Kemp would get my vote over Wilkins as the greatest power dunker....it's a shame he got fat and lazy.

Dawkins put them down with the most power

Many more powerful dunkers than Dawkins. He played before "break away rims" and intentionally tried to break backboards with his dunks. You could hit them at a certain angle where they were more vulnerable.

He was a powerful dunker...but more mouth than substance.

That's why I don't consider him.

For Me, Dr. J was the the ultimate in dunkology. The guy was spectacuar. For the short period of years that the ABA flourished, Dr J was one of its brightest stars. I always thought he was a lot more toned down by the time he made it to the NBA.

I know he's not on the list but wasn't Connie Hawkins supposed to be one of the all time greats?

How bout some unknow new school dunkers.

Jason Richardson, although I have not seen many dunk contests but I think he has some of the most creative dunks out there.

Don't forget about James "Flight" White (SA Spurs), although he is a waste of a talent and weak as my chosticks but his windmill from the free throw line will win any NBA dunk contest.

Gus Johnson was another one...although from what I saw of hius dunks they were pretty routine...Hawkins seemed to be the first dunker with a lot of flair.

The things Vince Carter has done are beyond comprehension. There have been some great dunkers, but no one compares to Vince. I think we have been spoiled to see so many of his highlights. If anyone else had just one dunk out of his top 25 they would be talked about for years.

Shawn Kemp was one of the best "in game" dunkers as well. He use to bash ON people.

Ditto. I would say Vince and it's not really close.

Also, anyone see the video of the guy doing a 720? I think it was on the And 1 tour, absolutely sick.

He is unreal. He is not very tall either. "Air Up There" I think is his nickname. He has even nastier dunks than that 720.

Vince or Jordan. Doc. J from the old school. If you guys remember MJ in his first 4-6 years before he developed his jump shot, he would just drive the lane and dunk over everybody !!!! He dunked on and over every center and power forwards in his early years.

The dunk that Shawn Kemp had when he went end to end in the McDonald's All-American game was one of the nastiest I have ever seen

I remember being in junior high watching the "Come Fly with Me" video about 20 times a day. He was amazing.

While i hate Vince Carter, in all the years i've watched the dunk contest he's the only one that literally made me jump out my seat because his dunks were so nasty.
