The bottom line for OU is they lose almost everybody on offense, and practically nobody on defense. If Bradford leaves it would be 8 longtime starters gone off the offense including the entire offensive line. Off the top of my head the defense just loses Nic Harris and Lendy Holmes. Possibly Demarcus Granger if he foregoes his senior season and goes pro. Which is possible since he would be considered a first rounder or early second. OSU will be a veteran team next year and probably should be rated ahead of OU. But the only problem they may have is breaking in some new coaches. Losing DC Beckman to Toledo was huge.

Don't forget Mccoy on Defense. He'll be gone too

Ohio State should be preseason #1

No way. Their defense loses a lot of experience and talent to the NFL. Their offense simply won't be that talented aside from Pryor. They will be worse at running back for sure, and they really don't have any game breaking wide-outs to speak of either. I actually think it could be a down year in Columbus if the rest of the big ten could step it up.

The question to me is what kind of a program is WVU? Pat White and Slaton are gone. Will they regress or reload is the question. I think regress big time.

I think the Mountaineers -- maybe the funnest team to watch for much of 2006 and 2007 -- are going to be down for quite a while. With their studs gone and a coach clearly in way over his head I think it's back to the bad ol' days for WVU.

Guys like Rich Rodriguez don't come their way very often. They should have ponied up everything they could to keep him.

Boston College is another program that may suffer because of their high-handed ways in dealing with talented coaches. Firing Jeff Polishnamski because he interviewed for a dream gig was arrogant, stupid and short-sighted.

Yeah I agree. I think the farther removed they get from the Rodriguez coaching reign, the farther down their program will go. Plus the fact that the Mountaineers identity has been defined by Pat White for the last four years. With him gone I don't think they'll look much like the team that we've seen in the past.

He is taking about Gerald mcCoy of OU, not Colt.
By the way, Gerald McCoy is a sophomore. But I think maybe he might be like Sam Bradford and be a redshirt sophomore. And that would make him eligible to leave for the NFL now if he wants to.

McCoy is a true sophomore.

OU in the top eight is very optimistic. OU in the top twelve if Bradford leaves is even more optimistic.

Rodriguez is horrible.
You're pre-judging Rodriguez because of one bad year at Michigan, where he had virtually nothing to work with on offense coming in. Give him a couple years to draft the players he needs for his system and I'll bet their fortunes turn around. He is one of the great young offensive minds in football. Another great offensive mind and a coach that I think will be missed by his old school is Paul Johnson. I'm betting the farther he is removed from Navy the more downhill they'll go.

According to the US Today Gerald McCoy is a redshirt sophomore. That's why I keep hearing the local media outlets talking about him leaving early.

Florida will not be challenged if Tebow comes back. They return pretty much everyone.

Yeah, you're right. Sooner Sports had him listed as a true for some reason.

bama #3 is crazy, IMO. Will be starting a QB for their first game, likely McElroy who never challenged JPW in 3 years for playing time. Smith is gone and Mountain probably going to NFL too. I think they'll be good, but not top 5

Anyone look at the Gators schedule. It's a joke how easy it is for an SEC schedule.
