You make a lot of generalizations in this post. If the police nationwide would stop making generalizations about blacks, that would go a long way to solve this problem they take a knee over.

Police make "generalizations" about blacks?

That's pretty damn funny.

What are these generalizations police are making? Are you aware that the FBI says police have an 18.5 greater chance of being killed by a black male than a white male

What is the problem between police and African Americans they are protesting?

Not it sure it’s police related and I would agree with the comments surrounding misguided notions of blacks being killed by police at some alarming rate. However, there is substantial data available outlining blacks are significantly more likely to be detained than whites, of those detained of all races blacks have significantly higher arrest rates, of those arrested blacks recieve significantly higher bail amounts, of those arrested blacks have higher conviction rates, of those convicted blacks recieve significantly longer sentences and of those convicted blacks recieve early release at significantly lower rates. That data is adjusted for similar criminal records, similar arrest areas and times, etc.

I’m not sure what the cause of this is, as there are many layers to this. It may be more socio-economical than racial. Things like lacking the funds for adequate representation, likelihood to plea, lacking a family support structure and so on. You’ll see similar disparities in educational and employment statistics, but I believe in all areas the gap has been closing compared to years ago.

Its not as easy as get a job, stay out of trouble, etc as many have suggested in these various threads. As someone who grew up poor in a very bad neighborhood it can be very difficult for a young, stupid kid to take the high road and walk away from quick easy money and all the (falsely) perceived benefits that come along with it. Having something you never had, having a feeling of power, respect, however misguided, the women, the lifestyle and instead attempt to get a job for minimum wage. I knew young men of all colors who were able to make that choice, stronger men than I, and yet they still were stuck in consistent shithole of the city and everything that comes along with it. The police who have to deal with that mess day in and day out don’t recieve enough credit because it’s a constant state of shit. Fortunately, we had parents who recognized how fast the area was deteriorating and busted their ass to get us out, almost certainly saving our lives. Even then the vicious cycle continued, with two parents working seven days a week, the inmates were left to run the asylum. I would imagine that struggle and attempt to pull ones family out of it would be virtually impossible in a one parent environment. I do find it somewhat hilarious to see those that have lived privileged lives speak about the ease of escaping poverty and how simple it is to lift one’s family from it. All that being said, I find the anthem protests absurd and the chosen platform completely misguided.

A 20 year old black guy in a 2000 Dodge minivan doesn't use a turn signal.

A 60 year old white woman in a 2017 Mercedes doesn't use a turn signal.

Who gets pulled over?

Whichever one the police believe most likely to be a criminal.

They probably both get pulled over depending on the cop.

The question is which one acts accordingly after they get sopped.

Of course, I'm American. It's amazing what an avatar can do to influence people's thinking.

In my life, I have voted for president in order: Ross Perot, Ralph Nader, Ralph Nader, John Kerry, Barack Obama, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

My presidential votes usually come down to the lesser of two evils, and in 2016 I was a one issue voter: the supreme court nominee selection. Hillary would have been more likely to a point a justice who supported overturning Citizens United and protecting a woman's right to choose.

I believe both major parties are essentially the same. I think the biggest threat to our government is the gerrymandering of congressional districts. I also think we need to get the lobbyist money out of the system somehow. Until we do those two things, our system of government is fucked.

hope this helps

You're a male and the most important issue for you is "a woman's right to choose"????

This is a trick question. No one gets pulled over for not using a turn signal. No one uses a turn signal these days. Back on topic. Your example should say young black man uses his turn signal and old white woman does not use her turn signal. Who gets pulled over? i live in the real world, i know who gets pulled over.

who's more likely to have committed a crime?

I've been pulled over for "not making a complete stop at a stop sign", almost came to a complete stop in a rural area with nobody else around save for the police officer that was hiding

Maybe he was color blind.

I know this would make national news if it happened to a Michael Bennett who would call it racism and start lying about the events

pretty much

about 5 years ago i was stopped less than 1.5 mile from my house (rural hood, back street that leads to my development) for "failure to make a complete stop" which was 100% bullshit because i stopped, looked left, saw the cop waiting there, then got pulled over about 100 yards later. He calls for backup and it's about 2:30pm...I'm driving back from Giant Eagle with my wife...two 40 something white folks. backup comes and one officer is at my window while his backup is looking through my back window and passenger side backseat window when i nicely ask WTF they are looking for.

He gives me a ticket and I call a cop buddy of mine who calls the local station. the local guy tells my buddy that they were on the lookout for a car similar to mine which, they said, had been spotted in that area of pittsburgh dealing drugs.

if same thing happens to Bennett he's crying racial profiling and police injustice while Rev Al is protesting the Crafton PD

i went to court, got the points dropped, but still owed some ridiculous amount of money ($140?) because the cop didn't want to admit he was wrong to pull me over...not to mention I probably gave him OT pay for showing up to court. But I paid it and went on my way....if, in fact, there was a similar car dealing drugs I am happy they would pull them over even if for no legal reason. in this case, they went through the charade and kept the ticket $$ but didn't hit my driving record

6. According to Riley, "Black crime rates were lower in the 1940s and 1950s, when black poverty was higher" and "racial discrimination was rampant and legal."

==============================================================================

So racist white cops are to blame for all this? Even when the offending officers ere black, they piss and moan screaming "cultural racism" - whatever the fuck THAT means.

The last two points are critical to understanding the decline of modern black culture because frankly it wasn't always this way.

Take music, for example - black cultural expression went from classic jazz to now modern hip hop which is a direct reflection of this dysfunctional ghetto culture.

"Kneeling" and pointing fingers at "dirty cops" is like blaming the dog for eating your homework.

I don't know but I do know there isn't statistical data that will tell us either.

Im thinking the black 20 year old is like about a million times more likely to get pulled over - I'm thinking the likelihood of the black 20 year old having drugs, an illegal gun or a warrant is like about 500 million times more likely than the 60 year old woman

The likelihood of any 20 year old doing dirt is higher than any 60 year old.

If a black person is driving badly, pull him over. If a white is driving badly, pull him over.

If you're pulling blacks over more than whites and finding less contraband on them then find another way to enforce the law. Just pulling someone over because other people the same skin color as them are fuckups isn't acceptable.
