL. Even trade Dalton (to Washington?) if Fields starts to come along and they feel comfortable that he "gets it".

Bears need a CB, too, but OL is the BIG problem.

All you need to know is that Mike Tomczak had the best career of any Ohio State quarterback ever drafted although Art Schlichter probably pocketed the most money.

That's why OSU QB's haven't made it in the NFL, they have 5 cent heads.

Tomczak was OK, good backup. The best THE Ohio State has ever produced to the NFL. Not a high bar.

I guess Joe Germaine should have transferred for his senior season.
