I am not even sure why that forum is still up to be honest as it was taken down 2 years ago...
I still remember a line you used early on during those chat sessions at ThinkDog that has stuck with me even today...When the NHL gang would get on a roll, you asked the group one time:
"Is what we are doing really gambling?"...
And it made me think of an old cliche, the one in "team building" sessions where the leader will say, "Our success equals the sum of all the parts" or the similar one that goes, "the whole is often greater than the sum of its parts"...
Simple but true...
When a bunch of good cappers put their heads together in a positive way, share good information, and the goal of everyone is the success of the group as a whole rather than just your individual success, then you have something powerful there...
The problem with most (if not all) forums is that most people just want attention for themselves, so it's rare to see the team concept at work...But with that said, there are some smart lurkers out there who know who to tail in every sport because they do their homework on all the cappers and find the few that win at the various sports based on the capper's ability to display their knowledge...So if you don't want to handicap, but you do want to coat-tail, again, do your homework and it should pay off...
And even at ThinkDog, the team concept really only worked with the NHL because every capper you had there was on fairly equal ground with everyone else...There was no dominant NHL capper that stood out... Everyone was solid in that sport...So those discussions flowed really well, there was great give and take, and the winners flowed like beer down a thirsty alcoholic's throat...
But unfortunately, it wasn't the same for the other sports as I had nothing to add (or even give) for college hoops or foots and there was too much disparity in the talent levels of the cappers for every other sport, so the individualism was more prevalent...Wasn't much give and take...
Anyway...
