He was the kinda guy that would fuck you due to his addiction.

Guy's like him will bet into a bad line, slow pay and eventually stiff.

Notice he was always trying to get side action bets vs other posters.

Sad to say guy's like him are 12 for ten cents, just ask any bookmaker.

Still owes me 500 bucks from last year's Celtics bet...have contacted him a few times but to no avail....what gets me was him ripping stiffs and then turns around and doesn't have the decency to contact me....

Sorry to hear that VD... What was the bet? Just curious, because
I know you paid your Celtics bet with me last year.
(Sorry to remind you).

Am I the only one that sees the irony? An Ebay scammer pointing
out an mp3 pirate scammer?

He funniest thread of all-time HAD to be when he was telling posters how he would go to the public library and rent CD's so he could increase his MP3 library. He claimed to have 50,000 songs. Of course why anyone would need more than 500 or so omn the MP3 player is beyond me.

But he said that ANYONE who wanted his collection of music, that he would sell it to them for only $50 at betjamaica I believe. You send him your IPOD and he will put all of his songs on your IPOD for only $50, only 5000 or whatever it was.

Now how illegal would that be?? Not only is Van Halen not making money off of their songs, BUT BROCK LANDERS is making money off of their music!!!

That was a classic. Can someone find that thread?? I am going to look, but i am not real adept at finding things

I found the thread, somehow i thought that this thread was like 2 years old, but it wasnt. Maybe he talked about going to the library to get CD's for free the year before that

I warned this arrogant prick a couple of times about the evils of buying worthless pts and wagering on minus-ev moneylines. The sad thing, is he may be through begging for help from his enabling family, but he hasn't hit rock bottom yet. March Madness baby!

sharp post

You saw the writing on the wall. He loved playing money lines.

Glad he has a family that is willing to help him out when he needs it most. Hope things work out for him. Even though he came across as an incredibly arrogant prick, I never wish for this kind of shit to happen to someone. I have a friend that went through a similar sounding situation and his family let him crash and burn even when they had the money to bail him out.

Gambling can be just as destructive as drugs, alcohol, etc. and stories like this prove it.

Of course it could be worse, dude could eat a bullet or something fucked like that. We don't know the exact situation so who is to say how bad it could get. Either way it sounds like his life needs to be turned around somehow.

Ha ha, if anyone deserved it it is that guy, I forgot all about the WU/Hardware thread. One down PO69 to go.

Well said sir, well said.

I wonder if the poor girl at Ace Hardware (who may have had to pay back part or all of that $1000) thinks about this tool.

She processed a Western Union for him and forgot to ask for the money, he didnt think it prudent to mention it to her. In essence he stole $1000 from Ace and probably cost a young girl her job.

The problem is that his family DID bail him out on numerous occasions. Trust me, he would have said anything to his father to get out of this trap. Sure brock has been humbled, but he will get tired of that second job pretty soon and will try to make some "easy" money to get out of debt. I would wager a $100 to a penny that this saga isn't over yet! Sad.

wow - that Western union thing is not cool. That girl probably did lose her job for that - what goes around comes around.

As much as I have lost and been in bad spots - I wouldnt do something like that. I once had a teller bet 3 100 win bets when I just wanted 1 $100 win bet as I was walking away I looked at the ticket and then went back. I know if I beat her for the $200 she would have had to pay it herself and/or lose her job. Hard enough to win at gambling without the negative moves/karma.

There is NO SUCH THING AS A GAMBLING PROBLEM...just a losing problem..if I guy makes 100 bets and wins 80% of them the word gambling problem never will surface...He will be a hero to all..if he goes 10-90 he has a gambling problem..

Trouble is most of us expect to go on the greatest winning streek of our lives with out next series of bets..this seldom happens..and the scenario repeats itself day after day after day all across this world we live in

Brock had become a cocky "handicapping virtuoso" at SBR, churning out an endless string of public faves ("rubberband plays" as he called them, cause one had to use a rubber band to hold all that pure cash profit that these plays would generate) and belittling guys who dared bet the other side. He would even make fun of $50 bettors, flashing his multi-dime plays around.

If I were a betting man - wait, I am - I'd say that precisely 0% of his bankroll was his own money. See the classic prosper.com thread as evidence.

Doesn't take a genius to realize that he was overbetting by a lot - he was probably wiped out by a mild downswing, never realizing that his mad handicapping skills were little more than positive variance.

RIP Brock, you friendly sociopath.
