OTTAWA, Ontario – “First ten minutes and we get a fucking goal!”
abby%20wambach1-thumb-427x512-2013.jpg

In a completely Politically Incorrect manner (and thus indescribably great manner) Abby Wambach screamed "First ten minutes and we get a fucking goal!" at the top of her lungs at her teammates within the team huddle just before the start of the second half.

Caught candidly loud and clear by FIFA’s world-feed camera, announcers scrambled out stunned apologizes to the viewing audience for Abby's foul mouthed and very unladylike motivational yell.

Whats makes this indecent incident especially humurous is the timing.

Abby had only just gotten herself out of being in deep doo-doo with FIFA the night before the match over comments she made about the officiating that led to Rapinoe and Hoiday's Yellow Card suspensions.

enhanced-buzz-13154-1435072502-22.jpg

"I don't know if they were yellows, it seemed like she (the referee) was purposefully giving those yellows to maybe players that she knew were sitting on yellows. I don't know if that was just a psychological thing, who knows. Who knows?"

The comments concerning French referee Stephanie Frappart might have merited discipline by FIFA, soccer's international governing body. Canadian striker Christine Sinclair made comments about the officiating following her team's loss to the United States at the London Olympics, and she was later suspended for four matches for unsportsmanlike behavior.

Wambach apologized the next day, calling it wrong to suggest what the official was thinking.

"I'm not in the referee's head, and that's something I definitely take ownership of and apologize for," she said.

FIFA said in a statement Thursday night that the apology factored into the decision to just issue a Stern Warning rather than suspension.

angry-old-man1.jpg

"The chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee took into consideration all the circumstances of the case, including the fact that Abby Wambach took full ownership and apologized for her comments in a timely manner," the statement said.

Grumpy-old-man-1.jpg
FIFA said it informed Wambach of the decision earlier in the day. The warning cited article 57 of FIFA's disciplinary code, which concerns sportsmanlike conduct.

6 minutes after Abby bellowed her profane demand for a goal at her teammates, Carli Lloyd delivered that fucking goal.

If we can get the Germany that France got we're good. But the match goes 1-0 USA and you lose your bet. Just like with NFL (or even moreso most American League Baseball teams) in regards to the phenomenon bettors know all too well: A Team looks so great one game then the next, when you bet them based on how great they looked, they get owned, play like crap look like a totally different team lose SU & ATS (or RunLine) so naturally you fade them the next game then they play great so you lose again and then you just swear to never bet on or against them ever again. These Women's Soccer teams do like that.

So I guess you think we'll get the good German team. I guess thats the team we're due to get. Thank God we didn't have to face the French team that Germany got.

USA has not allowed a goal in 423 minutes. And I don't mean the last goal they gave up was 424 minutes ago but 423 minutes of playing time...since that goal they conceded to Australia in the 1st half of the 1st game of this tourney.

How do you figure The Germans are gonna score on this defense?

The German goalkeeper is a Monster. I played a Soccer OVer once. Over 2.5 just like the one you're talking about.

The game ended 0-0.

I was traumatized.

I may never play another Soccer Over again. I certainly wouldn't play one here.

There is no way to Handicap this game. We don't know what Germany we are gonna get.

Look at Past Matchups, Shots/Shots on Goal comparison whatever none of it matters, total waste of time cuz we don't know what Germany we're gonna get + Germany's #'s are totally skewed by their 10-0 game vs. Ivory Coast.

I challenge anyone to give me solid reasoning upon which to believe a bet on Germany is where the Value is after that match vs. France.

They shouldn't even be playing in this game, people say "Luck of the Irish" the hell with that Germany last night put that to shame as if they had 23 Horseshoes up their collective 23 asses.

I'll be covering my regular "exotics" but totally on our Girls....I ain't looked at the numbers yet, +$$$ are so nice on these first 3 anyways it hardly is gonna make a difference if I take my time....

