Lolz at these fucking refs. One wonders if they follow the prior games. Same goes for announcers.
For example, a tennis announcer in one of the recent slams (makes over 6 figures for his work) said that player 'X' has been serving great and was not broken in his last match. I thought maybe a worm had crawled through his ear hole and worked it's way into his brain, and so perhaps there was a short-circuit. I disregarded the comment. Lo and behold, throughout the match he says it a few more times. And, o/c, that player was broken (I believe) 3 times in his last match.
Now, if you are announcer, would you not simply check the stat sheet from the prior match before broadcasting to an audience of millions so you don't appear to be a fool? Nope.
Same goes for the ref. Wouldn't the ref know in the prior game that a fucking fake penalty was called in the waning seconds of a game in Extra Time that absolutely destroyed the game. So you'd think they'd be on high alert to not call a fake penalty. "Hey guys, here's the memo. This is what happened in the last game. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT! call a penalty in the last seconds unless it's blatant."
Nope.
These events generate hundreds of millions in revenue and a fucking 10-year old could see the obvious retardation in the management of such events.
No offense to the many people working hard to put on a great event, but fix the fucking obvious. Fuckign ridiculous.
