Nothing about their music represents a rock band.. If your music is downshifted to elevators and grocery stores , its not rock music.. Numbers of people do alot of things.. Including listening to music. That doesn't disqualify it from being overrated.. To me their music sounds old and tired.. Never got it .. To each his own.. That's my opinion..

Yep, it is your opinion. And based on record sales, I'm guessing they really don't care.

umm ok, I wasn't trying to refute it. Just saying it was a weird/interesting tidbit to me that Hotel California wasn't on the album that sold the most. And also that it was a greatest hits album.

edit: I guess it is no longer the highest selling album anymore, Thriller is

If your music can't stand the test of time ? .... ...alot of supposedly great bands , the music just fades with time because its old and tired..I never considered the Eagles great by any stretch...

So you start a thread asking why the Eagles concert is being performed on ESPN last night, and then you claim you're not talking about ratings during Covid19? Uh, actually yes you are. And I gave you an answer as to why. The ratings pre-covid19 we're not close to being the worst in the last 40 years, so you can stop with that also. Currently, which is what we're talking about, they are using alternate programming because their ratings are in the toilet. I can't make it any clearer for you. Have a nice day. I'm done with this.

Actually smart guy, I made no mention of ratings anywhere did I? Who mentioned ratings in this thread first? You did guy not me.

I started this thread because the Entertainment Sports Network aired a rock concert last night and I wanted to know why. You made the correlation it was about ratings not me or anyone else.

You should be done with this because you look like an idiot.

I actually see no problem with you starting this thread. I too find that it was weird as i NEVER remember seeing a concert on ESPN. And if they did, i wouldnt imagine a bunch of old white guys.

Did ESPN even advertise this concert?

I know in this forum people talked about the ESPY'S low ratings but i never even knew it was on as 1) its usually on during the mlb all star break and 2) i havent watched many espn commercials (i will watch programming and once a commercial hits, i change the channel)

I have no problem with him starting the thread either. But he shouldn't start a thread and then when someone explains to him it's because their ratings are down and people are tired of watching sports replays (duh), start arguing about the answer. If he's got an issue with someone gIving a rational reply to his question, or thinks he knows the answer...don't ask the question then. Not everything is some partisan issue with the red team/blue team bullshit.

Let's see. One of the most iconic bands in the last 50 years versus a rerun of some baseball game. Wow, sounds like a tough choice. Thanks for letting me know. Finally something decent to watch.

Your very first response in my thread had nothing to do with ratings. You didn't explain anything. You said the Eagles live in concert would be better than a rerun of a baseball game.

Try again junior. You're all over the place.

Also, thought you were done with this thread?

Compare ESPN to Tucker Carlson's show on Fox News. Besides sports vs. news being obvious, the two shows couldn't be more opposite on how they talk about American narratives.

And guess what? ESPN is tanking and Tucker's show has the highest rated show in cable news history. And furthermore, he's drawing in the younger audience too.

Bottom line, Americans don't care about and don't want to hear the woke narrative. They haven't wanted to hear it for years now.

Last I heard, there's aren't any current sports

Didn't know youtube was playing an entire live concert

There are likely thousands of full length concerts on Youtube.....and an increasing number of big (can sell out 10k+ nationwide) artists are using their high end production teams and happily posting the end product knowing it is the best form of advertisement for future attendance

Oh you will want to be paying the big $11 a month for Youtube Premium to eliminate inserted adverts

People don’t tune into ESPN to watch a rock concert.

How about an Eagles v NE SB rerun or other game?

Honest to god I have never watched an entire Replay of any sports event....I would not even consider watching a DVRd game I missed earlier in day if I know the outcome in advance

Hotel California wasn't even on that album, that seems so weird. Also just weird in general that the most sold record of all time would be a greatest hits album. It had no original material!

BFL is accurately reefering to Total Units (albums/CDs) sold lifetime....Eagles are #1 American band for that bracket, trailing only Garth Brooks and Elvis
