steroids i think could have been apart of it. some people could have way different reactions to it coupled with problems in life.

to think though that he went home on Saturday from Texas in a complete rage, just dropping all the wrestling commitments he had never missed for 10+ years or whatever...he probably had every intention to kill his wife. Messed up.

this is hard to imagine for me, ive followed his career for many years....

only thing that i can think of, that is close, is OJ and that isnt close to this, other than a known athlete.......

Bertil Fox, i believe was hanged in england some years back for murder...

but double/murder suicide by a well known athlete, unheard of........

Last nights show will come under some heavy scrutiny........

it sure will and you and I both know Vinny Mac wanted to pay tribute to Benoit already knowing he had done something bad. He will say that speculation was not enough to cancel the tribute and in a way he is right...

i think this may really bite Vince............. probably Chavo knew something bad had happened as well.....

you cant pay tribute to a murderer, i still find that hard to imagine.... would have been much easier to have pinned this on Woman.......

you're right on that but do you have any idea how many people tuned into RAW last night to see what was up? Had they just gone on with the show and not talked about Benoit, Vinny Mac wouldn't be too popular with WWE fans right now. Thats just the way he is...he snuck the tribute show in before they officially announced/confirmed what really happened.

The mainstream media will try to blame steroids for this whole thing, but that is a bunch of nonsense. This was very premeditated. Violence linked to steroid usage is usually very sudden and explosive. Even if he did kill his wife in a rage, the killing of his son was premeditated.

That fact that someone can smother their own child is beyond comprehension to me.

Benoit's History of Domestic Violence Exposed

Posted Jun 26th 2007 1:27PM by TMZ Staff

Before her grisly death, Chris Benoit's wife once told a judge that she was, "intimidated by threats of violence" from her 220 lb. husband.

In divorce papers filed in 2003, Nancy Benoit included a petition for protection from domestic abuse against Chris. In the papers, Nancy claimed that Benoit, "lost his temper and threatened to strike the petitioner and cause extensive damage to the home and personal belongings of the parties, including furniture." Nancy added that she was, "in reasonable fear for petitioner's own safety and that of the minor child."

Three months later, Nancy filed to have the divorce papers and the restraining order dismissed. A short time later, a judge granted her wish.

As TMZ first reported, law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe he strangled his wife on Saturday, smothered his son on Sunday and then hanged himself on Monday.

COMPLETELY MIND BOGGLING!

You know, last nights tribute was the first time I watched the show for an extended amount of time in a long time. So I'm sure it worked for other people too. Obviously McMahon is an opportunistic person, most rich people are, but running the tribute show like they did, I can't believe that he knew the circumstances involving their deaths. And some of the wrestlers with their memories COULDN'T have known, the way they talked about Benoit loving his kid more than anything.

Of course last night I was one of the posters saying Benoit COULDN'T have killed his child.

I don't know...fucked up situation....fucked up world.

You could actually tell in Chavo's tribute, even though he was crying, something was bothering him about the whole thing and he didn't really look all that sad, probably because he was the one who alerted WWE officials that Chris had done something bad. Even in Edge's tribute, he was crying too but he was more stunned than anything.

Even if some of the other wrestlers knew, some still wanted to pay tribute to the Chris Benoit they knew, not the maniac who did this crazy shit.

For some odd reason, I wasn't moved by any of the tributes last night like I was moved by the same tributes to Eddie Guerrero...they were a lot different and now we know why. All the wrestlers knew and im sure some refused to tape tributes as a result because some key guys were missing. Why would CM Punk get to do a tribute?

They probably should have just showed a replay of a somewhat recent pay per view that is on 24-7 that many don't have the means to watch or something along those lines until more information was available. Tough spot for Vince, but having a tribute when it was very possible he killed his family is not right.

Used to watch the show big time back in elementary school. I know pro wrestling is all an act, but this guy seemed REALLY angry all the time on the show. I never once saw him being calm and collective. Every match he had in the ring the guy had veins bursting and his face bright red. The guy just seemed way to over the top angry.

My reach guess would be that his wife pissed him off in an argument on Saturday, where he went on to strangle her. A day later on Sunday, he might have just discovered that his son couldn't live on without his mom, and that maybe he wanted to see her when Chris kept telling him she's not around? Like someone else said, he probably thought he was helping his son by ending his life where he knew he would be in a better place. After killing your wife and son, if you don't feel like absolute dogshit then you aren't a human being, so he just ended it for himself.

All you can do is pray for the best for all three in this fucked up case.

how is this helping vince. i cant believe that someone with his business sense would put this on knowing that there were murders involved. he doesnt get paid by the amount of viewers that watch for ONE NIGHT. this wasnt a ppv. obviously usa knows what the higher ratings were from. i will be very surprised if we find out that vince knew yhe whole story before he TAPED yesterdays show in the AFTERNOON. HE MAY BE AN ASSHOLE, BUT HE IS NOT STUPID, THIS IS GOING TO HURT WWE MORE THAN HELP.

Benoit: 'Instruments' Include Electrical Chord & Bag

06/26/2007

The AP reported that law enforcement officials close to the investigation have confirmed the current belief that Chris Benoit strangled wife Nancy with an electrical chord on Saturday, smothered his son with a bag on Sunday and then hung himself in his basement/weight room on Monday.