Halftime Draw/FullTime USA Win
Germany 0/USA 1
Halftime Draw/FullTime Draw

USA -1.5
USA ML

and the Under 2.5

and this ain't me "betting with my heart" this is me saying theres no way to Handicap this game, no sound logic upon which to even begin to search for the Value let alone find it so %#@% it I'm just gonna bet on the Homegirls.

Ficken Deutschland.

All or Nothing Baby.

woops meant USA -.5 not -1.5 lol in the above ^^^

I've totally no clue how that "1" even got in there.

Maybe its Divine Intervention. maybe its a sign from God that I should bet USA -1.5.

That'd be a nice +number I reckon. And a call I could come in here and brag about.

Well....less so cuz of this post.

There are hidden clues on how to bet USA game in the post above ^^^^^.

Also a clue on how to bet the British Girls game today.

The challenge is to not miss the trees for the forest, as they say.

Theres more ways, than the clues reveal, to bet these games and win.

I think they will be fine .......Best lookin soccer team in the world!!!!

I think we all know that we are not gonna get the less rugged Germany that France got and somehow managed to lose to.

This is gonna be a very hard game for Our Girls. Its gonna take all that they have to advance.

maxresdefault.jpg

As I mentioned in prior posts, I feel theres no even remotely "intelligent" way to Handicap this game to root out a value play on aside. To me value exists in the plays I cited before (and these at such large +$$$ that just one cash amongst them could cover the cost of all of them...need to hit just one to come out on the + side overall):

Halftime (HT) Draw, HT/FullTime Draw, HT Draw/FT USA Win (for the sheer Drama, if no thing else lol) and USA 1/Germany1....USA 1/Germany 0......

USA + 1.5 too of course but I ain't even looked at that cuz I know I'm just gonna be pissed off at how expensive it is.

Since theres no point in doing a traditional "writeup" on this match and I personally, to choose a side in this one, flipped a coin to solve that challenge Heads Play on USA Tails fade Germany which came up Heads so I'm on USA (Thank God...that was a stressfilled coinf-flip if ever there was one) so extratime and shootouts included

Tue 6/30 14 Germany Women advance -145
7:00PM 15 USA Women advance +125

it is.

image.jpg

I may post writeups in later posts prior to Tuesday, if I find any on other sites that sound interesting but for now heres my own:

There was a time when we weren't so hardened to the world, when this place was different than it is now, much less tough, less rugged. More Innocent and way less filled with peril. Many of you can remember if you try to a time not that long ago when we could never have even dreamed of being as cynical and numb as we are.

Back then, regrdless of how we felt about Women's Soccer itself, we would have welcomed a chance to learn about a group of Young American Women representing our country, some as young as just 22 years old, women that are no different from our own Daughters & Wives and Mothers (when they were young) representing our Nation, USA, battling for the top prize...a World Championship against the toughest teams on Earth...to bring the Cup home to USA.

I'm going to ask you to rise above. To shuffle off the cyncisim many of us have (naturally) been driven to by this hardass planet.

I'm gonna ask you to invest invest a really small amount of time in learning these girl's stories.

In discovering who they are.

I sincerely hope you're awake enough and still alive enough to you do this cuz if you do the reward will be immense. Unmeasurable, "invisible" to the neaked eye but massive. I can't explain in words "why" because the construct transcends the "physical" thus it is not describable by words...it'd be like trying to describe the Colors Red White and Blue to a lifelong blind person.

You should just trust me on this one.

If you will.....Get your bets in before doing this.

Go with your" gut". Since thers no point in trying to handicap this match to be all "smart" and try to locate +ev on a side you have free'd up time. If you'll trust me and invest that time in allowing Our Girls to tell you who they are along the way you'll discover how truly beautiful they actually are and that way way WAY past "just skin deep", theres an excellent chance you'll be really glad you invested the time in meeting them.

I promise.

What have you got to lose?

This will take well under an hour, to discover who each of our 23 Girls are, where they came from, how they got to where they are.

Each member of Team USA has made a short video introducing themselves to us. This is our team:

USA's at PK +110 that's my bet for tomorrow. Should be a very good game.

