Tua Tagovailoa, from Honolulu, Hawaii, decided to play for the Tide over Hawaii, USC,
UCLA, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. He is rated the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the

Jesus Machado, an eight-grade linebacker from Hialeah, Florida, has received verbal
offers from Alabama, Michigan State, West Virginia, North Carolina State and Iowa St.
Verbal offers are nonbinding and prospects are not allowed to receive written offers
until their senior year.

If I'm not mistaken, LSU running back Leonard Fournette was receiving offers when
he was in the eight grade.

Stephen Guidry, the nation's No. 1 rated junior college wide receiver recruit visited
Alabama last week and said he had moved the Tide to the top of his list. The 6-4,
195 pound Guidry played his JUCO ball at Hinds Community College. He list Bama
as his first choice and LSU as number two.

Gosh Clover.....If the "tentacles" of the recruiters reach as far-down as the 8th grade, can 6th & 7h (grade) be far away.......(8h grade......unbelievable.

Les Miles would recruit an embryo if he knew it was going to be a 5 star stud.

NORTH CAROLINA has gotten off to a fast start in the 2017 recruiting cycle thanks to its
stellar work in landing the best prospects in its own backyard. The top rated prospect in
North Carolina's class is 4-Star offensive lineman Jonah Melton, who has been committed
to the Tar Heels since October 2015. While he seems to be solid in his pledge, Virginia
Tech is making an all out assault to land Melton.

Alabama and Southern Cal have now offered 3-Star defensive end Jacob Lichtenstein. The
6-5, 240 pound Florida native has gotten offers from California, Missouri, Maryland, Pitt,
Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Illinois, Nebraska, Indiana, Minnesota, Oregon, Kentucky
Virginia, Colorado and several others. Hell of a lot of interest in a 3-star rated recruit
and since Saban has offered, the interest will become more intense.

Florida State and Wisconsin have offered 3-Star athlete Devin Morris who is a Texas A&M
pledge.

The recruiting wars are getting down and dirty.

ARIZONA STATE - Orange County College offensive lineman Alex Losoya committed to
the Sun Devils over Auburn last week. The 6-4, 300-pounder had offers from Baylor,
Arkansas, Louisville, Missouri, New Mexico State and Texas State.

ALABAMA - The Tide could add some more depth across the defensive line. Steve
Tu'ikolovatu, a 6-1, 320 pound defensive tackle who graduated from Utah recently,
visited Alabama earlier this week and was impressed with the school and coaching
staff. Tuikolovatu could join JUCO transfer Jamar King as veteran depth for the Bama
defensive line if he chooses Alabama. He is also considering USC and Nebraska.

BAYLOR TAILSPIN CONTINUES - Kellen Bond, the nation's number four rated dual-threat
quarterback is no longer committed to Baylor. Bond said that Auburn, Ohio State and Texas
A&M are schools he now is considering with Auburn being the leader. The four-star prospect
threw for 1,991 yards and 26 touchdowns and rushed for 898 yards and 7 touchdowns as a
junior at San Antonio (Tx) Reagan High as a junior. He has since moved to Bradenton, Fla.
where he will attend IMG Academy his senior year. At last count, Baylor has had seven recruits
decommit so far because of the mess going on there.

As far as I know Coach, Tu'lkolovatu has not made a commitment yet. I know Alabama is still actively
recruiting the big fellow.

OCTAVIUS MATTHEWS, the nation's number one junior college running back, who was pledge to Louisville
changed his mind after visiting Auburn over the weekend. Matthews said he was certain Auburn was where
he wanted to play his college football. He rushed for 808 yards in 10 games at Itawamba Community College
last season averaging 8.6 yards per carry. As a senior in high school, he rushed for 1,752 yards averaging
11.2 yards per carry. He is working to graduate from Itawamba (Fulton, MS) in December in order to be a
midyear enrollee at Auburn come January.

Tuikolovatu is a mormon, turns 25 this month and married. I've heard distance, playing time and NFL are 3 of the biggest factors. Not sure if the wifey is going to travel with him, but I've heard late June is his timeline.

Lichenstein already done "blowed up". Alabama offer is a few months late for that. But I guess the star-gazers know who he is now.

According to Chad Simmons, recruits need five attributes to be successful in college.

1. DESIRE: To be great regardless of size or speed, you have to want it.
2. SIZE: There are some exceptions, but to be a real impact player at a top program,
you need size in today's game of football.
3. MENTAL TOUGHNESS: You have to enter college with an open mind ready to listen,
learn and grind it out for 12 months a year.
4. COACHABLE: Things are not always going to go the way you expected when you
get to the next level. High school stars will be ask to do things differently, learn new
positions etc., so they have to be receptive.
5. ATHLETICISM: Regardless of where you play, you need to be some type of an athlete.
The college game is fast, so how you move is so important.

Welcome any comments........................

What's the word on this JUCO transfer?
Bama has hosted him twice but I don't believe he has an offer. Today they are hosting JUCO defensive end Rod Jones out of the national champs, CCSF. They got a commit from his teammate for 2017 OL earlier this week but this kid would be able to play right away. He was defensive POY at that level....

i expect the big Utah kid to end up at Nebraska

I think his playing time would best be served at NU. NU lost 4 DT's (2 to NFL, 1 to transfer to MSU, 1 retiree). I'm not sure the transfer guy would have started, but would have been the first off the bench for sure. The retiree has a lot of starts at DE and really is more of a DT. This year is looking to be a youth movement in the trenches. Would be a huge pickup.

Miami hanging in at No. 4 is impressive for Mark Richt and staff.
This 2016 season is going to be a good one for the Canes.

Saban may just be the BEST all time recruiter in CFB history.

Bama camp was this week so a huge week for verbals...of course need to see who sticks.

We got two today....

4-star LB (was 5-star last year) Markail Benton from Phenix City and K Brandon Ruiz from Arizona. Ruiz has a youtube vid banging a 76-yarder off the ground and actually plays football unlike Pineiro who decommitted for Florida last year. Ruiz hit a 51-yd game winner last year and 55 of 59 kickoffs were touchbacks

these guys were not on the rivals update i posted above so now at 13 for 2017. Ruiz should get some stars now ... only 1 kicker in nation for 2017 had a star rating and that was 3-stars Pressley Harvin. Ruiz should snag 2 or 3 after camping
