Why are so many in the world refusing to wear masks in public?

I'm also going to suggest that Asians in general are more socially adjusted to wearing masks, they've already been down this path a few times before and they tend to have more overcrowded urban areas than we do in the states

The beaches here are still closed...the fine for going on the beach is up to a year in jail and a 100000 baht fine...roughly 3000 dollars....

The problem with a lot of these illustrations bandied about the internet, aside from the fact that some are bullshit, like this one....

is that they don't really address the reasons why many people don't wear masks. I mentioned this to a woman on our neighborhood site and she lost her cookies. Unless you can come up with a solution to why people don't want to wear them, you're never going to increase those numbers. Fear mongering is not going to do it, nor is assuming people don't understand the concept behind it.

Vote me on the side of masks being very overrated. Healthcare workers , hell yeah. There are around sick vulnerable people , open wounds , etc. Everyday people just going to the store to buy something or eating out. I'd take my chances with no mask given the choice.

My store never closed , deemed essential , we the fear was the highest no masks were being worn. Same with supermarkets etc, the first month or so when they were mobbed all day every day masks weren't required. There were no mass outbreaks at any of the supermarkets. Now in the last month everywhere needs a mask and the infection rate remains the exact same as when no masks were being worn.

Plenty of proof ventilators re causing more harm