Doing that, you might wanna consider also for just "petty cash" (at these "interesting" +numbers)

90 minutes plus stoppage time only
14052 USA W 1 / Germany W 0 +700

as well....Though assuming you got

extratime and shootouts included
Tue 6/30 14 Germany Women advance -130
7:00PM 15 USA Women advance +110

Then maybe you're thinking DRAW at the end of 90 + stoppage so 14055 USA W 1 / Germany W 1 +520
might suit you better or 14040 USA W 0 / Germany W 0 +700

In case you have any strong "sense" of what the score might be. Obviously if USA can win (in Reg+Stoppage time) that'll likely be 1-0.

(The 1-1 or 0-0 calls if you feel a DRAW is worth investing in....)

These plays don't require a large investment to be very interesting. 0-0 call can end quickly of course and best case scenario it doesn't end but then its excruciating everytime either team gets near goal so...there might be a "hidden cost" lol....that some would very understandably consider too high. These can be stress-filled plays even without a lot invested. Its an "Ego" thing I guess...we want to be right.

Soccer "Sharps" may feel to be right one must be on Germany here, they may (finally) show up in this thread postgame telling us that but whatever...I played

14052 USA W 1 / Germany W 0 for 1/2*
14055
USA W 1 / Germany W 1 for 1/3*
14040 USA W 0 / Germany W 0 for 1/3*
on USA to advance (with you) for 1*
14022 Draw HT / USA W FT + for 1/3*

14067
USA W 2 / Germany W 1 is +1100.....just mentioning cuz its there lol.

I guess I can't mess with that though cuz its crazy, certainly feels crazier than +1100 + I like the UN 2.5 (-160) for parlay fodder with Argentina -1/2ball (Copa America) and Japan -1/2ball (Womens), likely adding a baseball game too which will sink me on that lol.

Coming off the very hard France game...Germany is very very scary here.

Our Girls can do this though.

Germany takes it in reg time. Like the US very much and Germany has not won against the US the last 5 times they played, but Germ is the fav. Something does not look right and that's why I believe Germany takes it by 1 or 2.

They tied 3-3 the last time they played, don't know where you saw that USA won L5 but this stage is so big with so much at stake prior matchups, how much can they mean anyways? + with the lineup changes we saw vs. China may see very different squads on the pitch then those that faced one another in those previous battles.

It seems very much like we should HOPE we see the lineup thats gonn amake us able to push the ball up the field, press Germany rather than letting them control possession time, which they may very well accomplish regardless of what we do...I said I'd post interesting writeup(s) if I found any. IBTimes has had good input on prior US Mathups and do again on this one and they address this subject of USA Lineup crossroads we've arrived at...

...to say it will be "interesting" to see what Coach Jill Ellis will do is a big understatement :

(from ibtimes http://www.ibtimes.com/usa-vs-germa...ens-world-cup-2015-semifinal-1988191?rel=rel1) Although the Americans have been able to move through the tournament while not at their best, it is likely to take a performance on another level to what has been seen so far in order to get past the 2003 and 2007 champions. The good news for coach Jill Ellis is that her team is coming off the back of its best display so far.

While the score line read just 1-0 in favor of the U.S. against old foe China on Friday and the goal came off a rudimentary long ball into the box, there was plenty to encourage. And much of what was good about the performance came from the changes Ellis made to her lineup.

The former U.S. youth teams coach has come in for plenty of criticism so far in Canada as her team lacked fluidity going forward and relied on a hugely impressive defensive showing through the early rounds of the competition.

But against China it started to come together.

With the veteran physical presence of Abby Wambach taken out of the team and the industry of Amy Rodriguez put in, the U.S. played with far more energy and flow. Also helping was the presence of Morgan Brian, in for the suspended Lauren Holiday, to provide a more natural holder in midfield, while Kelley O’Hara offered width and pace on the right in place of the other suspended U.S. player, Megan Rapinoe.

But that improvement also provides Ellis with a conundrum -- one that will determine whether both she and her team are viewed as a success -- to what degree does she now change her lineup?

