Pippen IMO was one of greatest defensive players of all time and a very versatile offensive player as well.
Defensively, he shut down Magic Johnson and LA Lakers back in 91 and did the same thing to Mark Jackson and Indiana Pacers in Eastern Conference Finals in late 90s.
Plus he could pass the ball, run, shoot and score although he deferred to MJ. Ain't a whole lot of players that won six NBA titles by simply being in the right place at the right time. And the year Michael quit, they still got within one bad call against the Knicks of going to the Finals.
True, his hissy fit about Kucok getting the last shot doesn't reflect positively on him, and true his skills have diminished in his later years, but he is still one of top 50.
And while I never have had migraines, people who missed playing time like Jabbar or Terrell Davis from the Broncos never got that kind of criticism.
To go back to original title, my vote for most overrated superstar would be Troy Aikman. Aikman couldn't get out of the way of a rush to save his life but he had All-Pro linemen and Larry Allen a future HOF'er to protect him, a great running game led by all-time leading runner Emmitt Smith, a HOF receiver in Michael Irvin, a great defense to keep him in the game and a great coach.
No way he could have survived on Bronco teams that Elway took to the Super Bowl in his three losing attempts.
