The police have confirmed no GSW. I wonder if this was some kind of accident with carbon monoxide fumes in the home or something like that.

was actually the first thing i thought of.

basically because it is so hard for me to wrap the idea around my mind of someone killing a child. especially the parent of that child.

for someone to have thought initially that this was a storyline makes me wonder a little bit about that person... get real..

R.I.P Chris Benoit and family. This is tragic and astonishing news. What a shocker to hear it. Took awhile to figure out that it is in fact real.

A couple of guys, Sgt Slaughter most noticeable who did get fired for that in the mid 80's and a couple of guys were going to hold up WM2 to force Vince to agree to a union however word got back to Vince from Hogan and that quickly got stopped.

Wow so Hogan was a tattletale? I now remember the story I saw on WWE 24/7 when they do the round table on particular stars.

but it makes no sense whatsoever. he was scratched at the last minute from the PPV for personal reasons...something was up. Maybe someone was threatening to kill his family.

Wow - how are the McMahon's feeling right now...can you say regret? Just flippin garound the dial and saw Benoit in a daylight match and then a graphic popped up with him, wife, child. If anyone is seriously wondering if this is staged, don't think it. I haven't been following wwe lately but I did happen to seeRAW when Hart died a few years back and last year Eddie Guerrero. Benoit cried a bucket of tears in front of camera as he reminisced. No way does he involve himself with this type of theater. I'm confused though after reading he reported to fam emergency meaning they did not all go at once and guns were not involved. Quite the mystery it seems. Needless to say this is very sad and additional anguish for Vince for staging his death recently for the sake of theater.

According to sources, Benoit informed the WWE on Saturday that he had to fly home because of an illness in the family.

The WWE hadn't heard from him since that time, and placed a call to the Atlanta Police this morning to investigate the situation

When 3 people (especially the ages of the Benoit's) are found dead in a house, it will be investigated as a homicide, that's common.

Very tragic story nonetheless, just hope this doesn't end up like the Phil Hartman death

Haven't bet since football, will be more active here once it starts back up. Basically have just been playing a little poker here and there with all this online gambling legislation going on

News reports are quoting authorities as saying the death of Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy, and son Daniel, is being investigated as a homicide.

Furthermore, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution altered the paragraph of their article on the Benoit family deaths. The third paragraph of the article originally read:

"Officials would not say how the family died, other than to say they weren't shot to death."

The third paragraph of the article has been changed to read:

"Officials were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide."

Furthermore, the lieutenant on the case, Lt. Tommy Pope, said the three were actually found dead at their home at around 2:30 p.m., not 4:00 p.m. like originally reported by the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. The lieutenant said results of autopsies were expected Tuesday.