It is a simple decision to bring Rapinoe back into the first XI, with the midfielder having been the team’s most dangerous creative player by some distance so far. Yet whether she returns in play of O’Hara or Tobin Heath, who had her most effective game of the World Cup last time out, is more in doubt. Causing an even bigger headache will be whether Holiday returns. Although clearly in the first XI based on talent, it has been clear that the partnership between her and Carli Lloyd, with both more comfortable going forward, requires a huge amount of compromise that hasn’t so far paid dividends. Against a team of the quality of Germany, especially its ability to find space and pass through midfield, Holiday’s and Lloyd’s lack of defensive acumen could be exposed.

And then there is the matter of Wambach. Playing in her final World Cup and desperate to lift the trophy for the first time, Wambach started three of the first four games, but lacked her usual decisiveness in front of goal. At the same time her presence also resulted in the rest of the team relying on her ability to win headers and hold up long balls forward. Rodriguez may not be anywhere close to the finisher and big-game player of Wambach, but her constant running and pressing set the tone for the U.S. performance against China.

Goal-scoring has not come easy for the U.S. in this tournament, something which cannot be said for its next opponent. Germany has scored 20 goals so far, more than twice the number of the U.S., which included a 10-0 win over Ivory Coast. But in its last match, Germany had to rely on its mental resolve to squeeze through.

In the most eagerly awaited match of the World Cup to date, Germany was outplayed by 3rd-ranked France for much of the contest and was behind entering the final seven minutes. Yet a late penalty converted by the tournament’s top scorer Celia Sasic and then some shootout heroics from goalkeeper Nadine Angerer got Germany to the semifinals.
Montreal’s Olympic Stadium will now be the setting for a clash between two titans of the women’s game and the only two-time champions in Women’s World Cup history. And whoever prevails will likely start as favorites against either Japan or England when the trophy will be on the line in Sunday’s final.

Prediction: The strength of both defenses means there is a very good chance that it will be a tightly fought encounter, even though their last meeting, in April 2013, ended in a 3-3 tie. But on the evidence of this tournament, it is Germany that have the advantage. In contrast to most of the Americans’ opponents, Silvia Neid’s team not only has a high level of technical skill, but the physical components to handle the traditional strengths of the U.S. And providing Germany recovers from its grueling encounter with France, it should just edge through to the final.

Predicted score: Germany over USA, 1-0

NICE # on that 1st Half Draw. :toast: You ever complain here about living in Canada and thus having access to Non-US facing books, you'll get no sympathy. Best I saw for anything resembling that was +105 (HT DRAW) which is now down to a miserable -105.

I really think thats got a great chance.

Its an integral part of what I need to come out best in this one. I believe that USA will win the match but I think to do so they must not allow Germany to score 2 Goals so therefore I believe that Germany will not score 2 goals. Basically the corner I've painted myself into, purposely cuz its how I see the game playing out...if US is to win....I need HT DRAW, USA score in 2nd Half (1 Goal) for USA 1-0 win.

1-1 Draw + USA Win after reg+stoppage time would work also for me but not as well as HT DRAW + 1-0 FT WIN so...prolly I'm very "-ev" on this one, swinging for the fence with only other possible outcomes a little dribbler single or complete fall on my ass strikeout whiff but oh well.

In truth were Germany to score 2 goals and sink me but USA managed to still be in the game, tying at 2-2 or even better than that I wouldn't mind that at all (if I have to go down) cuz that'd be among if not THE greatest games in World Cup Soccer History.

From http://fivethirtyeight.com who has provided some of the best insight on this tournament...since it's start. More details/rumination on the lineup situation for USA which may be, tonight, the "make or break" facet of this matchup...the decisions that Coach Jill Ellis makes in regards to starting lineup + substitutions...

It was the greatest day of my 10-year-old life. We had woken up early to paint our faces and finish decorating our signs before loading into the family van to drive an hour north on the I-405 from my grandma’s house to the Rose Bowl. I trailed a few steps behind my older sister and her friends as we entered the stadium, marveling at the American flag popsicle vendors and 90,000-plus people chanting, ‘U-S-A! U-S-A!’ It was the 1999 Women’s World Cup final, and To this day, I thought it would be the greatest Women’s World Cup game I’d ever witness. I was wrong.

