I'm not so much a Republican as I am an anti-Democrat.
Here in the peoples Repulic of Massachusetts, the Republicans tend to be farther to the left than the Democrats - we call them RINO's (Republican In Name Only)- so I'm often voting for the lesser of the two evils - I'd rather have a Socialist than a communist running the State.
Three of the 4 judges that turned the State into the Homo Capital of the world were appointed by Republican Governors - and all of the Republican Senators voted for Homosexual marriage, rather than civil unions.
Mitt Romney is the first Real Republican we've had in a ton of years.
So being a Republican ain't necessarily a good thing - at least in Massachusetts it ain't.

BBLIGHT, based on your above comments, I'm curious why you continue to reside in Massachusetts?

BBLIGHT, why do you consider Massachusetts the 'Homo Capital of the world'?

BBLIGHT, if several of your prominent Republican legislators and your Republican governor (isn't he also a Mormon?) voted against outlawing same-sex marriage, does that make them 'liberal' or does it simply mean they are legally astute, given that your state Constitution obviously does not permit such discrimination unless properly amended by the citizens of the state?

Been busy at work and at home - yardwork!

I live in Massachusetts because I was born here - and my family is here. I don't like the one sided political situation we have here - Just look at us - Teddy K - murders a woman and gets away withn it - Barney Frank - runs a prostitution ring out of his DC home and gets away with it - Gerry Studds - rapes a 16 tear old male page, and gets away with it - what a joke - and they have the gonads to be sanctimonious about it!
As I sit here typing this, I see the Grand Supreme Wizard Robert Byrd of the KKK berating the Republicans - now talk about having no honor - this guy believes that everyone who isn't a wasp is a second class cistizen - and should be treated as such - These peopel are the Democrat Party - Oh yes, let us not forget the Gigolo - J Effin Kerry - He's on both sides of all issues - how can he lose?

I see you writing things about Junior - but he screwed up when he was young - and admitted it - my god - he actually admitted he was wrong - and he found GOD! Hree's a man that the left literally hates because he's not an elitist, and he believes in a deity. And he does what he says he'll do - no double speak or lies from Junior - and that makes him a cowboy!

Yup - to have Honor, integrity and personal responsibility are not the thing to do - and anyone that does such should be belittled, demeaned and drummed off of center stage!

barman - I don't consider Massachusetts to be the Homo capital of the world - California has that title - Massachusetts is the favorite Homo honeymoon spot in the world.

BBL, thanks for your replies to the first two questions. Do you have a response to the third?

barman - your question is the usual leftist double speak - there's never been any discrimination against homosexuals in Masachusetts.
I personally support Civil Unions -

So what is your gripe?

Of course your state has demonstrated unjust discrimination against gays, since until a court action was filed, the state did not permit same-sex marriages.

Just asking question based on your comments above where you suggested that Mass Republicans are actually 'liberal' since, quote:

BBLIGHT: "Three of the 4 judges that turned the State into the Homo Capital of the world were appointed by Republican Governors - and all of the Republican Senators voted for Homosexual marriage, rather than civil unions."

BAR: Which implies that they voted that way because they are not 'real conservative Republicans"....thus my question:

If several of your prominent Republican legislators and your Republican governor (isn't he also a Mormon?) voted against outlawing same-sex marriage, does that make them 'liberal' or does it simply mean they are legally astute, given that your state Constitution obviously does not permit such discrimination unless properly amended by the citizens of the state?

Marriage comes from the word matri - meaning mother - and mony, meaning one - matrimony - I've never met a homosexual who can be a mother - guess why? And please don't feed me this crap about adopting, because I look at any homosexual a who wants to adopt as a probable pederast -
Look at what th e pederastst did to the Catholic Church - and just as the Catholic hierarchy continues to protect these animals, you "liberals" protect the homosexuals.

Homosexuals are probably the most affluent and powerful; minority in the history of the world - give them civil unions and leave marriage to a man and woman.

Hey man, you don't have to make your case to me.

You should contact your state Supreme Court, who ruled that not allowing same-sex marriages in Massachusetts was undue discrimination.

You should contact those Senators who voted against outlawing same-sex marriage because they are legally astute and recognize that your state's Constitution does not permit such discrimination.

Your opinion about marriage is to be respected.

Your opinion of Massachusetts law is what is suspect here, thus my questions about your criticisms of the above Senators.

Thanks again for the Replies.

I come from a wealthy family, and i am inherently supposed to be a republican. I however, beleive that republicans only care about making money without concern for their fellow man. There is more to life than attaining wealth. There are more good dems that repubs IMO. end of story. I want to allign myself with good people.

you come from wealth...if you had earned the money yourself you'd be a conservative.

more good dems than repubs? define good.

the republican party gets a bad rap in general for its supposed attitude towards the "have nots" of the world...some of this criticism is warranted.

however, i know a lot of people who vote conservatively and are very generous to the poor and have concern for their fellow man. if they are taxed less, they have more of their own money to give to the charities they want to support.

I could care less about this issue or the etamology behind "marriage", but just for the record (and to show your ignorance) -

Blue - If Landers were from Boston, he'd be a South End man.
People from Southie tend to have an Irish heritage and also tend to be blue collar, die-hard Dems because the Massachusetts Republican party has traditionally been controlled by the monied aristocracy, traditionally known as "Brahmins". They're nearly all RINO's.

I often find myself voting for some Dems for local and statewide offices because they more closely represent my conservative and family values.

Hey, afraid, I come from a dirt poor, bottom of the barrel background, and I worked very hard to get where I am - I believe that I'm living proof of the American dream - "if you're willing to work hard and sacrifice, you can go as far up the ladder as you want" - so I don't want to give up one penny of my earnings to people who are too lazy to work for their daily bread.

I do believe in a safety net, and I also believe that, if I'm paying the way, then there should be hygiene and life style standards and expectations set for these people who are living off of my largesse. - and NO bums; they chose their lifestyle - why should my tax $ have to pay for it.
A homeless person is some poor stiff who is temporarily in a state of reduced and unavailable resources, not a bum!

And Lander - you read your PC dictionary and I'll read my more traditional definitions.
