Time to get this thread updated Ba'al. Norway and USA for me tomorrow.

Norway to advance? Or Norway +1.5?

Norway to advance only +105, Other options:

Norway -1/2 +186
10013 Norway W HT / Norway W FT +450
10022 Draw HT / Norway W FT +560

I prefer the Brits in this spot but without great conviction. Its why I let the thread go, Linesmakers have adjusted for the dampening effect the Turf is having on scoring. Solid 2 on the O/U in this ENG/NOR matchup is very demoralizing to me, line should be O/U/ 2.5 and would be were the books not tired of losing UNDER bets. Solid 2 is way too harsh.

Except for France -1.5 over South Korea, stuff I believed in these last games was expensive or just didn't seem to have value (such as this O/U/ 2 here, Asian handicap UN 2.2.5 -139 isn't exactly inspiring either).....compared to US Open Matchups & other Golf props, this past weekend.

England looked better in their last game putting up 2 goals then gave up a late one to Columbia to win 2-1 and torch the under. All I've played thus far on this match is

10028 Draw HT / England W FT +530
and the same with USA 11022 Draw HT / USA W FT +340 with the intent to have an eye on the UNDER there which mercifully is offered at a Solid 3 goals (cuz USA has shown the ability to score on this Columbia team in the past, only team to score 3 goals on them) UN 3 -138
Asian handicap UN 2.5, 3 +101 ya see what I mean?

They're squeezing me.

USA-2 on this Green Carpet, scary. On Natural Grass I'd be near to even liking the play, France & Germany did it (covered -2 lines) vs. #8 ranked South Korea and #5 ranked Sweden respectively though, Columbia is ranked 28th lol so from that perspective -2 here looks cashable GL :toast:

Norway Love well founded, the looks of that 1st half domination. 0-0 at half though. I Jumped onboard with Norway +200 2nd Half, Draw = Loss. 102 Norway W (World Cup) for Game +200 vs England W (World Cup)

Netherlands have any shot tonight ?

Probably not, at the least it'd be a real risky play. Comparable to betting Jaguars SU vs. Seahawks last year if Jacksonville had a better defense. There is no reason that I can find to arrive at a firm belief that The Dutch will be able to penetrate a very competent Japan defense and score in this game.

The only argument for Netherlands at +425 on the MoneyLine (and that number probably low in representing how big an upset this would be, +550 or better would arguably be more accurate) might be that this is gonna be a very physical game, should be very low scoring, The Dutch find a way to hang around in their matches and have excellent goaltending so in a match that could very well wind up 1-0 that one goal could wind up on The Netherlands side due to Japan making too many fouls including possibly a real bad one resulting in Penalty Kick.

Is this likely? No. We've seen some very bad calls though, one more here resulting in a Penalty Kick could see The Dutch scoring but theres no evidence to think thats gonna happen otherwise, through head to head play on the pitch.

Personally I think if one wants to shoot for a longshot payout similar to that +425 on a very unlikely Netherlands SU Win there is much better value in one or more of the following :

(90 minutes plus stoppage time only)
12022 Draw HT / Japan W FT +455
12025 Draw HT / Draw FT +370
12052 Japan W 1 / Netherlands W 0 +435

2064 Japan W 2 / Netherlands W 0 +670

and particularly the 1st, 3rd and 4th of those above. Japan are defending World Cup Champs, have allowed just 8 shots on goal thru 3 games, Netherlands has just two goals on 11 shots on goal and lost to China which does not bode well here for them vs. a Japan team that is thought to be a whole lot better than China by everyone except for China.

I went with
12022 Draw HT / Japan W FT +455
12052 Japan W 1 / Netherlands W 0 +435

and
2064 Japan W 2 / Netherlands W 0 +670

for just 1/2 Unit each cuz these are Longshot plays, calling exact score and/or how the game plays out is hard, I got super lucky hitting the last 2 of these I played and especially the USA/Columbia one. For that luck to continue is unlikely here so just small plays and I do fear Japan, due to their physical play and how if they do go scoreless deep into this game they are just gonna get more crazy, making a stupid penalty in the box resulting in Penalty Kick for The Dutch or yet another bad call resulting in that and if Dutch score these plays are doomed so very conservative dealings between me and this game.

I do like Japan -1/2 as well at -129 but not apparently enough to have yet made a play on that but I do have severe temptation to bump up to One Unit total on 2064 Japan W 2 / Netherlands W 0 +670.

looking ahead to the USA game vs. China With Holiday and Rapinoe Out, what are the USA chances ??

Rapinoe has been involved in 4 of the 5 goals USA has scored this tournament (scoring 2 of those herself) and Holiday...to call her "an important part of the midfield" would be an understatement as she has played every minute of action since the tournament began so there is definite cause for concern vs. a China team that has looked to be competent and tough thus far.

I side however with the minority (of those who have an opinion) on this and say we will be fine instead of those who say the sky is falling.

The sky may very well be falling though but it may not be falling because the USA team we've seen thus far has lacked chemistry and not shown the creativity expected and that their talent should make possible so Coach Ellis who prior to this has seemed to be of the philosophy "if it ain't broke don't fix it" i.e. reluctant to mess with an undefeated team being forced to do that could lead to a newly invigorated squad.

Tobin Heath will likely be switched to the left flank to cover for Rapinoe, Christen Press will take Tobin's place on the right and versatile and very talented 22-year old Morgan Brian might wind up in center which would be cool and a very potentially positive thing cuz I expect she'll play less tight, far less burdened by pressure and more with the reckless abandon & enthusiasm and creativity of youth than the vets she and Christen are replacing.

The vast majority of Gamblers though will be like: "Oh HELL NO. Rapinioe & Holiday out as result of (arguably) bogus yellow Cards? I'm lookin' seriously at China here." and I can't blame them for that because the team we field we can't know of the chemistry will be improved, if the creativity that has been lacking thus far will become present.

The result will be interesting...for better or worse. Its gonna be...I don't know if "exciting" is the right word...if the match vs. China goes well "exciting" would be applicable I suppose but of it doesn't prolly another word would be more fitting.

Predicted score: USA over China, 1-0

Thats far from Certain but what is are these 3 things:

1). The loss of the 2 important mid-fielders Rapinoe and Holiday is scary vs. a hungry and thus far competent looking Chinese squad who will want to defeat the powerhouse USA squad more than they've wanted anything in their Soccer lives.

This will be the biggest game of these Chinese Girl's competitive Soccer Lives by far...to this point.

Its tough to imagine any team in any sport at any time that wanted Victory more than these Chinese Girls will want Victory here.

Partly cuz of.....

2.) Revenge. Further motivating the China Women's team (if thats possible lol...to motivate them more) will be revenge.

The United States women’s soccer team, if it is to lift the World Cup for the first time since 1999, will have to go through China, the country it defeated in the final at the Rose Bowl 16 years ago.....to win the World Cup.

3.) Alex will need to bring it. USAToday says it pretty well: "USA's saving grace could very well be the speed, strength, and finishing of Alex Morgan. After limited playing time in the first two matches of the tournament, Morgan has started and played significant time, scoring her first goal of the tournament against Colombia. The U.S.’s hopes of advancing past China, and anyone else, lie with Morgan."

It could all come down to Alex.