Tonight’s semifinal match between the United States and Germany is the greatest Women’s World Cup game of all time, according to our Women’s Soccer Power Index, which gives this game an average WSPI (Womens Soccer Power Index..."power rankings") rating of 95.5. That’s the largest average WSPI of any two teams to ever play each other at a Women’s World Cup. By this measure, the 1999 final is only the eighth-greatest game of all time.

Either the U.S. or Germany — or both countries — has played in every one of the top 10 greatest Women’s World Cup games, and their 2003 World Cup semifinal encounter ranks third (Germany defeated the U.S. 3-0). Historically, when the U.S. and Germany have met at a World Cup, the winner has gone on to win the tournament. In both 1991 and 1999, the U.S. defeated Germany en route to its two championships, and in 2003, Germany routed the U.S. on its way to its first World Cup title. However, the two teams haven’t met at a World Cup in 12 years.

Germany is favored to win tonight’s game 57 percent to the Americans’ 43 percent, according to WSPI. As the Germans have advanced through the tournament, their chances of winning have risen to 43 percent, up 16 percentage points since the start of the World Cup.

These odds come after a convincing Round of 16 win over Sweden and a quarterfinal victory against France, two of the tournament’s top teams. The U.S. has had a much easier (and less dominant) route to this semifinal match. The U.S. did not win very convincingly in either its Round of 16 game against Colombia or its quarterfinal game against China, and its chances of winning the World Cup are up only 2 percentage points since the tournament began.

Much of the criticism surrounding the U.S. team has been about its inability to create chances in the final third, but on Friday night against China, the U.S. created 13 chances — more than in any other of its games this tournament. The team was playing without two starting midfielders — Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday, who were out because of accumulating yellow cards — and yet the team looked the sharpest it has all tournament, applying high pressure and winning the ball back immediately. The new players in the lineup provided fresh energy and offensive pressure; Amy Rodriguez made threatening runs forward and hustled all game, while Kelley O’Hara kept the width on the right side and got on the end of a few good crosses.

But the question remains against Germany: Who and how will the U.S. decide to play?

Germany has been dominant all tournament long — especially in the final third, where the Americans have struggled. It has created almost double the number of chances as the U.S. — 94 compared with 50 — and its cohesive offensive power has been difficult for teams to contain. The tournament’s leading goal-scorers are two of Germany’s attackers, Célia Šašić and Anja Mittag, who have scored more goals apiece (six and five, respectively) than all the U.S. forwards combined. Together with attacking midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsan (who is questionable for tonight’s game because of an ankle injury), Germany has the tournament’s most indomitable, powerful attack.

But that doesn’t mean it will be easy for the Germans to score on the U.S., whose defense has also been the best of any team we’ve seen — allowing just one goal, in its first game against Australia. The center-back duo of Julie Johnston and Becky Sauerbrunn has been an impenetrable force field, shutting down most teams’ attacking flow before it can even begin. But the U.S. hasn’t faced an attack as balanced as Germany’s, and the Americans will have to rely on the midfield to help close gaps between the seams.

The midfield provides the biggest question mark for both the U.S. and Germany, and it’s likely that whoever has the better midfield organization will control the game and create more offensive opportunities. It’s doubtful that the U.S. will try to match up with Germany’s 4-2-3-1 formation and play with three central midfielders, but much of its success against China came from designating Morgan Brian as a holding mid, allowing Carli Lloyd to get forward and score the game winner. Rapinoe will likely return to the left side. But head coach Jill Ellis has started five different players at right midfield, and that spot could go to any of them, including Tobin Heath, Christen Press or O’Hara.

Both teams will be playing to keep the dream of a third World Cup title alive, and it’s bound to be an epic battle. Maybe there won’t be 90,000 people in the stands but you can bet there will be a 26-year-old in the crowd feeling like she’s 10 again.
