You make a lot of generalizations in this post. If the police nationwide would stop making generalizations about blacks, that would go a long way to solve this problem they take a knee over.
What is the problem between police and African Americans they are protesting?
Not it sure it’s police related and I would agree with the comments surrounding misguided notions of blacks being killed by police at some alarming rate. However, there is substantial data available outlining blacks are significantly more likely to be detained than whites, of those detained of all races blacks have significantly higher arrest rates, of those arrested blacks recieve significantly higher bail amounts, of those arrested blacks have higher conviction rates, of those convicted blacks recieve significantly longer sentences and of those convicted blacks recieve early release at significantly lower rates. That data is adjusted for similar criminal records, similar arrest areas and times, etc.
I’m not sure what the cause of this is, as there are many layers to this. It may be more socio-economical than racial. Things like lacking the funds for adequate representation, likelihood to plea, lacking a family support structure and so on. You’ll see similar disparities in educational and employment statistics, but I believe in all areas the gap has been closing compared to years ago.
Its not as easy as get a job, stay out of trouble, etc as many have suggested in these various threads. As someone who grew up poor in a very bad neighborhood it can be very difficult for a young, stupid kid to take the high road and walk away from quick easy money and all the (falsely) perceived benefits that come along with it. Having something you never had, having a feeling of power, respect, however misguided, the women, the lifestyle and instead attempt to get a job for minimum wage. I knew young men of all colors who were able to make that choice, stronger men than I, and yet they still were stuck in consistent shithole of the city and everything that comes along with it. The police who have to deal with that mess day in and day out don’t recieve enough credit because it’s a constant state of shit. Fortunately, we had parents who recognized how fast the area was deteriorating and busted their ass to get us out, almost certainly saving our lives. Even then the vicious cycle continued, with two parents working seven days a week, the inmates were left to run the asylum. I would imagine that struggle and attempt to pull ones family out of it would be virtually impossible in a one parent environment. I do find it somewhat hilarious to see those that have lived privileged lives speak about the ease of escaping poverty and how simple it is to lift one’s family from it. All that being said, I find the anthem protests absurd and the chosen platform completely misguided.
Of course, I'm American. It's amazing what an avatar can do to influence people's thinking.
In my life, I have voted for president in order: Ross Perot, Ralph Nader, Ralph Nader, John Kerry, Barack Obama, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
My presidential votes usually come down to the lesser of two evils, and in 2016 I was a one issue voter: the supreme court nominee selection. Hillary would have been more likely to a point a justice who supported overturning Citizens United and protecting a woman's right to choose.
I believe both major parties are essentially the same. I think the biggest threat to our government is the gerrymandering of congressional districts. I also think we need to get the lobbyist money out of the system somehow. Until we do those two things, our system of government is fucked.
hope this helps
This is a trick question. No one gets pulled over for not using a turn signal. No one uses a turn signal these days. Back on topic. Your example should say young black man uses his turn signal and old white woman does not use her turn signal. Who gets pulled over? i live in the real world, i know who gets pulled over.A 20 year old black guy in a 2000 Dodge minivan doesn't use a turn signal.
A 60 year old white woman in a 2017 Mercedes doesn't use a turn signal.
Who gets pulled over?
any 20 year old black man driving a 17 year old minivan is up to some shit for sure. pull him overA 20 year old black guy in a 2000 Dodge minivan doesn't use a turn signal.

pretty muchwho's more likely to have committed a crime?
I've been pulled over for "not making a complete stop at a stop sign", almost came to a complete stop in a rural area with nobody else around save for the police officer that was hiding
Maybe he was color blind.
I know this would make national news if it happened to a Michael Bennett who would call it racism and start lying about the events

I don't know but I do know there isn't statistical data that will tell us either.
